Some of the online translation of the Quran at submission.org and Masjid Tucson put the footnotes right in the middle of the text! It interrupts the flow of the Quran and I feel that it is borderline idol worship to put the footnotes, which are man made, smack in the middle of the words of God! Thie newer printed versions of Rashad Khalifa's translation do this as well. I avoid those translations and use the older version that does not do this, use WinQT, or other sites that do not do that because it bothers me so much.

I can't believe that they do not see this as wrong.

What are your feelings about this?

Salaamun alayki and welcome to the forum handshake

I hate brackets in Quran verses too.

      Salaam,

i wonder why you still use Rashad Khalifa'S translation when there are better ones out there Like Edip Yuksel and the A monotheist translation.

Every translation is a translation; and not Quran. Why bother about the translators and their translations leaving Allah and His Quran behind? They are all the personal opinions or the views of the translators. Allah is the author of His Book for the mankind. If we return to Him, He does not teach Quran to us; but Guides us by it.

Move not your tongue with it, , to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an.
Indeed, upon Us is its collection and its recitation.
So when We have recited it, then follow its recitation.
Then upon Us is its clarification. (<a href="http//quran.com/75/17-19">7517-19</a>)
