What was your faith before becoming Quranist?
We're now not living by faith, but reasoning. Without reasoning, we can't distinguish between fancy and reality, what people fabricate and God's words.Yeah I agree. We should stop blind-following. How can a Muslim prove that his/her religion the true religion if he/she is blind-following the sectarianism and do not use reasoning, logic and rationality?
And Sunnis and Shi'ites aren't really "muslims". They are practising Biblical teachings more than mainstream Christians do.

Salam,
I don't think we should rule out faith in our lives. Yes, we are to use reasoning and logic when it comes to making daily decisions in our lives as well as developing society rules and laws. However, faith is also important in the sense that it gives us hope and motivation to pursue Allah's path. For example, when Allah is testing us with hardship such as death, loss of job, marital issues. Our brain may fail us at those emotional and tramatic experiences but our faith in Allah and His Will remains strong and can pull us through the tough times.

I liked you post. Reason make true muslims distinguish between science of God and bullshits of chaytan. However i am no more a quranist. Quran is only a guide. Ayats of God are not only in quran.
Thinking about God can be done without quran.
We have to avoid to enter in other sect than sect of Allah. Quranism is not Islam and Allah never said to us "be quranists!".
Search of truth never ends.Peace

- I would not call myself a Quranist as it leads to misconceptions. 2. I believe some people even when they don't call themselves muslim, they are following islam and could be close to Allah swt, it's just there has been confusion along the way. 3. Guidance is not just knowing not to follow contradictory hadith. 4. Allah as always knows what is best in our hearts and the issues that led to people not following what we perceive as 'Islam' sometimes or the images we think of when we imagine an 'islamic' life.

Sunni Muslim, and you??

Quran first then reason, if we use reason first than Quran, we will end like Charles Darwin.

If there seems to be contradiction of Quran and Reason, then either you have not understood the message, or your reasoning is poor, so you should think about it until the two fit each other. -
Peace,
My Faith before becoming Quranist? Well, I dislike these -ist -ism terms, but I am a muslim I think if you excuse me for using the Arabic definition. For identification purposes you may say a muslim following the Quran alone, but that is only a signifier to state that I do not include traditional sources of religious teachings which many other muslims do.
I used to be calling myself Christian before turning to the Quran and I read the Bible. As I have mentioned countless times in the forum already, I never believed in the trinity and I felt such ideas were lame from the start. I think I was never content with the Bible as I found much of what it contains to be irrational and illogical, but I could see the Truth beneath all the lies that were in it. I was sure among all this nonsense there was talk about the real God in it and I still like the Gospel testimonials given in the New Testament and I think they are "authentic" hadith (yes, it is an ironical statement). Anyways, they make more sense than the Muhammad hadith.
At least these Gospels add not much strange teachings other than enhancing the Mosaic Law by doing more than the minimum requirements of it. It always gets me thinking. That they contain polytheistic nonsense which was probably added later does not bother me (well it does but I ignore it), for I read between the lines. I did so even when I was a Christian, as no sensible man would take the Bible as being without corruption.
In other words, I may I agree with noshirk about that Guidance is not restricted to the Quran. If I understood him/her correctly that is. I believe the Quran to be the hadith of God with His exact wordings but this is not the only source of Knowledge and Wisdom, since God is not confined to just His book. He guides interactively, real-time in this very moment, those whom He pleases. All these attributes are unbound, they are floating in "the ether". It is like a bookless book, "the Message", which has been the same all along.
So turn thou to the Lord and seek His Nearness and Guidance as well as protection from the evil one and his followers, and He shall surely guide thee. For this thou needest no book. Man cannot live by words alone...
God bless you

I am missing the button "I am not a Quranist".

It depend on for what situation we said like this.
If it's from human relation prespective, it's okay we musn't said Quranist, Sunni, Syiah,Sufism,Mu'tazila etc because we're same, we're Muslim, we believe to Allah and we hold the same Scripture.
But if it's for aqidah, theology and teaching study purpose, it's better if we differ Sunni, Shiah and Quranist so it will became more systematical ways.

Peace All
I used to believe nature as God. I was suffering from long list of ailments and got cured through prayer healing based on Quran. This interested me in knowing Quran for the past 10 years, before which I have not gone through any of the scriptures. After which my understanding radically changed only to find that the Truth is quite opposite to prevailing mass mentality.

