Shocking Facts about pork industry
-
In my opinion we need to face the fact that this is a purely emotional question.
There is no factual reason not to eat something like pork or fish or shrimps. But religions love to restrict what their followers eat and what they do when they are naked. And what they wear when not naked, like I can easily distinguish between a Sikh, a Muslim and a Jew. Like I can tell a mosque from a temple from a church. Different styles, not factual, just emotions and style.
Pigs, like most mammals, are omnivores and eat meat, plants, algae, etc. So do humans. So there's no big deal here. There's no need to get all emotional about this and simply accept that religion is exactly that faith based beliefs.

- the distinction between clean and unclean is made because for their 'meal plan' not because of their penchant for grunge or mud therapy inpure because it will be toxic for us.
- God speaks from 'good' food and healthy food - so toxic food is unhealthy
- in our time virtually any food is inedible and poisonous and can thus be considered as "impure".
- mass animal transports or animal abuse or cruel slaughtering make the meat - despite a 'halal' slaughter - inedible and poisonous, i.e against of the law from God

Very good points indeed. Before I believed we were not allowed to eat pork because of the many health issues but I started asking myself questions that I could not answer, maybe you can.
- If the pig is not fit for human consumption because it is an omnivore then what about all the other omnivore animals we are allowed to eat? Sorry BTW, I do not agree we are not allowed to eat certain kinds of seafood because of (596) it states that what lives in the oceans and other waters are good for us.
- There is no objective evidence that muslims (before the age of chemical medicine) were healthier than non-muslims. There is no objective evidence in today?s world that muslims are healthier than non-muslims either. At best, the prohibition of pork due to toxidity/illness is a reasoning that belongs to a certain fixed time in history. It is my opinion this theory is not valid anymore, despite youtube clips and scientific research claiming pork is bad.......according to science all we eat is bad.......
It cannot be because the pig's eating habit. The chicken is not prohibited but the chicken is also an omnivore.......and so are humans. Are we impure? I do not have any problems with not eating pork because it is impure, but I do not believe it is because the pig is impure, I see it more as the act of eating it as impure.
You see my point? When somebody asks you why you do not eat pork the answer should not be "it?s a dirty animal" but "it is impure of us to eat". Why is it impure of us? I got no clue.....yet....But I do know is that the pig should never be blamed for its nature given to it by God. That is like seeing a child born out of wedlock being lower than a child born into wedlock. It is not their fault that God has decided to give life.
God has created all living creatures, I find it difficult to comprehend the idea that he would create something impure. Well.....except for our actions, they can be both impure and pure.

No i don't agree with you simply because of the fact that pork meat is the dirtiest compared to other animals as source of food .
in other words if my religion forbid me lambs and permit me pork then i'll reject my religion because it makes no sense. So it isn't just faith based belief but it is a fact that Herbivorous animals such as lambs , deers ,cows are much better than pigs.
So your argument doesn't hold water.

PORK LINKED TO LIVER CIRRHOSIS
from Canadian Science News, January 1986
By
Carolyn Hoskins
FOR the first time, researchers have shown a possible link between cirrhosis of the liver and dietary factors other than alcohol. The recent findings of an Ottawa research team show that people who drink, even in moderation, and consume pork are more likely to suffer the potentially fatal liver disease than are people who consume other meat or fatty diets.
Dr Amin A. Nanji, Head of Clinical Biochemistry at the Ottawa General Hospital, and Samuel W French, Chairman of the Department of Pathology at the University of Ottawa, investigated the relationship between ?per capita? consumption of total fat, beef, and pork in several countries and the mortality rates for cirrhosis of the liver in these same countries. They focused their studies on countries where alcohol consumption was relatively low, such as Canada, the U.S., West Germany and Australia. Dr Nanji says previous reports had shown a high rate of deaths from cirrhosis in countries where alcohol consumption was very high, but a ?curious scatter? of deaths in countries where alcohol consumption was low.
In other words, countries with low levels of alcohol consumption showed a great variation in the incidence of cirrhosis deaths. Dr Nanji concluded that some other factor besides alcohol must be at work. Cirrhosis of the liver is a leading cause of death in North America. In the early stages of this degenerative disease, the liver becomes inflated by fat, a condition called ?alcoholic fatty liver?. This condition can be reversed.
In the later stages of cirrhosis, normal liver tissue is gradually replaced by fibrous tissue, the liver structure becomes misshapen and disorganized, and the liver cannot recover. Eventually the victim dies from liver failure. When the Ottawa team examined the diets of the countries in their study, they found no relationship between deaths from cirrhosis and dietary fat or beef consumption. However, they did find a striking correlation between pork consumption and cirrhosis mortality for the same countries. When they examined the relationship in terms of pork consumption multiplied by alcohol consumption, the results were overwhelming.
The two scientists also compared similar data from Canada?s ten provinces. Again cirrhosis mortality was significantly associated with pork, but not with alcohol consumption - presumably because Canadians as a group are not heavy drinkers. When the researchers left Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island, where more seafood is eaten, there was an even stronger link between the fatal liver disease and pork consumption.
Even more convincing to the researchers were comparisons of pork consumption and its effect on cirrhosis death rates within a population. Among the Canadian provinces where alcohol consumption varies little between provinces (from 9.23 litres per person a year in New Brunswick to 13.05 in Alberta) the death rates from cirrhosis were directly related to ?per capita? pork consumption, but not to alcohol intake.
For example, although Albertans drink slightly more than people in British Columbia, they suffer far less from cirrhosis deaths than do people in B.C.,who have a higher pork intake. Dr Nanji says the researchers don?t know how pork might cause or enhance cirrhosis of the liver. Nor should their study be taken to mean that alcohol does not cause liver disease, he says. But other researchers have speculated that some ?facilitating factor? might explain why only some alcoholics get cirrhosis. The Ottawa team may have found part of the answer Dr Nanji says. Drs. Nanji and French hope to follow their statistical study with a ?case control study? in which they will investigate meat consumption of individual alcoholic and cirrhotic patients. They also plan to initiate rat feeding studies to investigate the possible role of unsaturated and saturated fats in chronic alcoholism.

