WHY ARE SOME PEOPLE PREACHING HERE? And WHO IS MONITORING THESE THREADS?

Yeah like, why? why...WHY? Just WHY are some people preaching here?

(Thank you to some of you for pointing out that al-amiyr person). Seems to be "copying" and pasting the entire Quran.

Please look up wikipedia for the definition of a 'discussion forum'. I don't think 'Free-minds' is a space where preaching is welcomed. Particularly if it is not your original work.

WORSE some people are getting "followers" here of those who are 'preaching' (not sharing their knowledge, but seriously telling you what you should believe in).

Lastly, to resolve the mystery WHO IS THE ADMIN/s? who is monitoring this website? Why have you allowed so many irrelevant things being discussed on these forums? No wonder you have like over a 1000 posts per thread and over 10,000 views per thread. WHO ARE YOU man?

ALSO when you do come out, do you mind deleting that "TRASH" thread? I think it needs to be recycled because it is trash?

Also another request to you Do you mind stopping the discussions before people get onto each others throat? You are not helping by continuing these debates. Do definitely do something about the preaching though.

Do reflect back on your goals and the aim of this website. You may believe in freedom of speech, but when freedom of speech falls under anti-religious/ defamatory, racist and abusive grounds, it needs to be stopped. That may also include preaching.

Sure, it would be nice to have a place where people confined themselves to expressing absolute truth, all the time. How would you go about achieving that though?

We're all seekers here, we are looking for something. Many of us are searching by ourselves, with nobody to guide us except God (when we deserve it) and with Satan whispering in our minds and hearts (when we deserve that). People will listen to different sources of inspiration, and give expression to their various conclusions in forums such as this.

My advice to you is to not take people here too seriously. Read threads that interest you, ignore posters you think are wrong, and realize that this is not a highly moderated forum - I sometimes wish for stricter moderation myself, but that approach taken to its logical extreme would stifle pretty much all discussion, since pretty much all topics have been examined thoroughly previously by posters who are no longer active here.

People feel the need to preach, either because they are genuinely onto something that needs telling, or (more likely) because they are in some state of confusion. I sometimes preach too, mainly about the need to confine ourselves to what we really know and refrain from expressing our speculations and untested/unproven ideas like they were gospel truth, at the risk of misleading others as well as ourselves.

If you manage to sort the grains from the chaff, this place isn't half bad. A place for truth exclusively it isn't, which is why God sent us the Quran, and why He guides some of us on a personal level, I guess - we are always free (and have the duty) to go back to the Source of all knowledge in order to try and make sense of it all. If we fail in doing so, this site and others like it are bound to cause frustration and confusion more than anything. It is what it is, and while we might wish it to be something better, that's a hard thing to achieve, people being the way they are.

Tons the posts in al-amiyr's threads (and ones similar to it) are skepticism or doubt at al-amiyr's posts, mind you.

There was that period were a few different people consecutively started claiming they were divine messengers a while back too. I do wonder why this place gets so many people like that sometimes.

Hey there Magnus

I can understand the part about not taking people here too seriously. Given the lack of strictness as you know yourself. It is sad though. I wished we had a forum where I could carry out discussions with people who are listening to views from all sides, but oppose the whole "this is what you must do/ believe, if not I pray that Allah may guide you because you are just so wrong".

There are some good books available on this site. I really wonder if people read them.

I really hope the Admin is reading this though.

The way I would go about achieving this would be people writing "expository" explanations/ backing themselves up on what they are saying e.g a book, a verse from Quran (not the entire Quran), scholarly arguments, links to relevant articles/ book page numbers.

Above all, I had request the admin to invite "guest speakers" which can open a topic for discussion and thoughts can spring for there. At the minute, it is just about any random person coming and posting. And perhaps misusing this space to find themselves partners for relationships. Both men and women.

Really sad.
