Nearness and Guidance -> Knowledge and Wisdom = Peace and Prosperity

4142 The hypocrites seek to deceive God, while He is deceiving them; and if they are mindful of the lesson, they are so reluctantly, only to show the people; they do not regard God except very little.
This also seems to have gone out of the grip. It is better to take little time which will help concentration and get firmer grip on the intended understanding.
-
I did not intend to be perfect. You ought to get the point. But thanks for correcting.
Completed can verily be understood in a way so it fits with lesson. Finished the lesson perhaps. It sounds just fine, does it not?
Decreed appointment was just based entirely on the traditional interpretation. You can perhaps say commanded chore or something that fits. The underlying message should anyway come through.
How about traditional "book that is scheduled" then. How much sense does that make?
Anyway the lesson is important matter and that the passage speaks of.
It is good that you bring it to attention though because I happily use help from others in my work. It is heavy enough clearing out 1000 years of falsehood and not being wrong here and there from time to time.

Peace,
Just doing my thinking sessions takes hours and the substance of the interpretation takes a long time. I must both work interpreting and finding a viable translation of English words that fits the Arabic words and people not foreign to the work likely know it is not that easy. I need to be cautious of errors in how the words are understood too so it takes time.
Mindful of the lesson was just an early improvisation to reveal the salat word in its true light. As it reads out should not be so hard. They are reluctant to be mindful of the teachings taught by the prophet. In an English translation you may have to paraphrase the whole sentence. And this work is exhausting enough that I sit and rephrase every little passage in the whole recitation.
-
In the intended scheme of things you are trying, the word "lesson" seems somewhat odd at many places; then Aqeemu needs to be stretched to the extent of giving it the meanings of "remember". If lesson is replaced by "divine lesson" or "divine message" then you can use' "they stand by the divince lesson/message"; "be mindful of standing by the divince lesson/message"-------