No, of course you will not agree with me because I am being rational, reasonable and logical. And you can't handle that.
You make the claim that "pork meat is the dirtiest". Where do you get this from? Nobody knows. You just make this up. If you go back a bit I have shown that other types of meat have had problems in the past and that is due to human intervention. This is true for any and all types of food.
You then pull out your trump a newspaper article from 1986, 27 years ago, where a newspaper claims "that people who drink, even in moderation, and consume pork are more likely to suffer the potentially fatal liver disease". Again people who drink alcohol AND eat pork meat are not sure, or definitely, no, more likely to contract this or the other, which leads to a death. How many people were in the study? Nobody knows. How many did not eat pork and die? Nobody knows. There is nothing there which would make this a serious and professional article. This is emotional jibber-jabber - exactly what you want and what you need to deceive yourself and others. Shame on you!

That is the difference between people of faith and people of non faith.
Atheists defend the bad things in our life and the pork is one example.
Adultery is kind of freedom.
homosexuality is normal and it happens in the kingdom of animals.Antibiotic-resistant MRSA bacteria widely present in retail pork, new study says
MINNEAPOLIS ? New peer-reviewed research published January 19 found methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in pork samples collected from retail stores at a higher rate than previously identified. The study, by researchers from the University of Iowa College of Public Health and the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, titled ?MRSA in conventional and alternative retail pork products,? represents the largest sampling of raw meat products for MRSA contamination to date in the United States. It appears in the online science journal PLoS ONE from the Public Library of Science.
In total, 395 pork samples were collected from a total of 36 stores in Iowa, Minnesota, and New Jersey. Among these samples, S. aureus?a bacteria that can cause serious human infections of the bloodstream, skin, lungs (pneumonia) and other organs?was isolated from 256 samples (64.8 percent) and of those, 26 pork samples (6.6 percent of the total) were found to contain MRSA.
MRSA is one of the most serious bacteria, causing infections resistant to multiple antibiotics, which are therefore costly and very difficult to treat. According to 2005 estimates, MRSA accounts for about 280,000 infections and nearly 19,000 deaths a year in hospitals. However, MRSA infections acquired outside of hospitals, in communities and on farms, have been rapidly rising.
?The latest results are more than double the prevalence found in previous studies of this kind. At 6.6 percent, pork is four times more likely to be carrying deadly MRSA than the average American, pointing to our food system and industrial farming as an avenue for MRSA to continue to spread,? said IATP?s David Wallinga, MD.

i have first a wiki article about aas- the dead body is mention as aas, if is rotten and the most types of cats or other Mammals didn't eat it in this state no longer, as it is hurtful for them.
Only certain birds like the scavenger vulture and hyena will eat it in this state.
Unfortunately, there is nothing about the (wild) pig-it could be that they also belong to those. But I will not make any statement If I do not know exactly.
see the article here http//de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aasbut to answer your question
i read out of the Quran that for us only grazing / grazing farm animals are allowed-these eight, which we described in the Qurran.
an article from brother Joseph - his explanations are quite logic for me
http//quransmessage.com/articles/does%20the%20quran%20allow%20the%20eating%20of%20all%20animals%20FM3.htm
There is nothing written directly about chickens, ducks, etc.
my personal conclusions anyway go in the direction that our main food should be VEGETABLE.
Eggs and milk in the natural frame can be used, but only if the animal gives milk, because this is normally not always, it is also sure that we do not poison us (because to much milk consumption, especially with today's methods is clearly unhealthy.)I read out of the Quran, that we should avoid things that are harmful to us.This concerns not only the food but also social or psychological commandments.
The food commandments or prohibitions go for me, logically, in the same direction. That is, we should give our body good things to eat (man is what he eats)The Quran was revealed in a time when people lived with the natur , not against it. I see these prohibitions clearly in this context. But also i think that God would have mentioned clearly if a prohibition sould be no longer be observed.
For me, however, the prohibitions have clearly increased by far the very reason that you have mentioned.
-The food is genetically altered- foods are altered chemically
-The food is transported over thousands of kilometers, cooled, frozen, sprayed ...
the animals
We should respect the animals and slaughter it 'in the name of God' what does that mean?
For me clearly aware that animals have a soul first, and secondly feel suffering and pain, and third, we extinguish a living for our stomach.
In the name of God for me is a warning not to do it just the way it is done today.
this way has nothing to do with the law of God. This is butchery and murder and FASSAD -whether this Fassad now refers to people or animals, it remains to ultimately the same.
God mentions unbelievers or idolaters as parts of humans who commits Fassad - idolatry can also mean that the greed or the money becomes a god - in fact it is so.
So it is forbidden for one faithful man or women to participate in and benefit from such things and from the universal Law of God it will happens that if you transgress those prohibitions from God, you will become sick. (i mean now if you eat from such food)I look at the animals as you do it and agree with you - clear that the pig can be neither dirty nor abnormal. God created all animals and each assigned its place- praise to God.

