If you take the internet its definently increasing. Quranist are still fragmented however and most Quranist operate alone. We still have no literature that explains the Quranist persuasion since ideas are still being formulated. What we have is individual books explaining an individual perspective. Things will change when academics catch on and do some research on us.

if we see it from Marketing point of view, Quranist movement surely has a big advantage to surpass mainstream. unfortunately, most Quranist/quran alone are lack of this sense, we have to make world acknowledge us, so they will not consider sunnism and shiasm as a representative of Muslim Community.

Muslim world nowadays needs us to speak up, of course with more diplomatic communication rather than accusing them to do shirk for being a sunni or shia muslim

As far as shirk is concerned one way is to explain what shirk is

Things have come a LONG way in the last 17 years since I first came in. Now the quranists movement have actual organisations and conferences. All quranists have to do now is acknowledge their space in the Muslim world and we will break the dominance Traditional Islam.

Our main problem in my opinion is our own pretensions of authority. We need to duly acknowledge our own limitations and create SPACES rather than official interpretations. Sadly, some of us are bigger nazis than the Wahabis themselves.

What is crucial is to understand onself, and let others understand, that QA/Quranist/etc is not another group. It's an approach. It's not a sect beside other sects. While there are common denominators that may and may not set "us" apart from other groups, there are still so many differences within "our group". Basically it is an APPROACH to the quran and to reasoning... but the results and conclusions of that can and do vary alot. It's important to get this clear. We are all individuals to God, and we are not an exclusive group at all.

Nice one, Zulf! To me Quranist Islam is an association rather than organisation. I'm thinking of a 'carnival' arrangement.

The reason why I did not call this topic Quranist is beacuse then I make it to a sect and as God tells us in Quran to not becomne sects.
I named it Quran only beacuse we believe in God by using only the Quran. So Quran only is more like an explenation then puting us in a category.

                    Salaam brothers

I genuinely think there are a fair number of muslims who try to follow the quran alone already, without identifying themselves or even being aware of 'Quranists'.

There are but they (most, in my opinion, not to generalize) still practice/adhere according to hadith and 'sunnah' without questioning it.

I sometimes see people ask themselves, or ponder about things like, why do we say "qul audhu birabbinaas..." when the 'qul' is an instruction to say something... so why do we repeat the instruction instead of just saying what we are told to say... omitting the 'qul' in our expression?

If I may say so myself... when sectarian Muslims (i.e. common Muslims) start ponder things like this, or about what makes sense or what feels wrong, then I'm of the opinion that we are witnessing something called common sense and free and relaxed thought break the surface. These are glimpses of an alive spirit that bubbles up to the surface. There are plenty of people who have flashes of common sense even in religious matters, but this is not long lived under the suffocating rule of conformity and fear. We all have the spirit of reason in us. The question is whether or not our unconscious fear is more powerful, which it usually is.

                            Salaam,

                            Just a short input

We are all believers, commanded not to break into sects. Copying traditional prayers as long as they are devoted to God alone does not make one a hadithist or following the so-called "sunnah". We should not be forced to reinvent the religion just to follow God the way He wants. We have a problem, and that is being too concerned about being right or wrong, just do it and do it devoutly. Just do fall down on your knees, cross your hands, prostrate, do anything that God may forgive you for being weak and imperfect and committing sins. People have prostrated in respect to great people in all ages, not just invented Gods, but also important people. Of course we should only do this to God and no other person. God did not in detail command a certain procedure on how to pray and that has a reason. We are simply commanded to pray devoutly. Hints about how are given in the text, you know that yourselves.

Prostrating or falling down on knees or crossing hands offering a prayer to God is as natural as a common day handshake to someone you want to greet. I think you complicate things too much. Consider your intent is making God forgive you for something terrible you did, would you not do some extreme humiliating measures for Him to forgive you, that you may enter Paradise? Are you not afraid of Hell? Well, I am, and I do not take any risks, I fear God and I trust Him and I beg in any way I deem necessary for Him to forgive me. I do not care about uniformity, I am just concerned just that He may forgive me.

God has been very Merciful to me and I have been blessed throughout my life, even if I have been put to great tests. I am small on Earth and I require only patience and wisdom and I seek no wealth or fame. I feel God is with me and I am no Hadithist and I do not bother about some sunnah, I just serve God alone. I only want to call myself a believer, not Muslim, not Christian, not a Jew, simply a believer, that feels most appropriate. I respect that God is much bigger than me and He will give me the fate I deserve.

God bless you, that you may obtain certainty

                              Hi Everyone,

I think Quran alone is increasing but probably not because we are pushing it. More likely because traditionalists are having a difficult time fitting into Western society. Many just start doing things differently (even things that contradict hadith) to fit in. Are they hadith rejectors? No. Are the Quran alone? No. But they behave more like Quran alone.

                              Just my crazy thoughts.