Peace,
Time for another salat post, part three, time consuming but yet important. Brother Mazhar was kind of pointing out some translational issues of my recent work, but I think I corrected the flaws in subsequent posts. By the day I get around finishing my personal translation of the whole recitation where I go through every single little word in it, God willing, then there will not be problems like that. Now I am more focused on bringing forth the truth about salat.
M o F "Salat" proposition v. 1.1.1 part III
The teaching/preaching/lesson
Please allow me to continue from where I left off last night.2435 God is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which there is a lamp, the lamp is encased in a glass, the glass is like a radiant planet, which is lit from a blessed olive tree that is neither of the east nor of the west, its oil nearly gives off light even if not touched by fire. Light upon light, God guides to His light whom He pleases. And God sets forth examples for the people, and God is aware of all things.
2436 In homes that God has permitted to be raised and His name regarded in them glorifying/honoring Him therein in the mornings and the evenings...
2437 ...by men not distracted by trade or sale from the regard for God and remember the lesson and contribute towards purification. They fear a Day when the hearts and sight will be overturned.
2438 God will reward them for the best of what they did, and He will increase them from His grace. And God provides for whom He wishes without reckoning.Green I am going to research on too after this project is over on salat. It is the focus right now. It is important that the word does not mean to ritualistically pray but rather to be impressed or amazed by the blessings of God.
2441 Do you not see that everything in the heavens and the earth glorifies/honors God? Even the birds in formation, each knows its lesson and its glorification. And God is fully aware of everything they do.
2442 And to God is the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and to God is the final destiny.Red It is an instruction that they obviously simply know. They are but animals and they were made to know what they do and they have no real own free will. We all know about instincts, right? They thus simply know their lesson and no fussiness about that. The lesson for us humans is to look onto nature and see how things work over there.
2455 God promises those among you who believe and do good works, that He will make them successors on the earth, as He made successors of those before them, and He will enable for them their system which He has approved for them, and He will substitute faith for them in place of fear ?That they serve Me, not setting up anything with Me.? And as for those who oppose after that, these are the wicked.
2456 And remember the lesson and contribute towards purification, and obey the messenger, that you may attain mercy.
2457 Do not think that those who disbelieve will remain in the land. Their abode is Hell. What a miserable destiny!
2458 O you who believe, "inform"/let those among you listen who are maintained by your oaths and those who are immature among you at three times after the dawn lesson, and when you put off your garments from the noon time, and after the evening lesson. These are three times for you. Other than these times it is not wrong for you or them to "have fun with one another". God thus clarifies the revelations for you. And God is Knowledgeable, Wise.
2459 And when your children become mature, then let them listen like it was sought by those before them. God thus clarifies His revelations for you. And God is Knowledgeable, Wise.Blue The most damned abused phrase in the whole recitation to advocate idolatry of the prophet called Muhammad. People do not reflect upon what was intended to be obeyed by this command.
Red Here you practically have what the prophet should be obeyed regarding.
Green I tried to find a viable translation of this one and it does not seem to be about putting off garments at noon, but I "think" it talks about having a noon break.2458 is still in an analytical phase, but I share with you as far as I have come in the understanding of it. As far as I am concerned it talks about informing your family about the things that you are taught of the decree and the lesson of God to those who are young within your household or perhaps not attending the prophet's classes. It may be that this is a commandment while in a learning phase and to spread the information from the prophet's teachings.
Of course I am aware that my translation attempt may not completely reflect what the original language says, but it ought to be something like this. And important point is that it does not justify a ritualistic prayer whatsoever. This passage is important to nullify ritualistic prayer timings at all. One important factor that I found earlier on the salat word is this
The salat word does not carry an 'AL' prefix in the passage. It may not look like anything, but it is actually important because it renders it less an attribute. I leave the passage to the discretion of each reader, but you have my interpretation. To me it looks a little like part of the parents' duty of rearing of your children to teach the boundaries of God and why God is so amazing.
that the base word used for this long word (ُ derived from, connote on ear and likely as listen to in a derivative form.
271 T?S, these are the signs of the recitation and a clear decree.
272 A guide and good news to the believers.
273 Those who remember the lesson and contribute towards purification, and regarding the Hereafter they are certain.
2942 God knows that what they are calling on besides Him is nothing. He is the Noble, the Wise.
2943 Such are the examples We put forth for the people, but none comprehend except the knowledgeable.
2944 God created the heavens and the earth with truth. In that is a sign for the faithful.
2945 Recite what is inspired to you of the decree and remember the lesson, for this lesson prohibits immorality and vice; but certainly the regard for God is the greatest. God knows everything you do.
2946 And do not argue with the adherents of the decree except in that which is better; except for those who are wicked among them; and say ?We believe in what was revealed to us and in what was revealed to you, and our god and your god is the same; to Him we submit.?
2947 And similarly, We have sent down to you the decree. Thus, those whom We have given the decree will believe in it. Also, some of your people will believe in it. The only ones who mock Our revelations are the opponents.
2948 You were not reciting any decree before this, nor were you writing one down by your hand. In that case, the doubters would have had reason.
2949 In fact, it is a clear revelation in the chests of those who have been given knowledge. And it is only the wicked who doubt Our revelations.
2950 And they said ?If only signs would come down to him from his Lord!? Say ?All signs are with God, and I am but a clear warner.?
