I'm FREE! My story and intro ^^

Peace and blessings be upon all of you

My name is Madiha and I'm an american egyptian living in cairo, egypt.
My story...
It started last week I happened to be saying prayers to Allah out loud with my husband, to guide me and him and bless us and many other things. I was very calm and sincere about it. It was a very intimate moment between us as I prayed (my husband I mean)...
The next day, I was searching on google about the permissibility of wearing a wig in Islam (for fashion and only to mahram), when out of nowhere I came upon a wikipedia article called "Criticism of Hadith" and it intrigued me. I learned that there were various scholars and maybe even caliphs that apposed and rejected the collection of hadith, and this was the first time I ever knew anyone had rejected it entirely. I'm not sure but I think it mentioned a type of Muslim that follows the quran only and from there I did more research.
Days went by in turmoil, insomnia, emotional breakdowns and intellectual debates. My brain hurt so bad from thinking back and forth, checking verse by verse cited by "Quranists" about how Allah mentions in the Quran not to follow hadith and how doing so is enjoining partners with Allah. I would fall asleep forcibly with my iphone still in my hand sometimes, trying to stay up and verify everything I was reading, and praying to Allah to guide me on the straight path and please don't let me go astray and be like the ones you have veiled and blinded.
I became obsessed. And very upset. "No..I couldn't have been wrong all my life..verily I was a Muslim..my parents couldn't have raised me wrong? I couldn't have possibly been lied to all my life, that was the "unbelievers" that live that life. That life of shirk. I'm sure I'm on the right path...all I do is follow Allah and his Messenger! What's wrong with that?" I thought.
Every time I had questions I begged Allah to guide me and keep me straight and not to let me go astray. And after each time I discovered new sources of information pertaining the fabrication of hadith and how Allah warned us of doing the same as the people of the previous scriptures. It was when I bumped into a video of Teddy3indc on youtube, who recommended everyone watch 3 videos by a user named Humblservant, because she cited from the Quran the entire time, supporting the permissibility of following hadith other than Allah's. Her videos are called "Hadith...is it islam?" if you want to look it up.
I admit I first looked into so called Quranism with a skeptic eye, but that's what anyone with any sense would do. I was SO SCARED. I was TERRIFIED that I might be doing something wrong or that I was going astray,...or even worse..that this IS the truth and that I've been lied to since I was born and never knew islam for what it really is.
I am at part to blame. I called myself a muslim since birth yet I had never ONCE read the entire quran from cover to cover. I never completed it. Not even in ramadan. And whatever it is I had read, it wasn't significant, and I do realise I may have emphasized the hadith too much. For some reason I didn't understand why Allah would keep repeating the same warnings over and over again in the Quran, especially aimed at a people that were before the Quran....so hadith seemed more "detailed" and tailored to tell me specifically right from wrong. Although I didn't like hadith most of the time, I bit my tongue and took it, not all the time of course, but I believed that I couldn't say a hadith is false, because I wouldn't really know and if I was wrong I would suffer for assuming. And that if one was wrong, then the rest don't hold water and I didn't want to disobey Allah, thinking to myself "Who am I to question Allah's will and wisdom?". Little did I know I wasn't following Allah's will and words at all..........
Anyways..I have to tell you how I felt after watching Humblservant's video. I felt FREE! I felt like I finally got the answers I was looking for all my life. And that Allah answered my prayers. And that every doubt I had about hadith in the past was absolutely right, but I hadn't dared to act on it! I felt like the hugest weight was lifted off my shoulders. My constant feeling of guilt, shame and worthlessness was GONE. You know, how you feel for not doing every little thing required in "Islam" and giving up entirely out of frustration and the inability to maintain it.
I was worried at first if this was the feeling of emptiness I had when I left islam as an early teen (13 yrs) and converted to Christianity due to my lack of knowledge in Islam...but it wasn't. I felt totally and utterly free!
I felt free of the prejudice and opinions of the clergies and scholars!
I felt free from the "responsibility/burden" to carry out every hadith, or at least believe in them, however twisted they sounded.
I felt free in knowing the Creator guided me and answered my prayers! Insha Allah
I felt free and at awe at the inconceivable mercy Allah has bestowed on his worshippers. That Islam DOESN'T have to be SO HARD.
I felt free knowing that there IS HOPE FOR MY SOUL! That If I just did the basics Allah asks in the Quran..THAT I STAND A CHANCE!! Insha Allah!
I felt free and not so guilty and heavy hearted!I thank Allah for guiding me, al hamd lilah! I hope Allah always guides me to the straight path, whatever that may be, till the day I die..
Having said all that up there...anyone else experiencing a loss of "guilt" and shame? For some reason I feel like that was the only thing that connected me to Allah. That constant fear, guilt and shame for not meeting up to Allah's commands. I know Allah says you should fear him...but I can't help but just LOVE him and revere him and praise him...somehow I feel that Allah isn't "there" when I feel this liberation and burden-lifted after supposedly finding the truth. Why is that? Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
I also have this overwhelming feeling of the absence of shaytan. I don't know how to explain it...but it's as if he doesn't exist to me! I can't hear his whispers...I dunno why but whatever voice is in my head...it feels like my own. Anyone else feel this?
Thanks for going through my really long intro, but I just had to get it out there! I want the whole world to know I will no longer worship anything but Him, and that I bear witness there is no God but Allah!

