    Salam Daniel,

Nice story. You are in a better position somewhat compared to other people like me since I grew up as a sunni with the Quran/Hadith mentality and its very hard to wipe the slate clean and start fresh with JUST the Quran.

So I wish you all the best with finding the truth and remember don't let anyone put you off or say thats wrong and this is right, its YOU thats going to answer to God not them.

Anyway I wish you again all the best and welcome to this board.

    PEACE wink

      Salam 2 Pac - Notts!

To be a convert can sometimes be very hard but I love my parents and think they are good. Even if they don?t accept my choice in life but I remember one day I was argument with my mother. I told her, look at me, I stoped use tobacko, I stoped drinking, I dont do any crimes and I even cutted my hair! This was something that made her melt, becouse I am her youngest son and been the black sheep in the family.

A hard thing was the big change in life. I left all my friends becouse I felt I actually grew away from them. Their talk about party, alcohol didnt intresst me at all. Later I felt I grew away from all socity. The people I worked with, the people I meet and this made me feel very lonley. One big problem is that I dont have many muslim friends. I didnt have any friends at all, none to talk with and even my wife don?t practise Islam but inshallah, she told me she maybe will start pray now. I wish so,

      Salam
      Daniel

        Salam Alaikom!
        Daniel

Dont follow your lusts, but follow islam. Remember that there are a lot of different opinions in islam. We had sunni's back in history who had a different view on music with instruments.

Dont reject the messenger of Allah for silly reasons.

What's really interesting is how Sunnis always accuse us of rejecting the Messenger, but like Amanda said, you cannot reject the Messenger and still believe and follow Quran. And I think that's what we all strive to do here, is to FOLLOW THE MESSENGER (ALL OF THEM from Abraham on down) in Quran.
I do not think it's right to accuse any of us here of rejecting the Messenger because to do so is equal in my eyes of calling us disbelievers.

              Peace Daniel,

It is my contention that God speaks to us through the heart. So keep listening! D

                Peace be upon you,

Thats strange man...My uncle who is a hardcore evangelist also says that we Muslims reject Jesus...even thought no matter how much i tell him that i cant be a Muslim without believing in Jesus he still insists that i do not believe in him at all!

How close are these so called religious people, yet they fight against each other...

                Thanks, Peace

                  Assalamu Alaikkum

This is the first time I am writing in this forum. I may be the happiest to find that there are more like myself. I believe that we do not have any right to give ourselves a surname (Sunni, Shia or whatever). Its quite simple to think that who are we to decide when it is god who has the right.

Daniel. I am impressed. Most people who call themselves muslims are not muslims but another religion called SUNNI'sm. see how they have innovated. even the Quran has been translated with their ideals in mind.

see how the translators of the Holy scripture itself is blind and making us blind. Quran is the best hadith. Can we argue with God.
This translator does not translate familiar Arabic phrases as its better to leave it in Arabic (Ex, Ayat & Allah). The word Ayat is left as it is and the translation of the word is within brackets. Why hasn?t he done the same with the word Hadith.

                  The true meaning.
Which Hadith, other than God and His revelations, do they uphold?

                  This time hadith=forged statement

                  The truth
In their history, there is a lesson for those who possess intelligence. This is not fabricated Hadith; this (Quran) confirms all previous scriptures, provides the details of everything, and is a beacon and mercy for those who believe.

This time he translates hadith=?idle talks? and then he explains what ?idle talks? means within brackets as (Music & Singing). He even leaves room for more innovation with the etc.,. Who is his god?
                  The truth

Among the people, there are those who uphold baseless Hadith, and thus divert others from the path of GOD without knowledge, and take it in vain. These have incurred a shameful retribution.

?Statement?is his translation this time. Why? Because it defines what best hadith is?

GOD has revealed herein the best Hadith; a book that is consistent, and points out both ways (to Heaven and Hell). The skins of those who reverence their Lord cringe therefrom, then their skins and their hearts soften up for GOD's message. Such is GOD's guidance; He bestows it upon whoever wills (to be guided). As for those sent astray by GOD, nothing can guide them. (3923)

may I post some innovations SUNNI's have made.

