    Just another golden cow.

And their prophet said to them, "Indeed, a sign of his kingship is that the chest will come to you in which is assurance from your Lord and a remnant of what the family of Moses and the family of Aaron had left, carried by the angels. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers."

    Golden cow, huh?

Yes, the way people are treating it and making a big deal about it and how it is used in the Bible particularly makes it pretty apparent it is being treated as another golden cow.

God is the same who sent Harut and Marut, so because God has sent something to people doesn't mean they don't start treating it in the wrong way.

The way you mentioned how people think it has power, it has no power, because all power belongs to Allah alone, not imbued in relics, and if ever a relic appears to have power, it does not, all power is actually from Allah and all happenings.

So yes, they treat it like a golden cow "The Lord is with us! We have the Ark" that is why they were so dismayed at the times when what they had taken to be their idol was removed from them, just to prove their idolatrous mindset. Allah proves people and what they are through various means.

Well, for novels it is a gold mind, fighting it out with the templars and the mummy.

If it wasn't big deal and just normal wooden or golden box than why would be carried by the angels and given to believers?
I just wanna know what it was, what that has to do with idol worship?

I just wanna know what it was, what that has to do with idol worship?

The way it is depicted as being used in the Bible, it was believed to be their own mobile representation of God or God's power and assist them in winning battles, you can read many verses that make it clear that it appeared to be their own special holy representation of God and they would say "God is with us" if the Ark was with them. A representation of God is generally an idol, and people in the past tended towards idolatrous thinking.

The angels Harut and Marut brought magic to people too, that doesn't mean that people didn't misunderstand and misuse it.

I am not saying it was "just ordinary" where in the world did I say that? Why does everyone misrepresent what I'm saying constantly? It is becoming pretty repulsive that everyone is constantly doing that on this website.

God comforts some and misguides some by the same means sometimes, and in the case of Ark, even today it is treated like a magical relic and people take a view of shirk regarding it, that it somehow holds power (just like they believed in the past) when in reality nothing but God performs miracles and holds power of any kind at all. So people seek the "staff of Moses" thinking that it must hold some magical powers because Moses held it and miracles were performed, but it is not magical at all, and such things are just temptations to lead people astray, if one understands God and that God alone has all powers their idolatrous relic worshiping tendencies will be quenched and eliminated. The walking stick of Solomon was eaten up by small insects so that he fell to the ground finally (he had been standing dead and no one even knew it and they continued to labor for him).

These are just examples. These things, even which come from God, are not to be worshiped or sought for power, as they have no power of their own, just as Jesus had no power of his own. Yet Catholics seek out relics believing they are imbued with holy magical powers, this is giving credit to other than God, and it is called shirk.

Thank you for your questions. I am not saying it is bad to seek out the Ark, nor am I saying the Ark is bad. So please don't misunderstand my ideas as everyone else also seems to. I am saying for many people today and possibly even in the past, the Ark was treated almost as an idol, which is evidenced in the Bible, so they made it like their new Golden Calf, thinking that it acted as a representation of God and held God's power, and there are many stories in the Bible which make this obvious, that is all I was talking about.

              Peace Everyone.

              I have got the Ark.

I have had the Ark on the mantle peace for the last few years.

Somebody bought it me when they were on holiday. I think it looks like the Ark of covenant?

I was thinking then, how do they know what the Ark looks like? They are just making money from tourists!!!!

On a serious note,if GOD gave the Ark ,how do we know that He has not taken it back when it was finished with?

And even if we find it ,what use will it be for us?

If GOD decides to give the Ark again, then that will be interesting!

Any way the people looking for the Ark, the lockness monster,Big foot,Solomon s mines....are chasing the wind?!

              GOD bless you.
              Peace.

                  Peace SC.

Well done. That will stop brother Wakas asking for evidence about "big foot". He can see it with his own eyes!

Come to think of it, I might know where the Ark could be?

That " Indiana Jones" fellow may have got it? He could be hiding it somewhere(in Hollywood!!!) to stop the Russians getting their hands on it.

                  GOD bless you.
                  Peace.

Indeed, brother Wakas sees but does not see. It could be that the rating might stop him but I consider people's opinions to be like vegetables in chinese fried rice unnecessary yet unavoidable. Even when you freakin' tell them. It's like they just can't believe someone would not want such goodness in their rice. I'm a purist I try to explain, but I could be speaking in chinese for all they care.

You are right about Putin. Do you think he is after the Ark of covenant?

He trains in the Gym and flexes his muscles! Is he after playing the new "Indiana Jones" in the next film?

Coming back to the topic, sorry seekingtruth, the Ark ,according to different stories could be in south America, Africa ,Asia and even Japan?

Strange how they rule out the middle east? I think it might hidden with some more scrolls in some cave?

                      GOD bless you.
                      Peace.
