Ever since I accepted the Quran as the only source to gain knowledge of Islam, I felt like there is a absence of god in my life as well as shaytan... don't get me wrong I feel like Allah is still there with me but not as much as before. The same I get with the shaytan, I just don't feel the presence anymore (thank god). I don't know how to describe it. I'm honestly scared tbh
Should I be worried? It's not a bad feeling, it just feels eerie and I miss the feeling in a weird way.

    Does this make sense?

I totally understand what you are going through. I personally felt more nearer to the God because I didn't have any books i studied. I simply believed in God and that was that. Now that you have read the Quran, if you were following hadiths before, you might feel a weight lifted off your shoulders and you might feel that you don't feel Allah is there as much. Reality is, it will feel the opposite with time. You'll realise Allah is always there, you'll feel at peace and you'll feel like you're beginning to open your horizon and understand the world more and not have such a traditionalist view of it. I think what happens is people feel close to a God that they can picturize or imagine. If you take a look at traditional Islam or Christianity, you will see many paganistic drawings and personifications of God. This might make someone feel closer to God because they feel they can relate to God more since they see God more humanly. However, when you take God to be omnipresent like I do, you don't imagine some random dude in the skies who is gigantic looking down on you. In fact, you just feel a very spiritual feeling of the creator being ALL around in every single atom of the universe. It's a difficult concept to comprehend and it might make you feel empty because now you take God alone, you don't take God personified or you don't take partners such as Muhammad or Jesus to make God feel more humanly. I could be wrong but the more you realise God alone and figure out the attributes of God throughout the Quran, the better you will feel . I started and finished reading the Quran in April and trust me, the journey has only just began . Just remember to never say or believe anything without verification or researching for yourself the truth of the matter, avoid blind faith at all costs, pray/meditate regularly to find peace within yourself and trust me, you'll feel a lot better .

peace and welcome to Free-Minds , enjoy your stay

        i understand you-
I think it has to do with to take on responsibility, to sew God alone, without relying on others-traditional Muslims often drop of a problem simply in saying The scholars are our guides in the Deen, and if they interpret/teach it wrong, then they are responsible, not us ...so that is far from going to ponder over and understand the Quran and it is in fact followed blindly. This is indeed a lot easier and can give the feeling of being close to God, but in the end it is the exact opposite.
If a man / woman now exit this traditional structure of prescribed faith, comes first a big emptyness which shall be filled again with true devotion and genuine peace and selfless rapprochement to God-this is much more difficult, but much more valuable.
God will help you to come more near from Him inshaAllah- peace peace
