Why did God create us?

If God is free from all needs, then why did he create us to worship him?

Peace Mikhail Matin.
Does your question refer to the first creation or the second one?

You will probably have other questions?

Peace to you too good logic
Ok let me ask the question again.
If God is free from all needs, then why did he create us to worship him?
Thank you. Ignore the subject title.

Peace Mikhail Matin.
Thank you for clarifying.
Is worship the right word? May be Serve/ adhere to HIS law/obey His rules ( For their own benefit)
All the creations adhere to GOD s law. Those who decided not to ( humans) have been given this chance ( this life) to try again.
GOD is merciful to all HIS creations.
The created are the dependent. The Creator is independent.
Peace.

Free of all needs =/= wants absolutely nothing
God is free of all needs means that nothing affects God or changes God. Compare to us for example, we need food, water, etc - our existence is a product of other things whereas God's essence stands alone. God exists before all creation and exists if He decides to destroy all else. That God is free of need does not mean that He cannot do as He wills.
4522 - And Allah created the heavens and the earth with truth and that every soul may be rewarded for what it has earned and they shall not be wronged.
Why we exist is because if you imagine what's in "infinity" aka the knowledge of God, we just so happen to be in there and as sentient beings we should be tested as to whether our existing is a good thing. When you want a cup of tea you buy a kettle, but you don't need tea. When God wants to experience a human life, He creates one. And He doesn't need it either. There are huge things going on in the universe. Something magnificent beyond our comprehension is being constructed and tested and we happen to be a part of it, thanks to God

Shalom Aleikhem,
I can speculate, but that would not give you anything definite. However, what I find to be a more interesting question personally is... Why does God exist ?

Hmmmmm.. So far I think only Recluse and Student of Allah is at least trying to answer the question

Imagine this God made us. He gave us free will and a mind to think. God then presents himself beyond our senses and comprehension. He then tells us to worship him where in fact he is not in need of any worship. For those who dont, Hell. For those who does, Heaven.
Student of Allah The question you posed is indeed interesting but lets just stick to my question first

Peace Mikhail Matin.
Why are you using the word " Worship"? How can you be sure it is " Worship"?
Why not " Serve" or " follow his law"? or...

Peace good logic,
Also, most sunnis claim or think that believers are the "slaves" of God, which is not correct.
Because the Arabic word "qul" does not mean slave. It means someone who willingly submits knowing this will benefit him and lead to happiness. Not because he is forced against his will.

Let me put it another way.GOD does not want us to worship HIM. HE does not want us to do anything for HIM.

In that case, I must point out that my overall idea is not like that. First thing first, I do not think that there is any evidence for the universe to exist "for us" than there is for the situation where we exist "for the universe". Probably a common trait for us humans is that we are too arrogant and instead of imagining the bigger picture, we resort to human-centric purpose/cause. The sheer size and complexity of the universe flies in the face of our arrogance.
Coming back to your question, please don't be mad if I can not provide you with anything good P
Given the way I make sense of the universe, it looks to me as if we are a very small part of a much bigger picture. We could be the non-avoidable by product of this universe.
My idea of worship is not the way you meant or pointed out. Worship(through mental/physical work) for me is a service which we do for the betterment of our own species. Now let this be a social or a personal action. It is done for us, not to improve the condition of God. It is often the case that the good/moral thing to do is obvious enough for us to not reject it.
Peace
------------- Student of Allah -
the topic title gives me more questions (provided 'us' you mean human)
sorry i have no anwers. just more question and a crap thinkin of mine.why god created plants and animal?
i once heard a simple answer is for the ecology/for us human to eat /etc.
well looks like animals and plants are not the main actor.i guess it's self centric, i mean we're thinking about the universe thru our own lenses
like human is the only focus of god's creation. while maybe we're not.
like SoA said.. perhaps we're just an avoidable by-product of the universe.so like most of us think that animal has their own purpose, so does human.
perhaps human existance is not so on focus like how most people think animals and plants are.
maybe humans are just like animal and plants. created to support something bigger. we're not the main charachter perhaps.
(well i take human > animals & plants, base on the common-minded people think.) <-- not generalizingyes we tend to think that way due to we've been told about our task. being khalifah of the earth. from the book.
but again the other being (animal & plant, planet, water, etc) might have their own task also that we might not know.
and to them they are the main character. perhaps each creation feels that way and improve themselvesall summed up to the whole progress of the universe towards idk...

Hi good logic. Peace to you and all.
If God " does not want us to do anything for HIM", then what is the purpose of our creation and existence? If he made us to be just part of a bigger picture why are there laws to follow with the promise of Heaven and Hell?

And to all who posted. Thank you for the replies. Very exciting and interesting to read all of them

Peace Mikhail Matin.
I believe the purpose of this life is to redeem ourselves back to the creator. Hence the service/ following the law or what you called "Worship"is for our benefit.
The choice is" GOD"= Heaven or " Not GOD"= Hell ?
That is my understanding.

Peace. And where do you derive this understanding from?
From good logic or the Quran?

So you are saying First God do not want us to do anything. Second Our purpose is to redeem ourselves by following the laws that God made. Who sets those purpose? You or God?

Peace Mikhail Matin.
GOD does not need our Service/ worship ... We do that for our benefit, if we choose to.
I got the purpose of our life from Koran.
7172 Recall ( There is a barrier between this life and ?other life? hence the reminder!) that your Lord summoned all the descendants of Adam ( Humans, prior to this life and creation of this universe) and had them bear witness for themselves ( Yes each and every individual!)? am I not your Lord?? ( One ruler, One authority, One system so that we do not divide ourselves into factions/tribes?) They all said? Yes we bear witness? ( You will remember this covenant on the day of judgement?) thus you cannot say on the day of Resurrection? We were not aware of this.?
( You are responsible and accountable! this life is A test of loyalty to GOD your creator? The choice is Loyal to GOD or Loyal to "Other than GOD".)
7174 We thus explain the revelations ( To remind the humans!) to enable the people to redeem themselves.?
Peace.