Salamz!

Ws Madiha,
Being in Egypt, have you heard anything about Ahmed Subhy Mansour? He's off the radar since he returned to Egypt?
To me, Quranism is about getting the most out of the Quran. Traditionalist Islam (whether Sunni or Shia) blocks that and hence must be critiqued.

Salam Aleykom , thanks for the reply!
I have heard of him but not about his return or anything. I doubt he would be welcomed now that muslim brotherhood are in charge. His veiws can be threatening to their doctrine. However, given the turmoil hapening and the protests of the peole towards that politcal party, Mansour's views would be a good addition to the melting pot of contemporary political thought that has woken up amongst Egyptians.
I can tell you one thing, that he either frequently contributes to an egyptin website, or owns it, called ahlul Quran ( people of the quran). So i know he reaches out to the middle eastern masses and Egyptians on there.
Wish i could give you more information but I honestly didnt keep up with everything on the news like i should have been.

Peace Madiha.
Welcome to the forum.
May the Lord keep guiding you towards His light.
the truth from the Lord is " freedom" for those who follow " God Alone".

Welcome sis!
There is peace in surrender. Peace brings joy. I'm glad these feelings have come your way as a result of you coming closer to truth.
Allow yourself some time to digest this great truth that has come to you - in a while it will seem more normal. Easy does it!There is still great reason to fear God, and to fear the fire He has prepared for the wicked.
Satan is still around too, unfortunately. From personal experience, he will use a new way to fool me every time I've figured out his previous tricks, and he will use the same old tricks too as soon as I forget about them. That voice inside your head that you think is your own is just another way for Satan to use to influence you, and he will push the hardest when you are the weakest and most susceptible.
Only seeking refuge with God brings any measure of (temporary) relief from Satan's suggestions, but he'll come back again and again, trying every possible way of trickery. Remember that he promised to sit on God's straight path (716)! -

No no, that's fine. Hope Subhy can return to the States then. I have little faith in the Arab Spring (call me a pessimist) because unless the Islamists (of all varieties and flavours) are removed from office, it would end up being a downward spiral towards Islamofacism. Traditional Islam has that unfortunate mechanism, imho.

I blamed myself in the same way you did. I accepted Sunni Islam without even reading the Quran..yet somehow..I would swear that it was indeed the word of God. I felt like such a hypocrite. Praise God for guiding me back to Him.
I look forward to your posts!

Out of curiosity sister, how did your husband take your revelation? Does he feel the same way? (insha'Allah)
Do you think many Egyptians are inclined to think the way you think? I wonder if this way of thinking is gaining popularity over there.

Knowledge is power!Yes, to Mohammed, they fabricated Hadiths and Sunnah
To Moses, they fabricated Mishna and Gamarah (Talmud) = Jewish version of Hadith/Sunnah or "Oral Torah"
To Jesus, they fabricated Trinity, worship of Mary etc.SUCH IS THE SYSTEM OF GOD
We have permitted the enemies of EVERY prophet - human and jinn devils - to inspire in each other fancy words, in order to deceive. Had your Lord willed, they would not have done it. You shall disregard them and their fabrications.
This is to let the minds of those who do not believe in the Hereafter listen to such fabrications, and accept them, and thus expose their real convictions.*
Footnote
Shall I seek other than GOD as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed?** Those who received the scripture recognize that it has been revealed from your Lord, truthfully. You shall not harbor any doubt.Yesterday i was told by a traditionalist, how can you trust the people who passed down the Quran since they were the "same" people who passed down the Hadiths"...)
Well God PROMISED to protect the Quran 159. No falsehood could enter it form the past nor the future 4142. Compare that with hadiths, where 90%+ of them where included in the volumes of the two most "authentic" hadiths compilers (Bukhari/Muslim).Would you follow the Quran if it was missing 90% of its content because that content wasn't deemed "authentic" enough?....
"Your Lord is God, the Truth. And what can be beyond truth except Falsehood? So how are you averted? (1032)Moreover, Things from God do NOT contain contradictions 482, if we go by this rule of thumb, hadiths could not be from God.
"Can the moon shed light on the sun? No, for the moon only reflects the light cast by the sun. Likewise, any light in found in any hadith from the messenger is no more than a reflection of the light in the Qur?an." Aisha Musa

Haha right there with ya! It's not like I think this is all the people's effort, either...these things are almost always conveniently sparked for some other power's benefit. I do hope he can return, if he is in fact here, I don't know...because if he tries to take his "movement" in public...what happened to him in Mubarak's time could happen again. And I don't wish that for anyone.

