Layth has outlined very well the articles about time and the Night of Decree.

The question is about the sourthern hemisphere.

In New Zealend for instance, when would the night of decree be?

    Peace,
    R.

      Salaam

For me, Night of Decree is in autum equinox. Equinox occurs at the same time in all the planet.

      Arguments
1-Laylatou el Qadr means Night of measure according to the use made of Qadar in quran. It is the night where the measure is equal between the lentgh of the night and the length of the day.
2- Quran was revealed also in night of shahr Ramadhan. Ramadhiou means also first rain in autumn in arabic. Ramadhiyou permit to distinguish between spring equinox and autumn equinox.
3- Equinox day was easiest day observable in ancient times. It suffices to point to north according to polar star. Equinox is then exactly the day when sunrise is exactly from east.
4-According to first verses of sourate el rum, the true year of revelation would be 614, when Rum were just defeated by persians and just before they get their revenge. The night of qadar between length of day and lenght of night, in autumn 614, correspond quite exactly to night of shahr (full moon) of ramadhan (periode of first rain of autumn) (23 september 614).
5-Full moon just after autum equinox correspond to Jewish festival of Succot. In arabic Soucout means silence and siyyam, according to verse 19-26, means also not to speak to humans.

      Peace
