I'm wondering which people in this forum are self-proclaimed scholars?

I know that 16 year old kid Sara is a scholar.

Same counts for Zenje. TheNabi is a faqih. Layth is a mufti. Anyone else in here who thinks he/she is a scholar in islam?

    Anyone can make a list?

      1. They took their Priests and Monks to be patrons besides God, and the Messiah son of Mary, while they were only commanded to serve One god, there is no god but He, be He glorified for what they set up.

364 Say, ?O People of the Book! Let us come to a mutual agreement, that we shall worship and obey none but God. That neither shall we ascribe divinity to anyone beside Him, nor shall we take human beings as our lords beside God.? And if they turn away, then say, ?Bear witness that it is we who have surrendered ourselves unto Him.?

Allah is our only guide through His perfect word; the quran.

Please stay on-topic. I thought you knew better as a moderator.

I'm not looking for quranic verses who are used without context ( Read La yatafaqahu Fid Din 9122, and 1643, scholars are not law-givers, but explainers, just like a lawyer)

I'm looking for a list. Who are those people who are deeply rooted in knowledge?

I think we are seekers of the truth only through the words of Allah and His guidance. We trust only Him.

Only Allah knows who are deeply rooted in knowledge.

Our Lord increase us in knowledge

            Salaam Ansar,

Who are those people who are deeply rooted in knowledge?

They would be those whom I feel you will never truly understand if you try.

            Anyone can make a list?

            Lists are with the Judge.

I'm not looking for quranic verses who are used without context ( Read La yatafaqahu Fid Din 9122, and 1643, scholars are not law-givers, but explainers, just like a lawyer)

Then how do the ulema of the muslimeen traditional schools of thought claim to be the ulema?

I do not know who you feel here are the one's proclaiming to be scholars, but I feel that I am simply a learned student of alquran. God is the teacher .

pff, is it so hard to give a simple answer. I'm just wondering who the mullahs of free-minds are?

You know, those people who give fatwa's about religious issue's and present their own ideas.....

                Salaam Ansar,

We all have opinions and present our ideas here and elsewhere. It's a meeting of minds. Even still, I'm not sure where you have seen anyone claim they were scholars. I believe I gave you a straightforward answer.

                  Peace be upon you Ansar,

Is your question one that is aimed at maintaining peace or to better understand this reading(quran)?

Why would you be interested in "mullahs"?

The way you have come with the search for mullahs here makes me feel you do not like any one who shall speak over your ideas and views. May be you shed your pride. May Allah bless you.

Why are lists so interesting? I remember other people on this forum who in the past required people to either be on their lists or not be on their lists. What's the point of these lists? Isn't it just a huge tool for rememering how you judged people.

Idolfree1 put an excellent question! Are these list inquiries aimed at increasing goodness and knowledge?? What's up?

It should be apparent by now we don't subscribe to this corrupted outlook on things that leaves the brain to rot.

We don't recognise anyone to have the authority, we don't take lesser gods unlike some.

I aint got no pride, contrary to your mates. You should look at the behaviour of some people here. Appearently some people dont know what the word 'scholar' means and are acting innocent.

                          ps. May Allah guide you.

I have found a fatwa of the scholar called "Layth"

In answer to this question Is it allowed to swim?
                            He says

The minimum dress code requirement for men and women is to cover the 'private areas'. Women are then also 'recomended' to wear full garments if they are to be harmed from they way they dress.

If the setting is a pool or beach, then wearing the minimum is acceptable and does not bring harm to the woman.

The blind follower was ofcourse immediately satisfied because Imam Layth gave her a suitable answer

                            Thanks for your reply!

What a scholarly reply! Its only 'recommended', not obligatory. The minimum dress is a bikini.

Do you also have a school of law?

Have you ever asked yourself ? What is your intension ? I think you should realize that you are desperatly trying to put false atributes to others just to make your point or should I say satisfy yourself.

                                      Ansar,

Noone here secretly thinks they are an Imam, and noone here secretly believes they are. We come here to seek ideas from others and we VERIFY THEM OURSELVES. Allah is our guide.
Anyway the idea of an Imam seems contradictory to what most of us seem to believe.
You seem like you have a vendetta or something.

                                      Peace,

                                          Salaams all,
All people here may not be Alims ,but a few i see may be

                                          And what is an alim?

This is what the quran says about Alims

They are people of scholarly knowledge and not Mullahs of the so called traditional muslims.

                                          PICKTHAL Hast thou not seen that Allah causeth water to fall from the sky, and We produce therewith fruit of divers hues; and among the hills are streaks white and red, of divers hues, and (others) raven-black;
SHAKIR Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the cloud, then We bring forth therewith fruits of various colors; and in the mountains are streaks, white and red, of various hues and (others) intensely black?

YUSUFALI And so amongst men and crawling creatures and cattle, are they of various colours. Those truly fear Allah, among His Servants, who have knowledge for Allah is Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving.
PICKTHAL And of men and beasts and cattle, in like manner, divers hues? The erudite among His bondmen fear Allah alone. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Forgiving.
SHAKIR And of men and beasts and cattle are various species of it likewise; those of His servants only who are possessed of knowledge fear Allah; surely Allah is Mighty, Forgiving.

                                          Thanks and Salaams all.