2951 Is it not enough for them that We have sent down to you the decree that is being recited to them? In that is a mercy and a regard for people who believe. Please realize that you have been beguiled by the fools of history!
Red highlighted and underlined text in 2951 They asked for signs while the prophet recited the decree straight from his mouth and because it was his sign they could not believe in him. Men always want material apparitions. They do not realize that it may be a sign that a man can understand something that others fail to understand.
3030 So establish yourself to the system of monotheism. It is the inclination that God has nurtured the people on. There is no changing in the creation of God. Such is the pure system, but most of the people do not know.
3031 Turn to Him, and be aware of Him, and remember the lesson and do not be of the associators.
3032 From those who have divided their system and become sects, each group is happy with what it has.
3033 And if harm afflicts the people, they call out sincerely to their Lord. But then, when He gives them a taste of His mercy, a group of them set up partners with their Lord!Blue This is an interesting phenomenon. People indulge in idolatry of the prophets and God knows what, but if they are in danger they sit and cry and call upon the Master. How fascinating to me and I suppose it is the same to my Master.
312 These are the signs of the decree of wisdom.
313 A guide and a mercy for the good doers.
314 Those who remember the lesson and contribute towards purification and regarding the Hereafter they are certain.
315 These are on a guidance from their Lord, and they are the successful ones.
316 And from the people, there are those who will hold on to a baseless narrative which misleads from the path of God without knowledge and make it a mockery. These will have a humiliating retribution.
317 And when Our revelations are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he did not hear them, as if there is a deafness in his ears. So announce to him a painful retribution.
318 Those who believe and do good works, for them will be gardens of bliss. The phenomenon happened with the so-called hadith of Muhammad and sadly the recitation that was authentic misled from the path of God too by people who just buy an interpretation without questioning. They should not buy it that easily. In fact the original Arabic was quite similar to English in terms of buying something abstractly. I feel that the so-called "contact prayer" makes quite a mockery out of the decree of God. And many people will turn away from what I say arrogantly without even considering what he heard/read.
3113 And Luqmaan said to his son, while he was advising him ?O my son, do not set up any partners with God; for setting up partners is an immense wrongdoing.?
3114 And We enjoined man regarding his parents. His mother bore him with hardship upon hardship, and his weaning takes two years. You shall give thanks to Me, and to your parents. To Me is the final destiny.
3115 If they strive to make you set up any partners besides Me, then do not obey them. But continue to treat them amicably in this world. You shall follow only the path of those who have sought Me. Ultimately, you all return to Me, then I will inform you of everything you have done.
3116 ?O my son, if it be anything, even the weight of a mustard seed, be it deep inside a rock, or be it in the heavens or the earth, God will bring it. God is Sublime, Expert.?
3117 ?O my son, remember the lesson and advocate righteousness and prohibit vice and be patient to what befalls you. These are the most honorable traits.?
3118 ?And do not turn your cheek arrogantly from people, nor shall you roam the earth insolently. For God does not love the arrogant show off.?
3119 ?And be meek in how you are and lower your voice. For the harshest of all voices is the voice of the donkeys.?Red 3113-16 is the lesson that Luqmaan's son is told to remember, and everything else that he ever said to him in the light of God.
Here comes very misogynist passages of the recitation taking by a traditional interpretation. I will eventually solve the unfairness, God willing. I have not found anything unfair that has not been caused by misinterpretation.
3332 O women of the prophet, you are not like any other women. If you are righteous, then do not speak too softly, lest those with disease in their hearts will move with desire; you shall speak in an honorable manner.
3333 You shall be content modest in your homes assemblies and do not show off like in the old days of ignorance. You shall remember the lesson and contribute towards purification and obey God and His messenger. God wishes to remove any taint from you, O adherents to the assembly and to purify you completely.
3334 And recall all that is being recited in your assemblies of the revelations of God and the wisdom. God is Sublime, Expert.Blue This does NOT refer to wives of the prophet, but the women within the assembly. So polygamy advocates can go elsewhere look to justify their abomination. To those who are on the other extreme, I must say that it tells women not to act "sexily" to lure men into immorality.
3341 O you who believe, you shall constantly regard God.
3342 And glorify Him morning and evening.
3343 He is the One who teaches you, along with His angels, to bring you out of darkness and into the light. And He is ever Merciful towards the believers.
3356 God and His angels teach the prophet. O you who believe, let yourselves be taught by him, and comply completely.
3357 Surely those who harm God and His messenger, God will curse them in this world and in the Hereafter; and He has prepared for them a shameful retribution.
3358 And those who harm the believing males and the believing females, with no just reason, they have brought upon themselves a slander and a gross sin.Red When the prophet was around there were no linguistic issues and we obey the prophet by adhering to this decree in the recitation, but we need to study it carefully first due to reasons you already know. This was not an invitation to idolatry of the prophet who is a humble servant of God.
I wonder where the teachings which are not mentioned in this narrative come from though that the sectarians adhere to.
3515 O people, you are the poor when it comes to God, while God is the Rich, the Praiseworthy.
3516 If He wishes, He could do away with you and He would bring a new creation.
3517 And this is not difficult for God.
3518 And none can carry the load of another; and even if it calls on another to bear part of its load, no other can carry any part of it, even if they were related. You will only be able to warn those who are concerned towards their Lord while unseen, and they remember the lesson. And whoever contributes, is contributing for himself. And to God is the final destiny.
3529 Surely, those who recite the decree of God and remember the lesson, and spend secretly and openly from what We have provided them, they are seeking a trade that can never lose.
