    Salam Taj,

    Yeah! Bad Science!

    Lol! rotfl

You must have been in the Roo7, where you can be right at and with the source of your being, at that particular moment! Awesome!

?? I don't know what this is. I don't know any arabic at all. T_T.

And filter if you were asking humans!

Indeed but trust me, I wasn't asking them very much! nope

So keep doing what you are doing.. keep asking as earnestly as you did before "Ihdinaa al ssira6 al mustaqeem".. and you will be shown the way,, the road of the true religion.. a very empty, rough road! Isolated, with no travelers, , maybe very few in the distance, who could be waving to you to keep going,, so keep on moving forward.. with such emptiness you will only feel the company of God even greater, and sense how it is fulfilling and lasting than any human company. The price of finding God is to give up on all else.

Wow. Very powerful words! It made me realize something about what my Islam teacher told me. When I first asked him about the pros and cons of following the Quran alone, he told me that I need community in order to flourish. Abandoning Hadith would be like being a tree in the desert with no nourishment to feed me. Is God not the best of providers? Would He fail to nourish me?! Thank you for that!

For sure, there is always room to learn and grow from the Quran. Never stop studying and pondering on it...it is a very tiny bit of the truth, and there is the possibility that we could be even wrong about it...No single person can be a walking Quran, or a Muslim encyclopedia for every situation. No one can get the whole picture.

Absolutely, but that won't stop me from trying! Indeed I cannot know everything and surely the whole picture is much too large for me to perceive, but should I not strive to improve my understanding? (Surah 20114). I'm not saying I want to be arrogant or whatever like "I know everything about God and the Quran". No way! I just mean that I want to be like mmKhan who pops out Surahs everytime someone posts something. P

Basically someone who has Quran on her mind all the time!

You are not lost without the Quran. That is what I am trying to say here. There are other pointers. The Fitrah is one pointer .. The gut feeling is another pointer ...

To me, the really main pointer, the one that you came to life through and became a conscious and aware being, and was given responsibility because of it, is al Roo7. Strive to be there. It is where you can have a talk with the Creator and tune in for answers and comfort.

Thank you so much for the advice!! But what is this Roo7???

The sweetness you experience within will continuously be challenged by the bitterness of some people in the world around you. Again, part of the journey!

Indeed. Thank you for the warning. I will try my best to not let it get to me with the help of Allah.

Don't worry about that. There are people in this world who choose to sleep, and stay asleep. Their choice. If they have a chance to wake up then it is something between them and Who Created them. It breaks my heart to see them ruining our Earth, but I can and will do whatever I can do. We need to fix what they destroy. We need to do whatever we can.

Whoa, very daunting goal! But I suppose the most important thing is that we strive.

Thank you for the incredibly kind words and encouragement. I hope we can be great friends!

    Salam,

      Peace & Welcome peace

It was nice of you to introduce yourself, a person real person with a face, that actually speaks out... What a rare gem nowdays.

      Thanks!

Keep striving and trying to progress forward with your life. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Don't waste your time on pity... make the best out of a bad situation and move on with your life. A guy told me the other day, it's like that non-stick spray, if something is negative, spray some on and don't let that stick to you. You gotta be positive.

But non-stick spray is terrible! Tastes horrible, bad for the environment, and it isn't even proper oil! Can't I just be olive oil?
Being positive is actually a quite new concept for me, but I will try my best with Allah's help!

Progress forward, help out people, stand up for justice and against tyranny/oppression. Don't be afraid, your anger/rage should be more than your fear. So stand up, raise your voice, and let it be heard.

      Indeed. yay

I don't want to be a debbie downer but, Just so you know, that this road is bumpy. It is not so lovely. Your life is not simply going to magically open up and everything will be ok. Though you may be luck. I guess, pray before you're preyed upon !

      Salam Youssef,

I appreciate you offering a dose of reality and the article was indeed a great reminder. I would like to say that much of my life has been a test, especially because my childhood has actually been pretty rough and college wasn't much better; and I would like to say that I understand that going through trials makes a person strong...but of course I can't really know for sure what God intended for me at these moments in my life. The only thing I know that I CAN do to make the journey easier is ask "What does God want to teach me in this situation" or "What is He trying to say" rather than griping about how rough a possible test, or perhaps punishment, might be. Complaining about my situation has never worked for me before and I definitely know that it won't work now. So I will use the tools that God gave me from my previous trials and apply them to any new ones that I may have. sun

Thank you for your support Youssef. And I apologize for my horrible grammar in this post! >.<

Peace and blessings be upon you bro. Salam!

Yes, keep moving on and try to progress forward.

