Food dedicated to other than God/Sacrificed on altars?
-
Can we ever be 100% sure that food we eat has not been dedicated to other than God?
How can we know that even "halal"-labelled food has not possibly been dedicated to Muhammad?
Is it our simple responsibility not to dedicate it to other than God, even if there is the chance that someone already has, do we nullify it??
I am in a situation, twice today, where I feel I cannot eat any meat because it may be prohibited...I only have possibly 2 hours or so until I go eat lunch with my father at a restaurant, so some quick answers will be greatly appreciated ) peace

It will be extremely difficult for me to go to a slaughterhouse, follow the food to the store and bring that food home to eat it...
There has to be something I am not seeing here, a solution...

I thought of a solution to the food dedicated to other than God part You can be standing in front of the person slaughtering, yet in their minds they can be dedicating the meat to other than God. You can never know for sure, it is always a possibility. Thus, I can only go to the point where unless I know for sure, I eat it.
Now, Sacrificed on altars... Unless I'm wrong, this can be understood as an explanation for food dedicated to other than God..
How can you possibly know if the food has been slaughtered on an altar? With the food dedicated to other than God, I went to the extreme in the situation that you are watching the slaughter happen. But with altars? Can you be watching and the place they slaughter is actually an altar but you don't know? Is that possible? Now I am stuck, once again. Must seek God's help.
