What can you say when someone asks you the following question?
-
Peace ,you know what I have been thinking. If someone was to say If following Quran alone is the true religion than why is almost the whole world suni or catholic or others?
You can always say How many people were saved when God floded the Earth? How many people were saved together with Noah?
-
Shalom Aleikhem,
Or you could simply call it the Argumentum ad populum fallacy . Simply put, this is the fallacy that is based on a logic which goes like "99% of the people on earth believe the earth is flat, so it MUST BE FLAT".

- There are no such thing as "True Religion"...
- So Quran Alone has become a religion now? Interesting to know that... not unexpected though...
- Being a muslim has nothing to do with religion.. becoming a muslim is not through joining certain cult/sect/religion but through transforming yourselves into certain character/attitude and doing good deeds..
- Muslims the true muslims (not Muslim the member of Islam religion) are spread on many sect/cult/religion including those who are not a member of any sect/cult/religion.

2.62 Those who believe (in the Qur'an), and those who follow the Jewish (scriptures), and the Christians and the Sabians,- any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.
Whether a person is catholic or protestant or sunni or shia or Jewish does not affect faith. The theology is all monotheist. So what religion tradition a person follows is not considered since all have the same faith in God. Its the religion that differs due to doctrine, but that is the responsibility of the Rabbis, Priests and Mullas. Most people do not have knowledge of the doctrine of their own religions. The main difference is between a Quranic state and a Sunni/Shia state. But this does not affect an individual since God does not hold individual responsible accept for faith and deeds.

Peace Bigmo and everyone. I must say that I agree.

Selam. How would you understand the following verse
Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allah is Islam. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allah , then indeed, Allah is swift in account.
Thanks

Tell me what do you think about it? What is your perception of the verse?

Well, if you interpret Islam as submission then you can maybe say that all monotheistic religions are valid. But I would say that that's only were they are understood properly, because at times I believe people misinterpret Gods teachings intentionally. If they don't know the right understanding unintentionally thenit might not be their fault, because somwhete in the Quran it says in the following verse
242 And do not confound the truth with falsehood, nor keep the truth secret while you know.
Ok in this verse it says while you know, while some interpretations say knowingly wich means you would have to deny the truth intentionally. So when the psychiatrists stuff me with psych drugs and my belief as a result deviate from the truth God will most likelly forgive me!
Alhamdulilah, Jafar do you agree with the above?
Thanks

3.19-21 The Religion before Allah is Islam (submission to His Will) Nor did the People of the Book dissent therefrom except through envy of each other, after knowledge had come to them. But if any deny the Signs of Allah, Allah is swift in calling to account. So if they dispute with thee, say "I have submitted My whole self to Allah and so have those who follow me." And say to the People of the Book and to those who are unlearned "Do ye (also) submit yourselves?" If they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, Thy duty is to convey the Message; and in Allah.s sight are (all) His servants. As to those who deny the Signs of Allah and in defiance of right, slay the prophets, and slay those who teach just dealing with mankind, announce to them a grievous penalty.
I think the verse is talking about the signs of Allah and not the verses of Allah. Scriptures as we know are but one sign s of God. What is important in scriptures is what it says and to follow it and not just to believe in scripture as an article of faith. Scriptures are not an article of faith if its not being followed just like God needs to be obeyed.
This is a simlar encounter that happened in the Gospel between Jesus and the Pharisees.
Matt 2331-33 "Therefore you are witnesses against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers' guilt. Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?"
Matt 151-3 "Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, "Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread." He answered and said to them, "Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?"
This talking baout the pharises and their Talmud, very simlar to the Sunnis and Shias and their Sunnahs. They abrogated many of God's commands as did the Muslim authorities with the commandments of the Quran. This is an attack on the doctrine and their spokespeople. Many of these Rabbis against Jesus were following traditions and not faith.
The Quran here sent the prophet to confirm the Torah and attacked the extremism in the Talmud, as Jesus did. The Torah, Gospel and Quran are all Islam. The Talmud affected many of the deeds of the Israelites as they made permissible many sins. But the Muslim did the same with the Sunnah. But this all doe snot affect individuals since most ofthe debate between Jesus and the Pharisees or between the Quranist and Sunni or Shias is beyond the scope of individuals. It does not affect their daily lives.
Judaism and Islam are structured very similarly. Both rely on dual revelations with the oral revelations (Talmud and Sunnah) being the most important. But they hate to admit that as we know. To this day the Muslim authorities claim the Quran is the primary and first source of Islam. We know better of course but this tells me they do not want to reveal themselves to the people which is why the avoid debating us in public and wish we were banned and even persecuted. The same with the Rabbis and Jesus. They were afraid the Israelites will follow Jesus and end the Jewish exceptionalism that the Talmud gave them.

Well, if you interpret Islam as submission then you can maybe say that all monotheistic religions are valid.
No such thing as valid religion either..
If you're a keen observer, you shall notice that
Religion functioned as political party in ancient times... you can see political tendency in every religious manifesto that's why we have so many war/conflict between religion.Saying only 'monotheistic religion are valid' is as ridiculous as saying 'only socialist party are valid'..
Thus the statement of "The only religion in sight of God is Islam" is as ridiculous as "The only political party in sight of God is Democrats"...Now you need to dig out the original word of such statement.. as it turns out the word being used is "Dien".. and "Dien" is NOT religion...
The same thing in other verses... you can see how they put words in brackets to orient the meaning of verses into something which is align to their religious manifesto...
Next, let's discuss 'monotheist'...
Monotheist being surfaced due to the introduction of Polytheism..
For those who are never exposed to Polytheism.. they will not even recognize the 'issue' of Monotheism..
Thus Monotheism by itself might not be relevant at all.. for people who never exposed to Polytheism..Now... what's the true problem of Polytheism????
Perhaps you can answer this question?Salam / Peace
