Peace. How do you explain the following that I have typed in capital letters?

999 And from the Nomads are some who look upon what they spend as a fine, and wait for misfortune upon you. They will have the misfortune of evil, and God is Hearer, Knowledgeable. And from the Nomads are those who believe in God and the Last Day, and he looks upon what he spends to make him closer to God, AND THE CONTACT PRAYERS OF THE MESSENGER. It indeed makes them closer. God will admit them in His mercy; God is Forgiving, Merciful

        Peace Ervin.

Quote- AND THE CONTACT PRAYERS OF THE MESSENGER.

"Salawat" here does not mean "Contact prayer" it means " Support" ie They spend as a means to "Support the messenger" .This will bring them closer to GOD.

Another example where " salli" means " Support"is " Huwa lladi yusalli alaikoum wa malaikatahu" , It does mean contact prayer but it means GOD and the Angels "Support you".

        Peace.

Obviously not 'contact prayer'. People who think of Muhammad as a path to God (i.e. as an interceder) will find that this does make sense as that.

From the example in 7531/32 we can see that this verse implies 'support'. To slw is to go forward, make progress, create a reality. To 'yusalli' with the messenger means to help him move forward and attain the goals God set him.

As a soul you can ONLY move forwards towards God or backwards towards evil.

So the meaning of the verse is that some of the people think of it as a tax that they don't want to pay and thus hate the messenger for it. The others spend it in order to give momentum to the movement that establishes the commands of God on earth.