3530 He will give them their recompense, and He will increase them from His blessings. He is Forgiving, Thankful.
3531 And what We inspired to you from the decree, it is authentic, truthful to what is in his possession. God is Expert over His servants, Seer.
4236 So whatever you are given is simply an enjoyment of the worldly life, and what is with God is far better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord.
4237 And those who avoid major sins and immorality, and when they are angered, they forgive.
4238 And those who have responded to their Lord, and they remember the lesson, and their affairs are conducted by mutual consultation among themselves, and from Our provisions to them they give.
4239 And those who, when injustice befalls them, they seek justice.
4240 The recompense for a crime shall be its equivalence, but whoever forgives and makes right, then his reward is upon God. He does not like the wrongdoers.
5812 O you who believe, if you wish to hold a private meeting with the messenger, you shall offer a charity before you do so. This is better for you, and purer. If you cannot do so, then God is Forgiver, Merciful.
5813 Are you reluctant to offer a charity before such meeting? If you cannot do such, and God has forgiven you; then you shall remember the lesson and contribute towards purification, and obey God and His messenger. God is fully Aware of everything you do.
5814 Have you noted those who befriended people with whom God is angry? They are now neither from you nor from them. And they deliberately swear to lies while they know!Honestly I would like to look deeper into the above passages because they seem nonsensical. It could be to offer your services in conjunction with being taught by the lesson of the prophet. I will look at it at some point.
629 O you who believe, if the lesson is called to at the gathering day, then you shall hasten towards the regard for God, and cease all selling. This is better for you, if only you knew.
6210 Then, once the lesson is finished, you shall disperse through the land and seek the provisions of God, and constantly regard God that you may succeed.
6211 And if they come across any trade, or some entertainment, they rush to it and leave you, mind saying ?What God possesses is far better than entertainment or trade. And God is the best Provider.?You see how oblivious people are of God.
7021 And when good touches him he is stingy.
7022 Except those who are of the lesson
7023 ...observant of what it teaches them. Please mind that the two passages seem to be separated and slightly tricky to assembly together as clause.
7034 And those who observant of their lesson.
Please respect that I have difficulty putting words to the above passage.
7320 Your Lord knows that you rise a little less than two thirds of the night, and half of it, and one third of it; and a group of those who are with you. And God measures the night and the day. He knows that you will not be able to keep-up, so He pardons you. So study what is made easy of the recitation. He knows that there will be polluted among you and others that go forth in the land seeking from the bounty of God, and others who are fighting in the cause of God, so read what you can of it. And remember the lesson and contribute towards purification and lend God a loan of righteousness. And whatever you put forth yourselves, you will find it with God, for it is better and a greater reward. And seek the forgiveness of God, for God is Forgiving, Merciful.
7443 They said ?We were not as those who were taught.?
7530 To your Lord on that Day he will be driven.
7531 For he was not pure nor taught.
7532 But he denied and turned away.
7533 Then he went to his family admiring himself.
8714 Whoever purifies/improves will succeed.
8715 And regards the name of his Lord, so he will be taught.
968 To your Lord is the return.
969 Have you seen the one who prohibits,
9610 A servant from teaching?
9611 Have you seen if he was being guided,
9612 Or he ordered righteousness?
9613 Have you seen if he lied and turned away?
9614 Did he not know that God can see?
981 Those who opposed among the adherents of the decree and the
associators would not leave until a proof came to them...
982 ...a messenger from God reciting purified scripts...
983 ...in them valuable commandments...
984 ...and those who had previously received the decree did not divide
except after the proof came to them.
985 And they were not commanded except to serve God and be loyal
to His system, monotheists, and remember the lesson and
contribute towards purification. Such is the valuable system.
986 Those who opposed from the adherents of the decree and the
associators are in the fires of Hell abiding therein, those are the
worst of creation.
987 As for those who believe and do good works, they are the best of
creation.So what do you think?
Will you be beguiled by the falsehood of the millennia or will you realize that this is the real decree I write to you.
1071 Have you seen he who is denying in the system?
1072 It is the one who mistreats the orphan,
1073 And the one who does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
1074 So woe to those who are taught,
1075 Who are towards their lesson absent minded.
1076 They only want to be seen,
1077 And they withhold from any assistance.
1081 We have given you plenty.
1082 Therefore, you shall taught by your Lord and sacrifice/discard...
1083 ...indeed your rival will be the loser.
And that was all instances with the words derived from . Thanks for the time. Do you still claim that salat is contact prayer?
In that case I do not know where you are, son. I will, fortunately for you, never stop until I draw my last breath to proclaim the decree even if you close your eyes and seal your ears and reject it as whims and desires the much as you like, but I cannot lie neither to you nor to myself.
And praise the Master wholeheartedly for the lesson that came into your knowledge in case you learned something.
And I surely assure you that as the decree's corruption from the ancient scripture comes forth further then you will realize even more how beguiled you used to be by those who twist the decree with their tongues. It is quite literal in the expression in the recitation and that is the truth. It did not stop when the recitation was revealed, but you should understand that it continued from when the recitation was revealed to the prophet in the past.
And the Master has soothed my heart and I have comfort in this and do not fear that I am merely imagining things or wishfully composing something, like brother Scribbler said; by my own whims and desires.
If it is too much to soak in at once then consider it in meditation and thinking and if you are faithful that it is true then regard God as God should be regarded. I am not forcing anything upon anyone; there is no compulsion in following the system. And I have no reason to debate this with anyone, but believe it or not and it is at your loss if you do not. I am actually in the end only responsible for myself.

