    Assalamu Allaikum,

I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Bilal and I am a revert to Islam. A few years ago I left Islam because I saw many problems with it (which I now have come to realize were all from hadith teachings outside the Quran). I was an atheist and by Allah's blessing I came back to Islam, but the pure Islam (Ahle Qur'an).

I have been studying the Quran for the past year on my own and alhamdulillah, almost all questions of mine regarding the book have been answered. The remaining questions are part of the journey in understanding my place on this earth under the one true God, and insh'Allah with the right company (my brothers and sisters here), my iman will insh'Allah strengthen.

I have had countless debates and arguments with both muslims and nonmuslims. Many muslims call me kafir for my rejection of hadith, and I'm sure many of you have received similar remarks. I am pessimistic about the system of Islam as it is practiced in the world and have for some time now stopped visiting the mosque because most of the khutbahs I hear are almost exclusively hadith-based, and the Quran is ignored. We must all remember that even in diversity, we must be humble and remember that we too are learning and that our brothers and sisters in every system of faith and even those with the absence of faith must be approached with love, or we can never truly share Islam.

While I often see myself as a fool, I still am trying my best to follow Allah in the right way

"The true servants of the Most Merciful are those who behave gently and with humility on earth, and whenever the foolish quarrel with them, they reply with peace."
    (25 63)

This is why I personally refer to myself as an "aspiring muslim." I want to be a muslim, and I look forward to having very good conversations and discussions with all of you kind souls here insh'Allah.

    Salaam )

      Peace,

Welcome to the forum. Hope you will enjoy your stay.

I understand why you stopped going to the mosque. I got tired of hearing ?Allahumma salli 'ala Muhammad wa Ali Muhammad? every other minute while being there. It feels like obvious shirk and a true Believer is told not to pray in such mosque.

Unfortunately, some days I have no alternative than going to the mosque while being on travel, but then I stand in my own corner and quickly finish up my prayer. If I can, I pray in the grass somewhere.

The problem I see with the Friday sermon is that it is too much commemoration of Muhammad and his family rather than focus on God. It is not even moderate level but on a high level.

      God bless you

        Peace,

I think muslims have forgotten the Qur'an, when Allah specifically tells us not to make any distinctions between the prophets, to view them all as equals. The shahadah has been corrupted. Since we added Muhammad-ar Rasulallah, we have made a distinction and placed him above the others.

And then we are labeled kafir? I honestly cannot relate at all to these people anymore - those who equate the wearing of beards with spiritual piety. God help us all.

          Peace,

But beards can be cool. I have beard 'in real life' and it is not because of religion but as personal preference. I think a man may look wise in it, especially when you have gone past 30.

Even my daddy has beard and he is an atheist and has nothing to do with religion.

          God bless you

            Peace Bilal,

            Welcome (again)!

I also came back to Islam. I was never really religious and followed Paganism essentially. I look back on it sometimes and I can see some good things such as respecting and appreciating the Earth, its seasons and gifts, which anyone do... but then other things I just look back and think it doesn't make sense, how does it really fit together, such as the conception of God - it can actually get quite confusing and the sometimes I look at the statues of Deities and it really feels so far apart from the concept of Deity - Allah swt - as I understand it now and as I guess I always understood it but neglected for a bit - which I really regret but Alhamdulilah all thanks and praise to Allah and His Infinite Mercy I am back to understanding the reality of Islam and how I always knew this message.

I like what you have to say about approaching people with kindness and not with quarrel. We may have differences and disagree sometimes strongly and some people may never come to the path but there is no point creating division which leads to hostile division. I have pondered if those types of people who do create such hostile divisions when they can be avoided are actually following a sectarian approach. The Quran mentions do not divide yourself into groups each being happy with your own lot, it seems talking about actual behaviour not just labels. There are some following Quran only who do take on a more fundamentalist approach and maybe this is what the Quran cautions us against.

But beards can be cool. I have beard 'in real life' and it is not because of religion but as personal preference. I think a man may look wise in it, especially when you have gone past 30.

