Satan: Angel or jinn?

Hello
Can someone help me out about Satan.
I thought that Satan was an angel, who wouldn?t bow for Adam.
But I see the claim many time, that Satan should bee a Jinn (and not an angel).
My question is
Where in the Quran, is it said that he?s a jinn and not an angel? Because I can?t find it myselves..Peace, and may God guide us all.

There are a lot of stories about Angels and Jinn. Here is a version of Rashad s Appendix 7. Of course the interesting bits are the verses that are given . You then have to check , as usual the author opinion, needs double checking and all the details analysed. There is some truth but there are also human errors. To me the verses quoted ( Chapters Verses) are the most important .

This has been discussed here many times on many pages.
The verse you are looking for is 1850, however it does not say a malaika/angel cannot be of the jinn/hidden. They are not mutually exclusive terms.

But still I dont see any text saing that he is a Jinn. Is there a specific verse you could refere too.

What about this verse
1850 We said to the angels, "Fall prostrate before Adam." They fell prostrate, except Satan. He became a jinn, for he disobeyed the order of His Lord.* Will you choose him and his descendants as lords instead of Me, even though they are your enemies? What a miserable substitute!
You can check different translations also.