I have not found any odd occurrences within the whole recitation. And I was very thorough and analytical. The only issue has been with the understanding of which I found a natural reason to. Of course because surrounding words are also adapted to fit the dogma of the centuries you have to rephrase a lot of the language.
Edit If you go in and add "divine message" you already start conjecturing because of you add attributes to salat that are not supposed to be there. It is a very simple word in meaning.

Grand Qur'aan is void of ambiguities. But "remember the lesson" are three words put together, convey nothing to the second person who seems to be the addressee of these vague words. "The lesson" is a meaningless word unless it is earlier defined or clarified what "lesson" denotes. English grammar will also feel embarrassed by such words.

Grand Qur'aan is void of ambiguities.
I do not challenge that. This is a correct statement.
But "remember the lesson" are three words put together, convey nothing to the second person who seems to be the addressee of these vague words.
It is pretty clear to me, how is it unclear to you? If you are taught about something and then remember that lesson to you, how is that vague?
"The lesson" is a meaningless word unless it is earlier defined or clarified what "lesson" denotes. English grammar will also feel embarrassed by such words.
There you may not be right. To remember a lesson is a fully acceptable phrase in English. You remember what you have been taught. There is no embarrassment over this phrase.
Why do you even bother fighting over small matters and instead see the word I proposed in the context?
Replace lesson then with something else that means something similar, synonymous, like teaching. Personally I find lesson a better collective word to use to say you remember something that you have been taught.
Anyway, Mazhar, you are free to believe in your ritualistic prayer if that is where you heart is. Personally I feel I have showered you with so heavy signs that I just shake my head that you still believe the way you do nope
But if you doubt that then know that there were so many before you that denied the same thing.

Dear brother Man of Faith,
Salam alaykum.
Do you mean to say teaching/preaching of the Quran = salat?
Like some people would form a group and share with each other the knowledge of the Quran through teaching/preaching? Is this what you mean salat to be?
Regards.

If they had something to teach then yes. In the decree and the scriptural manifestation is a big lesson. If you choose to still think of a ritualistic prayer feel free to do it and I am not to be blamed for that.
People can teach about the decree, but one must be careful in what they say. Fortunately the decree is very simple in what we should do and not do so there is not much to worry about. Most of us already know the decree, we are just indulging ourselves in a lot of other conjecture and of this we are informed.