So now we believe, What do we do now?
Go try to do as much good works as you can, help out people, "show love until it hurts", as Mama Maggie Gobran (Mother Teresa of Cairo) kind of stated.

and yeah, i don't use non-stick spray. Yes do take olive oil/avocado. I used to kind of drink olive oil....

I try to be natural. No aluminum deodorants, fluoridated tooth paste, mercury tooth fillings, hydrogenated fats, artificial sweeteners/colors/flavors etc etc.

All that fake stuff is cheap and makes more money for the corporation, never considering the health of the consumers. No thanks. I'll try to use what Allah created for me to live on. yes

How does One make One's own toothpaste?

It's actually super easy and super cheap! Try one of these recipes

                1. http//www.tammysrecipes.com/homemade_toothpaste
                2. http//www.diynatural.com/homemade-toothpaste-recipe-easy-and-frugal/

The second link is how I made my first batch but I found it kind of hot. The first link I couldn't follow exactly because I didn't have the same ingredients. So I just wung it (a.k.a. closed my eyes and mixed some stuff together...ok not really).

I took a very small container and put 1/5 with coarse sea salt, nearly filled the rest of it with baking soda, used about 10-12 drops of peppermint oil, and poured just enough grapeseed oil to make it paste-like. I sweetened it with honey if it was too hot/salty.

And when you use baking soda to brush your teeth...well, when you brush your teeth in general, you should use circling motions instead of horizontal motions because horizontal brushing will wear down your enamel. It's not really what you use, but how you brush!

                Peace!

I really hope to memorize the Quran, and I mean that as knowing what it says, not how it sounds! I want to be a walking Quran, a Muslim encyclopedia for every situation, a permanent student in Islam! I am sooooooo excited about this change in my life because I finally belong somewhere. I have finally found the logic to life and that fact brings me peace. And God is so awesome and I love Him so much! (Though that feeling is quite new to me as well. Hopefully that love will grow as my journey continues.)

Salaam and welcome to the forum handshake

                                Shalom Aleikhem,

How does One make One's own toothpaste?

The truth of the matter is that if you wanted, you could "make" your own computer that runs on your "own" Operating System. You can build a nuclear reactor, medicines, biologically hazardous weapons, and other weapons. But most people chose not to make their own. There are good reasons for that. Do you think, as the owner of a corporation, I would be willing to spend few hundred million dollars to improve my product if your home made remedy already does what my product does ? I say this not to belittle home made remedies, but to stop people from drawing absurd conclusions.

Most likely I will be posting a refutation series on this forum, for the members of this forum. It will be based on "Alternative Medicine".

@inquisitivetrini Sorry for going offtopic on your welcome thread P

                                  Peace SoA,

The truth of the matter is that if you wanted, you could "make" your own computer that runs on your "own" Operating System. You can build a nuclear reactor, medicines, biologically hazardous weapons, and other weapons. But most people chose not to make their own. There are good reasons for that. Do you think, as the owner of a corporation, I would be willing to spend few hundred million dollars to improve my product if your home made remedy already does what my product does

The truth of the matter is, yes you can indeed make whatever you want at home when you put your mind to it. Corporations spend so much money to "improve a product" because they have us so wrapped up in their "name" and what they "stand for" that we can't trust ourselves to make something as "good" as they can. Many of us never "think" that the corporations which spend so much money to "improve their products" are actually not considering the actual interests of the consumers. Think about it. All this "real" this and "natural" this and "organic" this being put on labels....why? Why do they have to put that label on a product in the first place? Why didn't they just give us a good, healthy product to begin with? Plus, they increase their profits by doing the bare minimum to get a product passed and we pay for the cost externalization.

So sorry for the rant. I just try my best to use things as God intended. Technology is indeed a potent poison, though.

                                  Watch this http//youtu.be/nmXgedNKgjI

Then you'll understand why I get so heated about Corporations. P

                                  Peace! O0

I can not defend a for profit Corporation's business ethics. ) That was not the point of my post. I am sure if you keep looking, you will be able to find Corporations that will actually poison you literally and take your money for that. Therefore, I refuse to defend them.

However, I stand for Science. If you claim that whatever product you made yourself is better or even equal in quality when compared to a product available in the market, you must provide the scientific evidence for your claim. Double blind experiments done on your product, using large samples of test subjects (people) and not to mention peer reviewed scientific journals to back your claim. Otherwise, its yet another claim !!

Oh, and by the way, no matter how you criticize Corporations and their business strategies, that does not add any credibility or validity to your claim of having a better product. All claims stand or fall on their own merits.

Thanks for the link to that video. Will watch it and let you know later. )