            Peace Man of Faith,

I think he means when people say that a beard is part of faith and practice and that it shows a higher level of appreciation of Islam etc. In your scenario, this wouldn't be the case because you aren't saying God has commanded you when there is no such command or that you are religiously more pure and pious because of it.

The same thing can happen with the headscarf, women may look down on others who don't wear one because they think it shows a greater religious awareness. This is not the case though.

I completely agree on the points about not making distinction between Messengers. This has clearly happened, and like you said, its reflected in the shahadah or declaration of faith.

I love all of you and you have made me feel welcome. It is the first time in a long time that I have felt comfortable around muslims; truth is, I was uncomfortable around "muslims," (quotes relevant), and now I have met people whom I see as muslims (no quotes, also relevant). )

                God bless you all.

Alhamdulillah you have come back to Islam. Many Muslims become ex-Muslims because of the hadith garbage. I have also realized that the main problem of Islam today is not Geert Wilders or Robert Spencer but the hadiths. Hadith is a form of chinese whispers because hadiths are orally transmitted. Hadiths that are falsely attributed to Prophet and real history of Prophet Muhammad are two different things because hadiths are orally transmitted while validity of history depends on manuscripts, logic etc. The so-called 'Imam' Bukhari was a superhuman eh rotfl .

I have watched several videos from this Youtube channel httpwww.youtube.com/user/QuranVsHadith and this user made a lot of useful and informative videos about this hadith garbage and the videos make hadith lovers angry LOL. I don't understand why hadith lovers still defend their garbage despite the proofs Quran-only Muslims have given and shown and hadith lovers keep calling us Quran-only Muslims kaffirs but why do they never call Mullah Omar the father of Taliban and other terrorists kaffirs? Because the terrorists are good followers of hadith garbage?

They keep questioning us "how do you pray, fast etc?" and keep telling us "follow God and follow messenger" and keep believing that following messenger means following the hadith garbage. But they never understand why we reject the hadith garbage and what qualities we have by being Quran-only Muslims such as we promote peace, tolerance, justice for both women and men, justice for whole mankind, kindness, mercy. They forgot Allah's mercy. All they know is telling other people to go to hell for rejecting the hadith garbage. All they know is telling women to wear hair towel or women will go to hell for not covering their hair and some even believe that women should not reveal anything except one eye because women cannot show their beauty. And I'm sick of the manipulation of Sura 2431 and 434 by hadith-loving scholars who justify their antifeminism by using hadith to (mis)interpret the word khumur in 2431 into head-coverings or veils but the true meaning of khimar (singular of khumur) means anything that covers something. And they justify their male chauvinism by (mis)interpreting the word idribuhunna in 434 into "beat", "scourge" or "smack" but it is a multi-meaning word which also means to seperate from, to explain and many more. Some translators still try to justify it by adding the word 'lightly' or 'if needed' in parenthesis after the word 'beat'.

Quran- Monotheist translation is the best English Quran translation I think.

And stupid hadith-loving scholars want to make us Muslims become stupid by prohibiting music. And they add "music, singing etc" in parenthesis after phrase 'purchase idle tales" in verse 316. In fact people with high IQ consist of musicians, composers and artists/painters. Well as far as I know idle tales are the hadith garbage. Am I right? And I think hadith about 72 female virgins in heaven thing is stupid. And they distort the meaning of this Quranic verse "And a cup that is full" (7834) into "and full bre*sted".

And I am sick of being told that keeping dog is prohibited. In fact Allah allows us to take what the dog has cathed for us.

Hadithers lie when they say Quran is the primary source while hadith is the 2nd but they uphold hadith much higher above Quran and they don't use Quran to validate hadith because they use the chinese whispers isnad to validate hadith. Instead, they use hadith to "explain" and add words in Quran.

Btw for the hadithers, this entertaining video has shown us how to pray according to Quran only. I laughed so hard while warching this.