Salam,
In Surat 18 we can follow a Prophet on a journey 24hours and we do not find any hint of a ritual prayer.
They ask thee concerning Dhu al Qarnayn. Say "I will rehearse to you something of his story." (83) Verily We established his power on earth, and We gave him the ways and the means to all ends. (84) One (such) way he followed, (85) Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it set in a spring of murky water near it he found a People We said "O Dhu al Qarnayn! (thou hast authority) either to punish them, or to treat them with, kindness." (86) He said "Whoever doth wrong, him shall we punish; then shall he be sent back to his Lord; and He will punish him with a punishment unheard-of (before). (87) "But whoever believes, and works righteousness he shall have a goodly reward, and easy will be his task as we order it by our command." (8 Then followed he (another) way. (89) Until, when he came to the rising of the sun, he found it rising on a people for whom We had provided no covering protection against the sun. (90) (He left them) as they were We completely understood what was before him. (91) Then followed he (another) way (92) Until, when he reached (a tract) between two mountains, he found, beneath them a people who scarcely understood a word. (93) They said "O Dhu al Qarnayn! the Gog and Magog (people) do great mischief on earth shall we then render thee tribute in order that thou mightest erect a barrier between us and them?" (94) He said "(The power) in which my Lord has established me is better (than tribute) help me therefore with strength (and labour) I will erect a strong barrier between you and them (95) "
Starting his journey at some Point before Sunset he made a break at sunset(time for salat?) continuing his journey till the time of sunrise(time for Meditation?) and contunuing his journey he stopped at place (time for salat?)at some Point before Sunset.
What do you guys think?

Peace,
Note that traveling in the dark in ancient times could be difficult and potentially dangers. They did not have our kind of light. They often raised a camp and lit a fire and waited for the dawn light to continue the journey. In the middle - east the light is out within 30 minutes after twilight begins and without a light source or the moon it is difficult to see.
The cycle between night and day was very important to these people.
Anyway. Please bring other discussions to relevant threads.
When my research on salat is now complete I may as well make a dedicated thread on that topic. I dislike creating new topics, but I have made quite few threads since I joined the forum compared to the number of posts.

Dear Man of Faith,
As-salam alaykum and thank you for your reply.
I would like to put forward to you a question which I believe is pertinent to the reply you have given me above. Please see the verse below.
1087
We inspired Moses and his brother with this Message "Provide dwellings for your people in Egypt, make your dwellings into places of worship, and establish regular prayers (Arabic wa-aqimu l-salata) and give glad tidings to those who believe!"In the above verse we could see that prophet Moses (pbuh) and his brother (pbuh) has been inspired to go and tell the Children of Israel to establish the salat.
If you read the above verse in context with the following verses of the chapter, you will see that this instruction of establishing salat to the Children of Israel came long before prophet Moses (pbuh) even received the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments.
Now my question is, if the word salat means 'teaching/preaching of the Book', then how did the Children of Israel carry out their teaching/preaching when they did not even have the Ten Commandments between them, let alone the entire Taurat?
Regards.

Peace,
The simple answer to that is the text before the remember the teaching in the passage you gave as example, i.e make assemblies to be a "role model". They are told to remember that lesson. And Moses was told to serve God alone before any decree was told to him and to "remember that lesson".
And the people of Shuyab questioned what was being taught.
But like I said; you are free to put your faith in a ritualistic prayer.

To remember a lesson is a fully acceptable phrase in English
The difference
remember the lesson
becomes something vague when it appears in the text. Unless you had clarified somewhere before its occurrence, only then it will convey the sense of referring to that particular lesson which was earlier taught. I hope you will now get the point by seeing what "lesson" means and conveysles?son

It is easy. Remember and do what you are taught. What is so hard to understand by that?
Use your knowledge. Ehh.
If you are just going to argue the same thing please bring it to a different thread.
And you must realize that the salat words connotes on learning, teaching and lesson all depending on affixes and context. It is a mental image that you have to paint for yourself in your mind.