There are no Quranists! It is just the ones who are in the path of Allah without committing shirk or associating human partners seeking and looking up to their Revelation for Allah's Guidance from and for His any single ayat. Allah alone is the Knower of all the secrets of creations of the heavens and the earth and all those in between. God is the only one who can Reveal of His Book to Guide each individual according to a measure, from his position at any given situation and strengthen him in His individualised and most comfortable path and to get him nearer and nearer towards Him. Nobody can reach up to Him and catch Him up, but you can only get nearer and nearer; and for this reason everybody, singly, shall have to be on the pilgrimage i.e, on the Haj to get nearer to, and strive to keep up his mental pose and poise with Allah and strive to be of the FOREMOST. And never commit shirk in following Allah at least for your life in this Universe for which Quran alone is the Guide and Allah alone is the Revealer of all the secret paths. Hence believe in and follow only the Wahi of Allah which would make us live on this earth making full use of the work of the seven heavens above us, so that at the time of the capturing of our souls, we are enlivened further and as an enlightened soul, by the leave of Allah, the angels make us enter cleaving the first sky and ushering us into newer and fresher and fresher world free from the satanised men and satanic jinns, in the rest of the seven skies above the earth, until the Day of Execution of the Judgement, pronounced upon each individually, at the time of our death.

Allah is All-Knowing and none of each individualised path of the seven billion people is out of His All-Encompassing power. Allah is pleased with each of those who individually look up to Him alone for the Revelation of His Verses without committing shirk of seeking explanation especially for the ayats of Allah, from the so called self proclaimed scholars in human arabic language but who have gotten nothing of Allah's Quranic communication by way of Inspiration.

Allah only allows us to have a counselling from the people of Allah, when we have certain doubts regarding the revelation that has come to us from Allah to get further clarification and choose the best of them all; yet if we still have doubts, we are ordained to return to the Book, again, and be in constant touch with Allah for clarification of His own Revelation.

According to Quran of Allah, there are no Quranists, but Only the enlightened souls i.e., the people of Allah, the Hizbollah, the FOREMOST!

                                Peace.

"Quran alone" is probably increasing due to the internet and the free access of information. The ideas are not new.... "quran alone" is certainly nothing new at all... and would be exactly as old as the quran itself... but then it might have gone out of fashion in some communities. There were however always people who promoted "quran alone". The apparent increase in "quran alone" is also due to that it is simply the truth, as opposed to man made shakles (that is forced upon people). Truth have a tendency to prevail.

                                    Cheers

                                      Salaam,

You are perfectly right, we can summarize your post by saying we are Believers, or like you said "the enlightened souls i.e., the people of Allah, the Hizbollah, the FOREMOST!". Hope you take no offense by me answering something short like this to summarize all that text.

Believer or something that gives a good definition which is not in contrast with the Quran. Calling yourself Quranist automatically renders it a contradiction to a commandment (recommendation in my viewpoint) in the Quran not to break yourselves into sects.

I praise your post Dr. Fazl, do not get me wrong. This kind of thinking is accurate to God's will. I suppose you may have read my own post with the similar topic.

God bless you and keep you going.

                                      Peace.

I praise your post Dr. Fazl, do not get me wrong. I suppose you may have read my own post with the similar topic.

Yes I did! It is heart-warming to see such of your posts having the Truth as their base and the added element of your fear for God. Really I take time to read your posts and brother zulf's, OP's posts and some other brothers' posts and I end up in prayers for all of you; so I do not answer your posts openly. When you praise someone I am sure you would never have forgotten to seek forgiveness from Allah, when you wake up to it - for All Praise be Unto Him, Him alone.

My Allah Bless And Guide Us; and increase Us in Our Fear for Him

                                        Fazlur Rahman

                                          Salaam brother Fazlur Rahman,

I am sure God sees that I do not praise you the way it becomes unrighteous, and if I praise someone it is because God had a hand in it, for He has a hand in everything good. But I am afraid of doing something wrong, even though I have prayed to God to let me know when I do something wrong, but I have gained confidence as of lately by the Grace of the Lord.

If we do something good, God had a big part in this doing, so praising them does not mean we do not praise God. Although it all comes down to your intention. All praise is due to Him, in all we do God was the Doer, and we must not forget he is the Watcher.

Now after a little moment I feel embarrassed over getting such a warm compliment from you and I really think we must share it with all the believers that struggle in the Path of God. Anyway, thank you, it would be rude not to appreciate it.

It seems people around me become blessed by my presence I have discovered lately, at least the worthy ones. It does not mean I do not pray for them, but I pray for all those who are worthy, and even those that are not yet on a straight path that they may be guided.

By the way, I had to say this even if it is irrelevant to this topic, or no it is actually relevant to this topic, but my wife was actually turned to the light side of the force earlier this month. I managed to persevere in my struggle to stay with an idol worshiper and she had been infused with the dark force and exposed heavily to the whispers of Satan and was like a demon to me, like those who read some of my calls for help in another thread. elektro

In respect of her privacy I will not say more than this, but she made her confession and repented to the Lord.

God willing, she will stay on the new path and will not revert to sin again. So I must say yes, the Quran only movement is growing, at least by one person bravo

God bless you all that you may prosper both in this life and the next