I believe there may be some truth in some ahadith, but that doesn't even matter because they are not necessary, so why place ourselves in a hole we don't need to be in? That's what my feeling is now regarding hadith, because Qur'an is sufficient for me. I can very much understand why muslims believe ahadith are necessary, but the closed minds prevent reasoning from having valid discussions. At this stage, I have stopped debates and all that because now I realize how useless debates are. It's just an exhibition of cats chasing tails.

Music is very important to me, and by the rationale of hadith-inspired teachings, many things would be prohibited accordingly this computer I am on, the internet, television, movies, video games, etc. If you remove these things from a child, the risk of social problem will become very high. I am disturbed by the "blindfold" methodology that is being taught for muslim parents hide your kids from the world to save them. That is not going to work at all, because it is inevitable we live in this real world. Instead of hiding from it, give the children swords and shields (metaphorically) to deal with the world and be strong among it.

Music in and of itself is not at all haraam, it is the type of music which constitutes its quality. In fact, the great physicist Michio Kaku has stated that the universe is in harmony through music (quite literally - music and math are very closely related). In this way, God Himself is conducted a multi-universe orchestra through His mathematical laws. It's extraordinary.

Dogs... By the Grace of Allah, what majestic creatures. Qur'an speaks highly of dogs, as Allah includes them in the tale of the cave dwellers. So many good stories I have read about dogs, and I myself am a psychology student, and I have also read on the positive effects of therapy dogs on mentally unstable individuals. Dogs truly are man's best friend in many respects, and I cannot believe how these non-God laws have prohibited them.

In the name of Allah, I think most muslims don't really know what is in the ahadith anyway. Although Allah says in Qur'an, "Do not uphold that which you have no knowledge of." Alas, it is the nature of man.

                    Peace be with you all.

                      Salamun'alaikum

Hello Bilal, welcome to the forum. My real name is Tegar from Indonesia, but in this forum just call me Earthdom because I won't spoiling my full identity in this forum due certain circumstances.

Yeah your story is similiar to me.Before I became Quran alone, I used to became a faithful Sunni.Since child I just been taught for reciting Arabic, five pillar doctrinations, and another Sunni teologies and I did all kinds of Sunnah like do Monday-Thursday fasting, salat Tahajud, reciting Quran after Salat, do dzikir by reciting like Qunut, Ayat Kursi, or another prayer, when I'm still in high school I sometime did Salat dhuha during school break time and another Sunnah from Hadith.

But five month ago, I'dont know but it's like wind blowing my face suddenly I got confused about hadiths for why so many contradictions with the Quran.Ulema says if Ahadiths explaining verses in the Quran then hadith about grave torture, picture prohibition is explaining about what?My faith is shaken because of it, then I got discussion with my Islamic senior, he say something ordinary like "We must follow Nabi Muhammad"I just more-more confused plus after realizing more about anykind of distortion about hadith .I locked myself in my room for hours and humble myself to Allah, I pray like "Ya Allah why became like this, Ya Allah where is the truth, how I can reach Your path".

Then I decide to open my laptop, accesing internet then type word "anti hadith" without conscious.I was shocked after knowing if there is Quran alone Islam existed, very terrible, even I never heard such kind of movement because Indonesian Quranist already doomed on 1980s by Sunni Authority (Majelis Ulama Indonesia) and now they working in the shadow and rarely a person know about them. Thanks Allah,You gave me hidayah and accepted my humbling.

After that I browsing more and more about Quran alone, reading some articles and finally found this forum then even my english is not too good, I brave myself to registering as Earthdom.

Sorry for my bad grammar, cause I'm not english speaker.

                      Salam

I completely understand. It is a difficult journey, and others hate us for these beliefs, but in the name of Allah, it is a blessing for me to hear your story. Insh'Allah I look forward to having conversations with you and all here, brothers and sisters.

Assalamu Alaikum everybody, my name is Muhammed Abdul-Ghaffar and I'm new to this site. Throughout my life I was a Sunni Muslim, following the Hadith as a child, and to this day I'm 16 years old. Although I followed Hadith, deep down I felt something in my heart that what I was hearing was incorrect, and I was only a child. It was then that in 2012 I was shown the path by Allah the Almighty, it made me feel relieved that I was shown such a clear path. To be honest, I'm still struggling with myself, I don't know about other people but I at times I feel doubt, that I if I'm not successful in this life, that I'd be unfulfilled. Of course my main goal is to get to Paradise inshallah, at the same time I want to be the best person that I can be in this life. If one has faith in Allah then nothing in this life should be impossible right?