Peace,
Obviously some of the language is paraphrased to sound acceptable in English.
671-72 Say ?Shall we call upon other than God what cannot benefit us or harm us, and we turn back on our heels after God has guided us?? This is like the one whom the devils have managed to mislead on the earth, he is confused, having friends who call him to the guidance ?Come to us!?
Say ?The guidance is the guidance of God, and we have been ordered to submit to the knowledgeable Master and you shall remember the teaching(s) and be aware; and to Him you will be gathered...
692-93 And this is a decree which We have sent down, blessed, truthful to what is in his possession, and that you may warn the capital of the towns and those around it and those who believe in the Hereafter believe in it and they follow their teaching(s)/lesson, and who is more wicked than he who invents lies about God, or says ?It has been inspired to me,? when We did not inspire anything to him; or who says ?I will bring down the same as what God has sent down.? And if you could only see the wicked at the moments of death when the angels have their arms opened ?Bring yourselves out, today you will be given the severest punishment for what you used to say about God without truth, and you used to be arrogant towards His facts.?
6161 Say ?My Lord has guided me to a way of mindfulness, a system mindful of the creed of Abraham the monotheist; he was not of the polytheists.?
6162 Say ?My teaching, and my deeds, and my life, and my death, are all to God, Lord of the worlds.?7170 As for those who hold fast to the decree and are mindful of the lesson/teaching; We will not waste the reward of the righteous.
81 They ask you regarding the spoils, say ?The spoils are for God and the messenger.? So be aware of God, and be upright in matters between you; and obey God and His messenger if you are believers.
82 The believers are those whom, when God is mentioned, their hearts reverence; and when His revelations are recited to them, it increases their faith; and they put their trust in their Lord.
83 They are mindful of the lesson and from Our provisions to them they spend.
84 These are the true believers; they will have grades with their Lord and a forgiveness and a generous provision.
95 So when the restricted months have passed, then you may kill the polytheists wherever you find them, and take them, and surround them, and stand against them at every point. If they repent and they hold the contact prayer they are mindful of the lesson/teaching and become purified, then you shall leave them alone. God is Forgiving, Merciful.
Where are you people? Do you still believe in prayer for salat? Or otherwise just kill like maniacs, kill kill kill!!!
911 If they repent, and are mindful of the teaching/lesson and are purified, then they are your brothers in the system. We explain the revelations for a people who know.
984 And do not speak for any of them who have died, nor stand at their grave. They have opposed God and His messenger and died while they were wicked.
Here you may have hints that my understanding may still be tweaked. But it is still to be mindful of what you are taught with the salat thing. The correspondence occurred and not a ritualistic prayer.
999 And from the Nomads are those who believe in God and the Last Day, and he looks upon what he spends to make him closer to God, and the contact prayers TEACHINGS of the messenger. It indeed makes them closer. God will admit them in His mercy; God is Forgiving, Merciful.
Come on guys. Can you not see that it talks about either teachings or correspondences of the messenger and not contact prayers? confused
9103 Take from their money a charity to purify them and develop them with it, and teach them; for your teaching is a tranquility for them; and God is Hearer, Knowledgeable.
1087 And We inspired to Moses and his brother ?You shall seek out assemblies for your people in Egypt; and have your assemblies to be a "role model" and be mindful of the lesson/teaching and give good news to the believers.?
1187 They said ?O Shu?ayb, does your teaching/lesson order you that we leave what our fathers served, or that we do not do with our money as we please? It seems only you are the compassionate, the wise!?
I am confused how you can argue that it means anything else? Perhaps correspondence, but that does still not make a ritualistic prayer out of it!
11113 And do not lean towards those who have wronged else you will incur the Fire; and you will not have besides God any allies, and you will not be victorious.
11114 And mindfully focus on the teaching of the day and by the near part of the night the good deeds take away the bad. This is a regard to those who pay attention.1429 Hell is where they will burn, what a miserable place to settle.
1430 And they made to God equals in order that they may misguide from His path. Say ?Enjoy, for your destiny is to the Fire.?
1431 Say to My servants who believe, that they should be mindful of the teaching, and spend from what provisions We granted them secretly and openly, before a Day comes when there is no trade therein, nor will there be any friends.
1773 And they nearly diverted you from what We inspired to you so that you would fabricate something different against Us, and then they would have taken you as a friend!
1774 And if We had not made you stand firm, you were about to lean towards them a little bit.
1775 Then, We would have made you taste double the retribution in this life and double the retribution in death. And then you would not find for yourself any victor against Us.
1776 And they nearly intimidated you so they could drive you out of the land. But then they would have been destroyed shortly after you were gone.
1777 Such was the way of those whom We had sent before you of Our messengers. And you will not find any change in Our way.
1778 AND BE MINDFUL OF THE LESSON till the setting of the sun; to the murkiness of the night; and the recitation at dawn - the recitation at dawn is witnessed.
1779 And from the night, as an addition, you shall reflect upon it for yourself, perhaps your Lord would grant you an example that is praiseworthy.
17110 Say ?Call on God or call on the Almighty; by whichever you call on, to Him are the best names.? And do not be too loud in your teaching, nor too quiet; but seek a path in between.
1931 ?And He has made me blessed wherever I am, and He has charged me with the teaching and purification as long as I am alive.?
1955 And he used to instruct his family to the teaching and purification, and his Lord was pleased with him.
1959 Then, generations came after them who lost the teaching, and followed desires. They will find their consequences.
2012 ?I am your Lord, so take off your slippers; you are in the holy valley Tuwa.?
2013 ?And I have chosen you, so listen to what is being inspired.?
2014 ?I am God, there is no god except Me, so serve Me and be mindful the teaching/lesson for My sake.?20132 And instruct your family to the teaching, and be patient for it. We do not ask you for provision, for We provide for you. And the ending will be for righteousness.
2441 Do you not see that everything in the heavens and the earth glorifies God? Even the birds in formation, each knows its teaching and its glorification. And God is fully aware of everything they do.
2945 Relay what is inspired to you of the decree and be mindful of the teaching, for the teaching prohibits immorality and vice; but certainly the regard for God is the greatest. God knows everything you do.
3031 Turn to Him, and be aware of Him, and be mindful of the teaching and do not be of the polytheists.
3032 From those who have divided their system and become sects, each group is happy with what it has.3117 ?O my son, be mindful of the teaching and advocate righteousness and prohibit vice, and be patient to what befalls you. These are the most honorable traits.?
3343 He is the One who teaches you along with His angels, to bring you out of darkness and into the light. And He is ever Merciful towards the believers.
What the heck do you think otherwise that they do? Chat on the phone?
3356 God and His angels teach the prophet. O you who believe, you shall be taught by him, and comply completely.
3529 Surely, those who relay the decree of God and are mindful of the teaching, and spend secretly and openly from what We have provided them, they are seeking a trade that can never lose.
7443-46 They said ?We were not as those who were taughtand we did not feed the poor person and we used to participate with those who spoke falsehood and we used to deny the Day of Recompense.?
1082 Therefore, teach about your Lord and sacrifice.
I feel I am just repeating myself, but at least I brought better translated passages. Will you keep argue that salat still means "contact prayer" and that this is all that God ever thinks about? In that case this is the very first thing that God opens the recitation with. ESTABLISH PRAYER, OH YEAH. (AND ALSO FIVE TIMES PER DAY. AND IF YOU DO NOT YOU FOLLOW YOUR OWN DESIRES).
Come on, be sensible people and check the root and how it occurs, because all passages above contain that word in them.

