Why the Quran decreed 3 daily ritual prayers with 2 rak'ahs each
-
Salaam novice,
Please take a look at this if it helps.
May Allah bless you,
mmKhanSalaam brother,
I respectfully disagree with the two salat theory, as there are three names of prayers, which correspond to three time frames detailed in the Quran
- Salat al fajr (Dawn salat), for instance (20130)
So be patient regarding what they say, and celebrate (O Muhammad) the praise(s) of your Lord before sunrise
2. Salat al Wusta (Middle salat), for instance (301All praise is due to Him in the heavens and the earth In the evening as well as when you reach midday (when the sun starts declining from its zenith).
3. Salat al 'Esha' (Nightfall salat), for instance (177Observe the ritual prayer (O Mohammed) at the the suns decline (when it has vanished beyond the horizon line) until the darkness of the night ( the sunset prayer cannot be observed anymore when the sky is completely dark),...
Salat al wusta (the middle prayer) is what it literally means The middle point between sunrise and sunset (Midday), as well as the prayer located in the middle of the dawn and nightfall prayers.
The above three names and time frames are nothing but a confirmation to the message of the Bible
(Psalm 5517) At evening, at dawn and at noon I cry out in my distress, and the Lord hears my voice.
And also
(Daniel 610) When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem; and he got down upon his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.
Again, there is no need to reinvent the wheel.God bless you.

The entire life histories of Buhari et al is that they collected the supposed to be hadiths from well known people in every town and villages and cities and so on. Later on they go about the towns of those poor men to enquire and investigate about their characters in depth, thus inducing every people to backbite and throw slander on them; and they themselves spied on them too. Allah hates these buhari and the likes as they are sinners for they spent their entire lives eating the flesh of their own dead brothers. These, and their followers are to be reprimanded in hell as the worst sinners until the world ends and thereafter too. Allah has rightly stamped the followers of buhari et al as fundamentalists and terrorists of worst kind.
O you who have believed, avoid much negative assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah ; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful - Al Hujurat, 12.

mmKhanSalaam brother,
We may have some differences, but in the final analysis we all agree that Islam is about following nothing but the Quran. This is the most important.
One day, God willing, God we reunite people regarding the way they interpret His rituals.
God bless you.Pierre

Salaam brother,
We are all here to learn, we are certainly not always right, including myself of course, and I am glad that we all agree regarding the most important matter Follow the Quran alone. It is why we are all brothers despite somewhat minor differences. group
God bless you.

Salaam Pierre,
You are absolutely right in what you are saying. It all makes sense. Why would God change His ritual from 3 to 5 prayers per day in His last revelation we can ask ourselves. And that surah 1 is to be recited twice in each prayer does also make sense.
I have heard that before Muhammad people used to pray only two rakah, so why would this change?
By the way dear Pierre, I am brother Henrik. I just registered here.
well i just got here and I know that this thread has been here for so long...but i also asked myself...in Islam we have many things that are added such as the abulution. In islam right now we see many muslims performing wudu that is not accordance in the quran..such as washing the face tree times or rinsing the mouth. In salah as wel we see that there are added things such as saying salam to the angels and saying "o prohet..." in some parts where I totatly forgot what was the exact wording. I mean if there are things that are added in the the practices...then how can you make sure that there is a salah timing that is just an innovation. I mean look at at hajj...Stoning of satan . Realy? where is that in the quran....so if there are things added in islam thta is not ordained by Allah then could prayer times be also affected?...just a food for thought to people...lol...

(1587) We have revealed to you the seven recited in sets of two and the sublime Quran.
Salam, I believe Allama Parwez has given the best explanation for this verse.
"We have given to you directives in the magnificent Quran, and annals of history which repeats itself, in support thereof" (1587); also 39/23.
Here is some extracts from his explanation of the word "Sab-un"
Sab-un means figure seven, some think that in reality this word was sab-uh which means a lioness, because she attacks even faster than the lion. The Arabs thought the number seven to be a perfect number. As-sabuh means a wild animal (53), some think that this is so because the Arabs thought seven animals to be in the catergory of beasts. Raghib says that wild animals are called "sabah" because their strength is complete and the figure seven was also thought to be complete....................
Lane with reference to Baizawi has written that the Arabs do not only mean seven by saying sahah but is it is also used to mean "several" or "many" Quran says in 980, ?even if you ask forgiveness for them seventy times?, here it does not mean that if you ask for their pardon seventy times it will not be forgiven, but if you ask for pardon more than seventy times it will be forgiven. Likewise, sab?as samawaat (229) is implied to mean ?several?. We also say ?across seven seas? while we mean several seas. Also verse 2261 which states ?The parable of those who spend their substance in the way of Allah is that of a grain of corn it groweth seven ears, and each ear Hath a hundred grains?. Obviously here sab-a sanabil means several. It is in this context the phrase ?seven? of the missani has come (refer to verse 3923 also)