If you merely leave your blasphemous ways, ie believe in man-made talk and stop showing reverence for Muhammad and family, God will forgive you and put you on a straight path. You need not to worry, and I recommend you to follow what I wrote in the other thread, your introduction.

stop showing reverence for Muhammad and family

So it is those who believe in him (the Prophet), honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper. (Surah 7158 Bismillah included)

Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet O ye that believe! Send ye blessings on him, and salute him with all respect. (Surah 3357 Bismillah included)

Holy Quran commands true believers to respect and honor the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). Holy Quran also mentions that the hypocrites disrespect the Prophet Sallallahu alaihi wasallam.

                                Peace,

I respect the prophet Muhammad and I obey him by following the Quran. Notice that he is no longer alive. It is hard to salute him or whatever you wanna do to greet him since he's gone to the next world. He does not hear you.

I am sure he is fine at God's side in the Higher Heaven (although it is a guess, the probability is high). He is in no need for us and we can greet him when we meet him in person, if he wants to see you of course.

The prophets are in my memory, but sorry I have to live my own life and obey God. He delivered the Quran and by obeying the Message he came with I honor him.

I am curious where you get the words of disrespecting Muhammad from? He was just an ordinary man like you and me who was chosen to carry out an honorable mission. He would think the same about it, I mean he would be modest and not wanting much light. He was big because God wanted it and helped him or he would have been dragging with the same human flaws. He put his trust in God alone and God rewarded him with Knowledge and Wisdom. Had it not been for God's assistance he would have failed, as you can find out by opening the Book.

                                God bless you

                                  Peace,

I respect the prophet Muhammad and I obey him by following the Quran. Notice that he is no longer alive. It is hard to salute him or whatever you wanna do to greet him since he's gone to the next world. He does not hear you.

So you can't pray for the dead who have passed away?

                                    Peace,

Yes. But what is the point in that regarding Muhammad? You knew he was a chosen one and need not worry he is risking Hell.

I think about my grandmother sometimes but see no reason to pray for her since I cannot change her fate as her test is over already. I can only wish she somehow made it to paradise anyhow, but my prayers will not help her.

Better pray for your living relatives and family and friends, and the impoverished neighbor.

You said praying for Muhammad? What do you wish him which he has not already?

You can wait until you die and thank him, but he will most certainly reply "Please do not thank me, thank the one who sent me. He is the praiseworthy".

                                    God bless you

From your post we see that

                                      a) Hadith rejectors do not pray for the dead, even their loved ones
                                      b) Hadith rejectors should not pray at all, since everything is decided by fate. No point to pray ever for anything

Hadith rejectors only pray for living people, but they don't pray for the dead. What kind of religion is this?

The Quran even mentions that the Believers pray for those who have passed away before them

And those who came after them say "Our Lord! Forgive us, and our brethren who came before us into the Faith, and leave not, in our hearts, rancour (or sense of injury) against those who have believed. Our Lord! Thou art indeed Full of Kindness, Most Merciful." (Surah 5911 Bismillah included)

Therefore praying for the dead is practice of Muslims who follow Sunnah. But Quran-only people do not pray for the dead, therefore so called Quran-only people are going against teachings of the Quran.

And yes the Prophet (peace be upon him) is guaranteed Heaven, but still we should pray for him even for the sake of praying, because prayer itself makes a person closer to Allah.

Why do you need to greet Prophet Muhammad in your prayer in order to pray for all believers passed on?

Because the Quran specifically commands us to sent salam on the Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam). It says 'Salimoo Tasleema' and this is for emphasis, meaning "Send lots and lots and lots of Salam to the Prophet Sallallahu alaihi wasallam" As you can see this is a Quranic commandment (which Hadith rejectors don't follow).