                  Hadith & Sunna 619, 38, 114; 71-3; 12111; 1746; 316; 456; 6938-47;
                  plus more.
                  Vicious criminal justice system
Cutting off the hand of the thief 538, 1231.

The thief, male or female, you shall mark their hands* as a punishment for their crime, and to serve as an example from GOD. GOD is Almighty, Most Wise. (53

This translation is distorted by many translators where they interpret mark as cut off. God is not so cruel. A mark is for everyone to know that he is a thief. Every one would recognize that he is a thief and will shun him. That is his punishment. But he has room for retribution as god is all merciful and his family will not suffer for the rest of their lives.

Stoning the adulterers to death 425, 242.

The woman and the man guilty of illegal sexual intercourse, flog each of them with a hundred stripes. Let not pity withhold you in their case, in a punishment prescribed by All?h, if you believe in All?h and the Last Day. And let a party of the believers witness their punishment. (This punishment is for unmarried persons guilty of the above crime but if married persons commit it, the punishment is to stone them to death, according to All?h's Law). (242)

See how the translator has innovated within brackets. The quran clearly states the punishment for the crime of adultery but we have put our own words within, though unintentionally we are being the jury and we commit the biggest sin by quoting gods hand in what we have fabricated.
                  Allah is great.

                  The true translation.

The adulteress and the adulterer you shall whip each of them a hundred lashes. Do not be swayed by pity from carrying out GOD's law, if you truly believe in GOD and the Last Day. And let a group of believers witness their penalty. (242)
                  Forbidding menstruating women from worshiping

They ask you concerning menstruation. Say that is an Adha (a harmful thing for a husband to have a sexual intercourse with his wife while she is having her menses), therefore keep away from women during menses and go not unto them till they have purified (from menses and have taken a bath). And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as All?h has ordained for you. Truly, All?h loves those who turn unto Him in repentance and loves those who purify themselves (2222)

If we give ruling other than above we are acting god.

Forbidding women from the Friday Prayer

O you who believe, when the Congregational Prayer (Salat Al-Jumu`ah) is announced on Friday, you shall hasten to the commemoration of GOD, and drop all business. This is better for you, if you only knew.629
Idolizing Prophet Muhammad against his will

Calling him "the most honorable messenger"

The Messenger believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in All?h, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. They say, "We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers" - and they say, "We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return (of all)." 2285.

                  Claiming that he was infallible
Whatever of good reaches you, is from All?h, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself. And We have sent you (O Muhammad SAW) as a Messenger to mankind, and All?h is Sufficient as a Witness. 479
                  9117; 1773-74; 3337; 4066, 661; 801-10; 937.

setting up his tomb as a "Sacred Mosque"

And from wheresoever you start forth (for prayers), turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid-al-Har?m (at Makkah), that is indeed the truth from your Lord. And All?h is not unaware of what you do. And from wheresoever you start forth (for prayers), turn your face in the direction of Al-Masjid-al-Har?m (at Makkah), and wheresoever you are, turn your faces towards, it (when you pray) so that men may have no argument against you except those of them that are wrong-doers, so fear them not, but fear Me! - And so that I may complete My Blessings on you and that you may be guided.
                  (2149-150)

claiming that he possesses power of intercession

And fear a Day (of Judgement) when a person shall not avail another, nor will intercession be accepted from him nor will compensation be taken from him nor will they be helped. 248

And fear the Day (of Judgement) when no person shall avail another, nor shall compensation be accepted from him, nor shall intercession be of use to him, nor shall they be helped. 2123

And leave alone those who take their religion as play and amusement, and are deceived by the life of this world. But remind (them) with it (the Qur'?n) lest a person be given up to destruction for that which he has earned, when he will find for himself no protector or intercessor besides All?h, and even if he offers every ransom, it will not be accepted from him. Such are they who are given up to destruction because of that which they have earned. For them will be a drink of boiling water and a painful torment because they used to disbelieve. 670

                  More 2254;,694; 753; 103; 3944; 4386; 7448

Inventing an indefensible story about his ascension to the heavens on a horse, at the speed of light, and talking God out of 50 Salat prayers. At the speed of light, he would still be traveling within the Milky Way Galaxy.
Glorified be He (All?h) Who took His slave (Muhammad) for a journey by night from Al-Masjid-al-Har?m to the farthest mosque, the neighborhood whereof We have blessed, in order that We might show him of Our Ay?t (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.). Verily, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. 171
                  531-18.