I look forward to your posts!
I know right?? I just did what Allah said about the unbelievers...I took the way of our fathers and didn't bother thinking about it. And when I did, it just let me to reject the whole deen rather than giving thought to even the possibility that MAYBE all these contradicting hadiths might be false. Not to mention i took what scholars said without question..well the foreign ones anyway. The ones out here in the middle east are too.."YOU'RE GOING TO HELL! HARAMMMMMM". Not my cup of tea P.
Sometimes I wondered if I was trying to match the deen to my beliefs, rather than the other way around. But I'm putting faith in Allah that he is guiding me since I sincerely asked for his guidance.
Mash'Allah!
Out of curiosity sister, how did your husband take your revelation? Does he feel the same way? (insha'Allah)
Do you think many Egyptians are inclined to think the way you think? I wonder if this way of thinking is gaining popularity over there.
Alhumdulillah )
My husband actually didn't understand why I made a big deal about it P. And when I was looking into it, he said just research and let me know what you find. I'm so blessed! I admit I was scared sh*tless at first because he's lived in saudi for a long time (but originally Egyptian) and I was afraid the hadith was too engraved in him. My mind was racing about the possible reactions he might have...like "what if he's against it?" What if we get into arguements and fights everytime something is haram or not?" "How will we raise our children?" I even thought "If he doesn't accept, what will happen to us? What if he does accept me, but doesn't accept it himself..would my marriage still be valid"...etc.
But al hamd lilah I finalized everything with him today and asked him what he thought of my little "reversion" to quran only islam. He actually said he's not shocked at all after everything he's read over the years (he's really into politics, history and how it manipulates everything including religion, esp in the middle east and saudi). But he seems a little anxious about how deceived we all might have been. I mean it's hard. We both have very "extreme" views such as the existence of a global elite that control everything and enslave the masses...and the illuminati are running the show...but somehow we never thought it would seep into Islam. That we were somehow immune to it. At least the religion was. But now I realize that was hypocritical.

Subhan Allah I'm learning so many things! I used to sort of fear the devil. In fact when I was going through panic attacks and anxiety and few years ago, I would be scared sometimes that a jinn was in my room or might appear infront of me. I know it's silly. But I had nocturnal panic attacks before, and if you don't know what those are, they are scary as hell. Imagine waking up feeling utterly paralyzed and cannot move or talk for a few seconds up to a few minutes. Mine usually lasted around half a minute but it's the longest 30 secs in your life! Your heart is racing, you feel pressure on you (as if pinned down, yes sometimes it's like that), you can barely breathe, and sometimes you have auditory hallucinations such a loud pounding or buzzing noise (oddly that coincides with astral projection stories..o.O). It is the freakiest thing ever! It took me a while to be able to start talking and reciting quran in hopes that it would go away. And it always did. But I later found out that it is not even rare and it's caused by either a nocturnal panic attack, or a normal condition when the signal from your brain to your muscles that tells them to release from paralyzation (because it paralyzes your muscles in sleep so you don't act on your dreams) is DELAYED. So it might take a little while for everything to "come to".
Anyways my point is the aya you just cited intrigued me a lot. I have been fearing satan a bit too much in my life and I think one of the reasons i don't really feel his presence or burden on me since I've denounced sunnism is because I must have subconsciously let go of that fear.
Thank you everyone for your time to read my humble little post and I tried answering everyone one by one, forgive me if I've missed any one! Love you all! Peace )

Your story is almost my own...and I too came across the same videos by Teddy3 and Humblservant...Masha'Allah! I was so happy to hear others confirm what I suspected...that hadith were NOT based on the teachings of the Qu'ran, but on culture and superstition. Walking in the door with the right foot, eating with the right hand, sleeping on the right side, spitting over your shoulder...Ya Allah! What were we thinking? >(
Note my username of scaredmuslimah...because I experienced the same fear you did. Here lately I have considered changing it as I no longer fear the truth anymore.
I am so happy you are here, and may Allah continue to guide you on the straight path.

Peace Youssef,
I think we should start a thread on all of the superstitions practiced based from hadith teaching...if that doesn't deter anyone from following hadith, I don't know what will. Seriously...they all seem so silly now that I know the truth. I wonder what people would think if they saw me praying and spitting over my left shoulder three times to rid myself of shaitan. )

Since it's mentioned in the quran that shaytan will come to us from all directions...according to hadith, does that mean I spit everywhere? Just wonderin'.
