Peace be upon you brother.
It was interesting to watch your video. I have a question about your understanding of 4102.
Although I currently do not observe the traditional system of a "rakaa" I do perform a kind of unit. The reason why I observe two cycles is based on my understanding that Muhammad led a group prayer which seemed to consist of standing and prostration and was observed with two different groups of believers. How do you understand the other group coming to join Muhammad in prayer? I am only guessing, but it makes sense to me that he would stand up and perform a prayer with the second group, and this perhaps implies there is a "unit" of some sort. I have read the understanding that the shortening of the prayer is in reference to the total amount of time, but I can't really understand this in practical terms as the verse in Sura 4 seems to imply taking turns and the two groups praying perhaps half of the prayer each.
Another brother suggested that these verses might imply that the prayers can be observed several times within their given times and that Muhammad observed two prayers, but I think that the verse follows the train of thought of shortening the prayer during a state of fear and this provides us with an actual example.
I would love to get some feedback on this as it is something that I am trying with God's help to understand clearly.
God bless you.

Peace be with you guys as well,

I just read this understanding recently;"4102 shows that even in extreme situations like war, the group prayer is natural in Islam. True believers are commanded to be united in one column (614) and Salaat is indeed the most unifying ritual in Islam. 4102 also clarifies that it is possible to observe Salaat several times since the prophet would lead the same prayer several times in a row with successive groups....The verse also shows that it is possible to interrupt our prayer before it is finished if there is a danger., "

To Wasi
Verse 1314 is giving an example of someone trying to "call" something to him... Supplication is talked about in the same context. thus i derived this hand position from it.
And as i've tried to say in the beginning of the video, we shouldn't really be worried about hand positions or trivial things etc. The remembrance of God achieved through doing salat is of more importance, and is the purpose of salat 2014 ) -

Salam
thank you for the video.
Perhaps we should even mention, in case anyone can read and understand Arabic but can not recite by heart, that he or she can read in the prayer from the Quran. How you stop the prayer? i didn't see salam right and left- so or so this is not a part from the prayer and only mentioned in Hadith . I have always regarded this as a nice gesture to wish Salam to all - but in fact the remembrance of Allah alone will be destroyed in this way - what are your thoughts?
Nice to see you ;D -
Salams Mirjamnur )
Yes, i guess you can 1) read from the Quran, 2) try to memorize shorter chapters in Arabic, or 3) memorize a short chapter in English or any other language.
I don't do salam left or right nor say "ameen" because that's not in the Quran -
As my understanding, Salat ends by prostrating. That would be the sign.

Salam Wakas
you make a great work. thank you very much.Being submissive / to honour / to pay respect could be said to be more universal concepts and tell us something about one's mindset, whilst conducting a "physical prostration" may or may not, as it is a superficial body-physical action. So one has to ask themselves what is God primarily concerned with is it a person's mindset or a physical act? Of course, God is primarily concerned with the deep and universal concept and not the superficial "physical prostration". We can empirically verify this ourselves by observing the fact that many people do "physical prostration" yet disobey God. So have they really done the "SuJuD" that is discussed in AQ?
Making superficial display is not what AQ is about, and this can clearly be seen in 2264, 438, 847, 1076 and other verses. It is commonly stated in Traditional Islam that one's intention is most important, and this shows that the inner outranks the outer, internal is more important than external. Outer/external display is secondary, not primary. Please note, that is not to say body-physical acts are not allowed. A human being is composed of mind, body and spirit and often body-physical acts can serve to show respect, self-abasement and humility, used as a greeting, or focus our mind etc such as the practice of meditation, tai chi, yoga or kneeling when in supplication to God etc. It simply means that no credible argument for SJD=prostration and therefore prostration during upholding/establishing the salat can be made using The Quran.
well what you say it's so true. Outer dsplay is secondary, not primary and Allah with the Quran like to teach us this- but a physical prostration can help us to FEEL the humbleness more. i remember just as i prostrate the first time in my life with 24 years i FEEL THIS SUBMISSION as never before.
salaam all,
Until this day no-one has answered the points raised about 4102 here
http//mypercept.co.uk/articles/meaning-of-SuJuD-from-Quran.htmlCare to have a go?
because there is no answer- the raised points about 4.102 are (for me) clair , that in case of war we do a Salat, but the prostration in the Salat is NOT FARD.
In other words, in 4102, when they have SJD/submitted/acknowledged = when they have completed the salat. The SJD is the upholding/establishing the salat itself.
yesbut one question remains a common prayer needs a certain order. The traditional form do not contradicts the Koran, as long as the prayer is made only for Allah .
Such a prayer with physical prostration is not wrong, but after reading your article, I believe that a physical prostration is not the required part of a prayer. But again with the Salam greets you the angels. Is this not a violation of the commandment prayer is only for Allah alone? (but yes, we also make Duas for other people in prayer ....)

Yes Karimah
I thought about that too. Seeing real people standing up and defending their views might inspire others to do the same. -