Adding his name in the Salat prayers & Azan

"Verily! I am All?h! L? il?ha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so worship Me, and perform AsSal?t (Iq?mat-as-Sal?t) for My Remembrance. 2014

And the mosques are for All?h (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with All?h. 7218

Besides the quran tells us not distinguish between any messengers. (2285).

Adding his name to the First Pillar of Islam
                  All?h bears witness that L? il?ha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining His creation in Justice. L? il?h illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.318;

                  Truly, when it was said to them L? il?ha ill-All?h "(none has the right to be worshipped but All?h)," they puffed themselves up with pride.3735;

When GOD ALONE is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter shrink with aversion. But when others are mentioned beside Him, they become satisfied. 3945

Insulting Muhammad by depicting him as a vicious man
They claim he gouged out people's eyes 3159; 684.
Claiming he possessed sexual power of 30 men 18110; 2520.

Claiming that Prophet Muhammad was illiterate, un-intelligent.

Ummi means ?does not follow a scripture?. The Quran is very precise and easy to comprehend.

A bizarre dietary system with multitudes of prohibitions 6145-150; 16115,116

Oppressing women and forcing them to wear head-covers and unreasonable clothes; and depriving them of all rights in marriage, divorce, inheritance, etc. 2228; 3195; 419,32; 971. (See Document ?Women?)

Insulting women by instituting that "if a monkey, dog, or a woman passes in front of a praying person, his prayer is nullified" (Hadith)

Inventing numerous rules from ablution, to prayer, to sleeping, to cutting one's nails 267-71; 5101; 4221.

Prohibiting gold and silk for men 548-49; 731-32.

Prohibiting music and the arts 732; 3413; 4221.

Ridiculing Islam by stating that the earth is built on top of a giant whale!! (7930; Ibn Kathir, 1200 AD & Ben Baz, 1975 AD)
Claiming that only followers of the prophet (Which is interpreted as follows the sunnah) go to heaven.

And there are, certainly, among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), those who believe in All?h and in that which has been revealed to you, and in that which has been revealed to them, humbling themselves before All?h. They do not sell the Verses of All?h for a little price, for them is a reward with their Lord. Surely, All?h is Swift in account. 3199

"If the people of the scripture (Jews, Christians, and Muslims) believe and maintain a righteous life, we will remit their sins and admit them into the blissful Heaven. Had they observed the Torah, the Gospel, and what is revealed herein from their Lord, they would have enjoyed provisions from above them, and from beneath their feet. Some of them are righteous, but most of the.m are evil doers."

"If only the people of the various communities believed and maintained a righteous life, we would have showered them with blessings from the heaven and the earth"

"God is the One who controls your happiness, or misery .... God is the One who makes you rich or poor."

Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Christians, and the converts; anyone who
                  (1) believes in GOD, and
                  (2) believes in the Last Day, and
                  (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve. (262)

Claiming that muslims must marry another muslim and that muslims should not eat from a Christian or Jewish home

This day are (all) good things made lawful for you. The food of those who received the scripture is lawful for you, and your food is lawful for them. And so are the virtuous women of the believers and the virtuous women of those who received the scripture before you (lawful for you) when ye give them their marriage portions and live with them in honor, not in fornication, nor taking losers in the hereafter. 55

Don?t some men claim dowry (Mahr) from women. Mans ego will never accept it as wrong even when Allah tells us through the quran, the last revelation.

