I was raised as a christian, although not a very religious one. I am currently almost 16 at the moment btw. I guess I started really reading the bible after reading a book that mentioned the Apocrypha and the book of Enoch (I have read both of them) that led me to question what I really believed in.
My mom and step-dad are Muslim, so we had many conversations about religion starting when I was about 12. It took me a while, but I picked up the Quran about 2 1/2 months ago, and as soon as I started reading everything... well, clicked. It felt like God was nudging me into a direction and once I started looking into Islam I felt like I was in the right place. After doing some research however, I found out about these things called hadiths, which I hadn't even heard of before. And then it was just like the reason I left Christianity in the first place, because the truth that I was looking for was being distorted. And then I did some more reasearch and came to another site similar to this http//www.quran-islam.org/home_(P1).html and found something that I had believed in all along.

        Salamun alaikum,

I used to love the apocrypha. My favorite was the Infancy of Christ. If you have cable and on demand you should check out banned from the bible. I think that hearing so many competing stories really gives you a since of the people writing them and justifies following one book and not separate teachings.

I understand about the Quran "clicking" to me it felt almost familiar in ways that I never got with Chritianity. I grew up in a mixed religious household. My mom was loosely Christian and my Pop-pop was Muslim. Since he lived with us and my mom was a single parent he was like my dad. Islam just kinda felt more right to me.

Hope you find some good things here.
