    Peace!

    I have noticed this topic coming up every now and again. The term Al-Kitab could be thought of as referring to many things but here I see a verse which clarifies surely

    {53}
    And certainly We gave Musa the guidance, and We made the children of Israel inherit the Book,
    {54}
    A guidance and a reminder to the men of understanding.

    Now what did the children of Israel inherit? It is of course, the Torah, Moses' tablets. They inherited the custodianship of the Torah, THE guidance to THE entire human population of the world. Certainly a grand task/responsibility and certainly many did fail in their duty but certainly many did succeed. It could have gone to any nation amongst man but it went to the children of Israel specifically. And a monumental decision to do so, for it wrote the last three milleniums of the stories of our lives.

    {38}
    We said Go forth from this (state) all; so surely there will come to you a guidance from Me, then whoever follows My guidance, no fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve.

    Of course, that guidance mentioned here is intrinsically Al-Kitab. I believe this settles the debate surely, what do you guys think?

      I cannot follow you,

      What sttles what question?

      Also you say

      From the ayas themselves I cannot see that the tawrat or anything was given in exclusivity to anybody. I mean how what it says in 40.53-54 can be understood as being something exclusive to a certain group of people. The Qur'an says in other ayas that guidance has bene sent to every nation.

        Peace,

        I think the Message was aimed at those who took heed of it. Since the Message in that case was written on stone tablets it was meant to be observed and then spread verbally and perhaps written down on parchment.

        It was probably the first example of God's exact words being written down.

        But it is not unknown that God made a covenant with the Children of Israel. However, how many times have they not broken their covenant?

        God bless you

            The Al-Kitaab is a book within the holy books, so to speak. It is concealed or hidden behind seals such that if you do not have the ability to remove or decipher the seals then you will not have the ability to open up the Al-Kitaab. So, it isn't just the Torah or the Injeel or the Qur'an itself, but rather it is woven in and throughout these holy books.

            I believe Al-Kitaab is the book spoken of in Revelation chapter 5 where it says

            Revelation 5
            1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
            2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
            3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon.
            4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon.
            5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

            Therefore, we can identify who the Root of David is who shall establish the Father's Kingdom in the end times because he will have prevailed to be found worthy to open up the Al-Kitaab and make this Guidance from Allah plain and clear. The knowledge from the Al-Kitaab enables all who acquire it to participate in the establishment of the Father's Kingdom that Jesus taught all to look for and pray for the coming of. Jesus, as the Lion of Judah, had the knowledge of the Al-Kitaab and so too shall the Father, the Root of David, have it when He comes to establish His Kingdom here on earth. It is the understanding of the Al-Kitaab that shall rally the true believers and lovers of Allah to their eternal salvation.

            I would like to add that it will be a revelation of truth that has been in front of everyone's eyes but evading everyone's focus. It will be a gathering of truths that will be like gathering together many bits and pieces of a sword that have been scattered among many religious sects and denominations awaiting the time to be forged back together. Somewhat like the sword that Tolkien had Lord Aragorn wield as the leader in the fight for middle earth's salvation.

            This "book" will be hated by all who are dogmatically tied to their own religious sect or denomination because it shall also oppose very significant dogmas in all religious sects and denominations. Only those who have the mind and humility of a little child who are willing to listen and be taught this great revelation will overcome their own self-inflicted blindness due to pride and false traditions handed down to them.

            This is also my concern for those who are only focused on the Qur'an and who neglect the other holy books. The knowledge of the Al-Kitaab shall unite and make clear all of the holy books, not just the Qur'an. And, I also believe if you omit any of the holy books you remove the power of the additional witnesses. And, most importantly, if you remove the first holy book, the Torah, that you render yourself unable to open the Al-Kitaab at all because the seals of the Al-Kitaab are in the Torah itself.

              Peace Kalix guru,

              I can see that you are quite blessed, you words carry some Wisdom.

              You are right, al-kitab is the Message and not a physical book. You can say the Message is the whole abstract story put into one definition. It is like God's storybook from start to finish.

              The old scriptures which were bundled up into the Old Testament and New Testament contain stories written down by prophets or their followers through divine inspiration and who were giving their testimony of the events which occured throughout history. This Wisdom and Knowledge is the foundation of the Message.

              The Message is not bound to the books and is, like I mentioned above, tied to God's story from start to finish. The Message has always been the same, only some minor details changed, as you may witness if you read one of the Gospel testimonies, and Quran which was the first scripture to contain God's exact own words. Before that it was only Moses' stone tablets which contained God's exact wordings (which may have been distorted with time since the original tablets are lost somehow).

              God tries to make people sure that Quran is His words, but people does seem to still neglect this fact. The biggest issue today is to decipher the exact Message due to the age of the scripture. But with knowing what we know today we can be good believers, no doubt about it. Just be rational and all will be well.

              Those who believe in God and put all their trust in Him will receive the true Message no matter lost, distorted or misinterpreted. The Message is not bound to a book, the books are only mediums for understanding. The Quran is a blessing and a Guide to mankind, like an answer key to optimal living for becoming redeemed.

              You were right when you said we should not be so soaked up with the Quran so we forget the Message which may be found anywhere, from the Wisdom of a wise man to the passages of the Bible. The wise man may be infused with the Holy Spirit and the Bible's stories written by righteous men.

              But, the Quran contains the answer key to life, no doubt about it. The Bible I read to grasp parts of the lives of people who were righteous and not about their practices, for that I use the Quran since it was a Message composed by God Himself and sufficient for this purpose.

              Can you deny that some verses in the Bible carry immense Wisdom?

              There can be found lots of inspiration for daily living in the Bible despite its age (and partial distortion).

              God bless you

                As I said, the seals to open up Al-Kitaab are in the Bible.
                And, the Qur'an is given to confirm the Al-Kitaab.

                Except, after having said this, why is it I am only hearing crickets chirping, so to speak?

                  Books----plural in Arabic signifies three and more.
