    Hello everyone,

My prayer position is quite different from many brothers. I have a question regarding the prayer position. I don't understand why so many of us pray with their bottom so high up, instead of keeping it down, more modestly. Is it because the latter position may requires maybe a little more effort? The rule is to have feet, knees, hands and forehead to the ground. Therefore it is perfectly correct to put one's limbs to the ground and keep one's bottom on the heels of the feet, "japanese" style. This position is practiced in everyday life in Japan as a polite salute, and also practiced across the world in many martial arts, like Judo, where modesty and precision are very important, to show mutual respect between students and teacher. I find it a bit more considerate if there are people behind. I find that a lot of western new converts naturally do it like this too, keeping their bottom to their heels, probably because of modesty.

    Thank you for your answers

Is it disgusting or what , when you bend over someone behind may be looking at you with an admiring eye..........., doing that so many times a day you are bound to meet a pervert. And they say it is to please God Almighty.

            Peace,

If you read aididsafar or aastana.com you will find that salaa is not what it seems it is.
What is the logic of prosterning to the soil when God is everywhere? And why in the direction of Mecca? Why do people protrate to a huge rock whereas Islam itself prohibits prostrating in front of created objects and humans?

Because it is all human invention! A phoney religious practice, similar to 8000 cults and religions there are in the world...

I have dealt with this question before. Shirk and idol worship is nowhere near what you think it is.

I'm just waiting for someone to come to conclusion that in fact, you are not ought to ready/study Qur'an it can be any book you want since God in Qur'an says that everything in the Heavens and the Earth belongs to him, therefore all the books are God's books.

                            Seriously.

                                Peace all

I have not seen a good argument , for those that claim to say observe salat does not mean " contact prayer" for the following

O you who believe, do not observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) while intoxicated, so that you know what you are saying. Nor after sexual (activity) unless you are travelling, without bathing; If you are ill or traveling, or you had urinary or faecal-related excretion , or contacted the women (sexually), and you cannot find water, you shall observe Tayammum (dry ablution) by touching clean dry soil, then wiping your faces and hands therewith. God is Pardoner, Forgiver.

                                OR;

O you who believe, when you observe the Contact Prayers (Salat), you shall (1) wash your faces, (2) wash your arms to the elbows, (3) wipe your heads, and (4) wash your feet to the ankles. If you were unclean due to sexual (activity), you shall bathe. If you are ill, or traveling, or had any digestive excretion (urinary, faecal, ), or had (sexual) contact with the women, and you cannot find water, you shall observe the dry ablution (Tayammum) by touching clean dry soil, then rubbing your faces and hands. God does not wish to make it difficult for you; He wishes to cleanse you and to perfect His blessing upon you, that you may be appreciative.

                                And of course

You shall consistently observe the Contact Prayers, especially the middle prayer, and devote yourselves totally to God.

Under unusual circumstances, you may pray while walking or riding. Once you are safe, you shall commemorate God as He taught you what you never knew.

                                Peace.

"Good logic" it would be good if you could post the verse numbers you are referring to - many of us still rely on translations and other study tools, and you insist on using a bad, speculative translation >(
