Wanting input regarding a free Ham

So at my workplace they are giving away a free ham to every employee. Seeing as I believe I cannot eat this, I am wondering what I should do.
Option A decline the ham
Option B accept the ham and donate it somewhereAnyone have any thoughts/ideas/opinions?

I am not suggesting anyone follow this anecdote, but this is what it reminds me of
My father received a shipment from a US duty free port when we were living in Tehran. Among the cases was a carton of Whiskey. The delivery company simply dumped everything outside the house and left. Some of the boxes were not in front of our house, but the neighbour's. When my father came home the gardener who helped to carry everything inside told my dad that the neighbour had taken one carton of Whiskey.
My father went over to him and asked for the return of the carton of whiskey and, while he was at it, he was curious how a Muslim could take whiskey which he was not supposed to drink anyway. To which our neighbour cheerfully replied, without a trace of guilt the box had been standing in front of the fence of his house and so he thought this must be a gift from Allah. And anyway, when he was drinking alcohol, he always pulled the curtains so Allah could not see him.
A bit simplistic, but funny story, which made a huge impact on me as a child on the practical approach to religion....
Personally, option B sounds better. The ham is paid for and is tax deductible for the company. You are not burdening your conscience and doing a good deed. Instead of creating a fuss, simply saying thank you and then giving it to someone who will be happy for a present is the easier and more social option, I think.

I've grappled with this issue in other ways... like my son for instance he is only three and I wonder if I should prevent him from eating pork also but then would this be 'forcing' him into something that he cannot really consent to..? There is a small part of me too that doesn't want to see the ham 'go to waste'. I think mmkhan made such a good point though...

Either option is viable, and both have their own merits.
I'd go with option B. Not eating pork meat is binding for followers of our Deen--no problem with others chowing down.
2267 For every nation We have established rites which they are to fulfill. So do not let the matter fall into dispute. And call upon your Lord, for you are on a guidance which is straight.
Abstaining from consuming pork meat is a rite for us--and others have their own rites.
However
2267 O you who believe, spend from the good things that you have earned, and from what We have brought forth from the earth. And do not select the rotten out of it to give, while you would not take it yourselves unless you closed your eyes regarding it. And know that GOD is Rich, Praiseworthy.
Which shows more respect for creation--throwing out meat that an animal died to provide, or providing that meat to one who sees it as food? hmm Of course in this case, the meat would probably not be thrown out if not accepted...but the conclusion is similar. By choosing option B, you are helping another and not harming them.

This was partly the reason I said option 1. Declining it is not going to let it waste, you could ask that it be donated elsewhere like a Christian homeless shelter or anywhere else as opposed to accepting it then disposing however.

Declining it is the best option, because it shows your believes. it will not go to waste, because they will give it to somebody else. However, if you desire it, you have already sinned worst than if you have eaten it. the quran says you can eat it if you are force to it but without desiring it.
