grammatical question about 2:183-184
-
2183
O ye who believe! fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you that ye may (learn) self-restraint.
2184
(Fasting) for a fixed number of days; but if any of you is ill or on a journey, the prescribed number (should be made up) from days later. For those who can do it (with hardship) is a ransom, the feeding of one that is indigent. But he that will give more of his own free-willit is better for him, and it is better for you that ye fast, if ye only knew.
My question is about Ayaman ma3dudatin
ayaman = days = pl masculin accusative
ma3dudatin = a few = pl feminin adjectivwhy is ma3dudatin in feminin?
Thanks helping analysing the grammar of the verse.

(Days) is an indefinite masculine plural time adverb ( ن
(Countable) is an indefinite feminine plural passive participle (ة
Why is in feminine?
It cannot be used as a masculine plural (ن because in Arabic Non-human Plural ( ل is either treated as Feminine Singular ( ث or Feminine Sound Plural ( م as seen in 21841-2.
Grammatically speaking, both ( ً and ( ٍ are correct.
For example, to say "I saw fast camels ..." we use either
Feminine Singular ------------> Spelled Saree3atan
Feminine Sound Plural--------> Spelled Saree3aatinTo say (Spelled Saree3eena) is grammatically incorrect in Arabic ( س.
Hope this helps.
Peace be unto you. -
Salam;
It is Adjectival Phrase, relating to verb. Adjectival phrase requires that both nouns correspond in gender, pluralirty, definiteness or indefinite; and in case endings. Broken plurals are feminine. First noun is in accusative because it is used as locative adverb- . Therefore, translation "(Fasting) for a fixed number of days;" will not go by it. The adjectival portrayal is by a Passive Participle-feminine, sound plural-diptote, accusative state, which renders the head noun a descriptive connotation. Thus it restricts the perception to The Fasting is during fixed number of days; day and night-29 or 30 of the lunar month Ramadan.