Only 984 with words "do not speak"; presuming do not speak praising/appreciating------and Not do not speak ill.....seems near to the basic perception of Root.
. Basic perception infolded is to praise and magnify; express commendation, or wish blessings upon the one who is revered; or to appreciate someone. Ibn Faris in his classical Lexicon had quoted a verse of a poem of pre-Qur'aan period to highlight one aspect of this Root regards invoking blessings
Learned Professor Toshihiko Izutsu in his book "God and Man in the Qur'aan" quoted it in his study on the concept of this Root

Peace,
Thanks for the ideas. It shines a better light on this. But I still not agree that the case of aquyum assalat would be a scenario of magnification of God in a prayer-like event. That the prophet is somehow enjoined from blessing the dead in the gathering for a deceased person is clear in the passage. But in the literal meaning of to yasal (bless) people is by teaching them, i..e teaching them because there is not other way. Also you can understand it as the prophet should not use them as example in his enlightenment or preaching.
And with Shuayb how would it be interpreted if his blessing forbids them from serving their statues or do with their money as they please. Obviously the prophet is enlightening the people of right vs. wrong. In other words you can say that he teaches.
Enlightenment could thus be a formidable interpretation of the word. But sadly for you, who advocate prayers, it still does not move away from the notion that in the case of the context for most part speak of teaching as a result of being enlightened. You cannot avoid the fact that it is about knowing about God, being enlightened.

What were they doing and not agreeing to desist? Do you think it was anything else than this
Worshipping their gods, magnification of their gods, gathering before them to demonstrate their allegiance to them. This was their salat.
The Salat of the elevated Messenger was different, it was protocol of allegiance to Allah alone.
When one does not wish to give a second thought to whatever he believes, simple and straight forward things seem non-comprehensible. This is what they confessed
They replied "O Sho'aib, we do not comprehend it, most of it what you say to us;And indeed we consider you weaker amongst us;
However, had it not been the consideration of your clan-tribe we would have certainly stoned you to death;
And you have no dominant authority upon us."Enligtenment comes only after understanding.
