How to get a Dua/Prayer answered?

ok faithful-jinn,
let's take two patients X and Y. both get diagnosed with breast cancer. both are in their early 50's. both see the same doctors undergoing same treatments. patient Y is devastated with the diagnosis, cannot accept it, feels depressed, anxious, can't sleep at night, cannot function well. her reaction is one of anger. she couldn't tolerate to look at herself in the mirror seeing her disfigured body. although her husband was very supportive, understanding, loving, she would often lash out pushing him away. she didn't feel like a woman anymore. chemo and radiation was rough on her and she didn't like how it made her feel. even more so, how it made her feel looking in the mirror. losing her eye lashes, her hair. she didn't want to leave the house. antidepressant medications helped but not really. she was put on meds for insomnia, anxiety, depression....
then you patient X who cried when her doctor gave her the news. when she left the doctors office, on her drive home she talked to God asking for help. she accepted the diagnosis. came to terms. she was going to fight it and prayed God for strength. whenever there was a set back, her reaction was ok God this is just another hurdle and give me the strength to get me through things. she worried about her kids, her husband but whenever she felt overwhelmed she prayed to God to take care of things that are beyond her control. sometimes she did need to take something to calm her down or help with her sleep. but mostly, she would meditate, say a prayer. her family would pray with her and so did the priest who would visited her everyday when she was in the hospital. she greeted the nurses and doctors with a smile and a positive 'can do' attitude. often joked about her new hair piece. she said she had fun trying out new styles. diagnosis actually brought her husband and her family closer. on the bad days, she found comfort in her husband's arm and in God.
patient X had a spiritual response and patient Y did not. who do you think faired better overall? let's say both end up dying in 5 years. prayer didn't cure the illness but who do you think had a better 'quality' of life and health?
i am talking about how spiritual response to condition makes a difference and yes, it does changes things. it gives some people the power to live. and also the power to accept.

Did you bother to read the study? The study on intercessory prayer showed that it absolutely did not work. In fact the group of people that prayed for actually did worse than the group that wasn't prayed for.
Now I'm not saying this disproves God or even disproves prayer since of course God will do what He wants. But this was a scholarly study with a sample size of 1800 people done by Harvard scholars on the power of intercessory prayer and their data shows that the prayer was largely and wholly ineffective.

Are you truly trying to suggest that if believers get together and pray for something their success is guaranteed?

A true believer asks for guidance first. They accept "yes" and " no" whatever comes their way from their Lord. They trust their creator.
Eventually their prayer will be answered, GOD never breaks HIS promise.Peace.
