a little about me...live in Florida, USA. I reverted to Islam last year, and gave my Shahada in a local Sunni mosque. I like all the guys there, however, many elements of traditional Islam are difficult to reconcile with my native Western family and friends. I've only recently discovered that a reform movement exists. The removal of Hadith that is not included in the Quran makes my wonderful new life in Allah much more palatable. ok so hi again and have a great day

Salaam and welcome!
It's pretty hard being a muslim in the west period(I'm in Canada). People just don't seem to understand that ahadith are unislamic, even after explaining. People seem to just remain confused and be like "then why do most muslims follow it?", etc.
Anyway, don't let these people get to you! Stay strong!