Claiming that we must follow our ancestors

                  (5104,105)

                  1. When they are told, "Come to what GOD has revealed unto you, and to the messenger," they say, "What we found our parents doing is sufficient for us." What if their parents knew nothing, and were not guided?

                  2. O you who believe, you should worry only about your own necks. If the others go astray, they cannot hurt you, as long as you are guided. To GOD is your ultimate destiny, all of you, then He will inform you of everything you had done.

Claiming that the quran is impossible to understand to a normal person

                  We Made the Quran Easy

Claiming that the quran is not enough as a religious teaching

                  piety or Righteousness defined

It is not Al-Birr (piety, righteousness) that you turn your faces towards east and (or) west (in prayers); but Al-Birr is (the quality of) the one who believes in All?h, the Last Day, the Angels, the Book, the Prophets [] and gives his wealth, in spite of love for it, to the kinsfolk, to the orphans, and to Al-Mas?kin (the poor), and to the wayfarer, and to those who ask, and to set slaves free, performs As-Sal?t (Iq?mat-as-Sal?t), and gives the Zak?t, and who fulfill their covenant when they make it, and who are As-S?birin (the patient ones, etc.) in extreme poverty and ailment (disease) and at the time of fighting (during the battles). Such are the people of the truth and they are AlMuttaq?n (2177)

                  Innovating definitions of Halal

                  The first criterion

                  He has forbidden you only
                  1 Al-Maytatah (meat of a dead animal),
                  2 blood,
3 the flesh of swine, and
4 any animal which is slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than All?h.
But if one is forced by necessity, without willful disobedience, and not transgressing, then, All?h is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (16112-116)

After we meet the above criterion we don?t need to worry about anything else. If we do we are innovating. Allah is our only ilah & he is telling us through quran that we do not need to mention his name at the time of slaughter. We may say ?but we do that to please allah?. There is no doubt that allah is our only ilah, of course we must do everything we do mentioning his name since if it wasn?t for god we will not be here not forgetting everything around us. But if we install a religious law saying ?Do not eat chicken coming from Sri Lanka because they may not have mentioned Allahs name at the time of slaughtering? that is innovation and Allah says ?They indeed have gone astray and are not quided.? We must mention allahs name when we eat something. See below.

See the same Ayah in 2 translations 6138-140

                  1
And they say such cattle and crops are forbidden. No one is to eat of them save whom we will in their make believe cattle whose backs are forbidden, cattle over which they mention not the name of Allah. (All this is) a lie against him. He will repay them for that which they invent.

And they say That which is in the bellies of such cattle is reserved for our males and is forbidden to our wives but if it be born dead then the may be partakers thereof he will reward them for their attribution (Ordinances unto him). Lo, he is wise, aware.

They are losers who besottedly have slain their children without knowledge, and have forbidden that which Allah bestowed upon them, inventing a lie against Allah. They indeed have gone astray and are not guided.

And according to their pretending, they say that such and such cattle and crops are forbidden, and none should eat of them except those whom we allow. And (they say) there are cattle forbidden to be used for burden or any other work, and cattle on which (at slaughtering) the Name of All?h is not pronounced; lying against Him (All?h). He will recompense them for what they used to fabricate.

And they say "What is in the bellies of such and such cattle (milk or fetus) is for our males alone, and forbidden to our females (girls and women), but if it is born dead, then all have shares therein." He will punish them for their attribution (of such false orders to All?h). Verily, He is All Wise, All-Knower.

Indeed lost are they who have killed their children, from folly, without knowledge, and have forbidden that which All?h has provided for them, inventing a lie against All?h. They have indeed gone astray and were not guided.

                      Peace bro deniel wellcome
Somehow I think that life is an endless seeking for what is best for me. If you think you have settled down and found the trouth then you are in deep water. Its only God who know the trouth and ofcourse Quran is the word of God that must be the truth. But anyway you have to read and studdie all life to not forget and keep on walking on the straight path. Everything might not be written in the Quran, but then its important to listen to your heart and feel what is right and wrong. This is why I left some groups and put some hadith behind me.

i completly agree with u peace