And if you obey most of those in the earth, they will lead you astray from Allah's way; they follow but conjecture and they only lie. From believing Nature as God, to nature as subservient to human, was a sea of change in understanding, and hope this would be a continuum for the days to come, by HIS Grace.
4513
And He has made subservient to you whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, all, from Himself; most surely there are signs in this for a people who reflect.Rather than Quranist, I am trying to be a Human- abiding by Conscience, from a Hindu Man, by HIS Mercy and Forgiveness.

before i had faith in human knowledge, thought we can do anything with our knowledge.
now after i am introduced towards Allah and His Quran, i wish to shed human knowledge, for i realized it can only harm.
Peace DrGm.
Just curious. Do you know that thing you are looking at now? It is known as the computer. It has an internet link. It enables us to communicate. So what?s the big deal? It is human knowledge. It is made known to you, once upon a time, by someone.
So who teach you this knowledge? I presume he/she must be an evil human, and this knowledge he/she taught does more harm than good to you.
Now that you have been introduced to Allah and the Quran, suddenly you realized that this is just the thing you need. What is it to you? It seems you have the key to unlock the All-Knower. Everything is now inspirationally known to you and you need no more human knowledge.
What are you trying to say or suggest?Zone.

Peace Zone,
2 102 ..and they learned what harmed them and did not do any good to them, and certainly they know that he who bought it should have no share of good in the hereafter and evil was the price for which they sold their souls; had they but known this.
1653 And whatever good is bestowed on you it is from Allah;..
i wish to shed human knowledge, for i realized it can only harm.
i only said 'wish to shed', because there is pride in it. God likes-not pride. in pride i will not know what is good and bad. also, i do not know what all the pride i have unknowingly. zone, if i ask u the computer knowledge is it good or bad or does it harm us?. what will u say?
i have not said anything like evil human. with the knowledge i compete others and others compete me. there is only competition. competition harms. what we say as knowledge according to me is user manual. how to use the gadgets is actually we refer here as knowledge. i do not have knowledge of my own, only taught by others. till we have wisdom we can use our knowledge God fearing that i should not harm myself and others with this knowledge.
in wisdom there is no competition, there is no pride. i don't own it, i clearly know it is not from me but from the God.
even now i do not know, whether u take my answer in the right way i intend. this computer will not show u my state of mind. unless we know each other for a quite period of time (if God so wills), our knowledge / pride will not accept good as good.

Salaam,
I was born into Sunni belief, then left the faith and became an agnostic (more specifically an existential nihilist). Alhamdulillah I discovered islam a couple years ago and now I follow islam as defined by the Quran peaceful submission to the one God.

Peace.
I speak from my knowledge, a human knowledge. I am a communicative being. So I am created by Allah to live and deal with information, to receive and transmit. What I know as to date from my long journey in seeking knowledge is that we live in this world with unseen enemies around, satans, which also capable to produce and transmit information. Allah?s information (ayats) is in truth, while satans are mixed with falsehood.
As far as I know, we are the one responsible to live with our fullest potential to deal with this world of information as a test. Information is either true or false. The process of knowing the truth is science. The spirit (inner awareness) for knowing the truth of what is morally right and wrong, the basics, is conscience.
We humans are constructors of knowledge, meanings on everything we encounter, concrete and conceptual, of all things, processes, events, etc. Our mind, senses and the heart are designed which such ability. The ability to process written or oral communication is something great. But the ability to know the meanings of things in Allah?s creations in the heavens and the earth and what is within us is much greater.
Allah has given the greatest gift to Adam and his descendants, now we humans, the ability to discover and to know the meanings of all things created by Allah.
The evolution of human knowledge, understanding information (ayats) that is embedded in the phenomena created, has brought revolution in the history of mankind to discover the Truth. Yes there are errors in the process, depicting the true nature of humans.
With the advancement of human knowledge, we have uncovered many secrets of the universe and what?s in us, and we readily able to grasp the truth in the book of guidance. Knowledge is the key to uncover the truth of all things, but a morally conscious individual will attain guidance for those who sincerely seek His guidance for peace.
1114 And if they do not respond to you - then know that the Qur'an was revealed with the knowledge of Allah and that there is no deity except Him. Then, would you be Muslims?
3022 And of His ayats is the creation of the heavens and the earth and the diversity of your languages and your colors. Indeed in that are ayats for those of knowledge.
3527 Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby fruits of varying colors? And in the mountains are tracts, white and red of varying shades and extremely black.
3528 And among people and moving creatures and grazing livestock are various colors similarly. Only those fear Allah , from among His servants, who have knowledge (ulama). Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Forgiving.
I was in cognitive dissonance for following my own scientific thoughts and conscience mixed with the religion of my parents till I discover the true meanings of His ayats in His book of guidance, the Quran, in my mid twenties.
18109 Say, "If the sea were ink for the words of my Lord, the sea would be exhausted before the words of my Lord were exhausted, even if We brought the like of it as a supplement."
Alhamdulillahirabilalamin.