Greetings to you all.
I just came on this site to see if anyone left a link how to cancel a membership! Unfortunately, it seems no one knows the link to cancel a membership!! How bizarre!! It is easy to become a member but almost impossible to cancel it, what is going on?
However, when I was looking for a link of cancelling the membership I couldn't pass by without reading the posts/discussions(more like a verbal abuses) between the members likes of FEAR GOD/EMIL and some others. More I see these things here, quicker I want to get out of this site! Absolute idiocy and total disconnection of reality! One is talking about scripture one is trying to rely on blind faith!! It is such a clear concept that does not need a scripture nor does it need to be blind faith. As far as my understanding the scripture is just like a coded book and the way you translate will determine your belief about eating so called HARAM, such as pigs meat or dead meat etc. If its said eating a pigs meat at a time is HARAM and no good for your health than there must be reason why its said. Cos' simply the condition of place that includes climate conditions together with hygiene have to be considered. if somebody fell ill after eating a pigs meat in a said conditions,it does not take alot to figure out why that happened and causer of it does it? If the cave man figured that out, what is wrong with these people here today discussing it as though it is a God's order not to consume any pig meat? That was said at a time which was correct. Today's technology and science is so advance that you should have been moved away from the blind faith on that respect. Not that I eat pigs meat simply I do not like the taste and smell of it. We were given intelligence and faculties to over come any feudalistic and backward belief. Pig eats anything so is the chicken. You dont just not to eat cos what pigs eat or what chickens eat. You dont eat pig or chicken cos simply two different metabolism and produce very different things that do not agree with our diet, causes illness, sickness etc. It is as simple as that. And we are very lucky that we have the capability knowing it, thanks to the science. Other than that nothing should hold anyone consuming pigs meat believing the scripture said this or that. Just explore and explore than you will find what is good or not not good for you. You have the faculties and intelligence. The problem with us, we convey the scriptures up
today without looking and exploring it widely and real meaning of it. The scriptures were wonderful way of life to guide humans in a most civil and humane life. But please do not take it without widening the real meaning adapting to our life today. It just can not be said ''Pig meat is HARAM or if you consume it YOU ARE SINNER'' I don't think so. To me that is discriminating the God's creation in fact, undermining God's capabilities. If the pig or other creations were harmful to life and us. God would not create such a thing like that would he? Why would he do that? So, when there is no doubt he would not do any deliberate act such as this. So lets be logical and use the faculties we have. Instead of getting each others throat for what you believe is right or what he/she believes is wrong!! When the civilization come this far as we are even trying to build cities and towns in space and at the other hand there are people here calling each other every names under the sun on a topic that doesn't even qualify as a topic(consuming pig meat, haram, halal etc). My advice to them is quite simple, you have the brain and you have the tools it is about time do something productive and explore the life what is infront of you and be conducive the society, communities and to humanity. That is the path we should always take and that is the path will take us to eternal happiness. Ask yourself a one simple question when you come home, WHAT DID I DO TODAY FOR HUMANITY? Answer it honest way.If you put yourself on a credit side than you know you have done your earthly duties in a daily basis. But if you think you have not been useful in anyway than you know you are not complied your duties and you know that you are a loser. The scripture has gone out of the window. That is the bottom line of any scripture you follow or try to implement. If you ask me what I've done good today? I tell you what I have done, I was walking home, saw a man needy sitting on a cold ground, his feet were badly exposed to cold. I went home got three pair of socks and gave it to him. He put them on in front of me and he gave me a big smile and meaningful 'thank You'. That was something that I felt so good and happy just to see him smiling. I don't think he needed to hear discussion of PIG MEAT..... I hope people reading this catch my drift.May God grant peace upon us.

Very nice put and I agree with you. I wish my self discipline was stronger and I would have moved away from meat all together. Not because for my own health but the way we treat animals are lacking the islamic way....and that includes so-called Halal food.
The dis-respect for animals in this thread was what I initially responded on. I picked a fight, I am a little hot-headed when it comes to picking on somebody or something that cannot speak for him, her or itself. Sorry mr FearGod, Sorry guys -[ Sorry PiggyZeace...........But I do think you agree with my initial input that just because it says in the Quran it is impure for us to eat pork does not mean we can blame the pig for being dirty.Mirjanmur, Du bist deutsch?
