Salam from an Oregon Girl

Peace everyone!
I'm so excited I found this group and other people that are like minded.
I've been a Muslim for about a year and a half now. I became a Muslim because I studied the miracles of the Quran and knew that there was no way that the Quran could have possibly be made by man. It wasn't an easy choice. I was at the high light of my life, was perfectly happy, and had everything I wanted in life. I wasn't looking for a new religion and had made up my mind that it was okay to not know about anything. However what I was doing at that time was very wrong and against the Quran although at that time I didn't think it was. When I decided to become a muslim I knew that to me following the truth was more important to me then following my desires.
For a long time I followed the Sunni way because that was what I was being taught. However from the beginning I had my doubts about the Hadith. I felt that no matter how careful people try to be and how accurate they try to be they are still open for human error. I would get into discussions about the hadith searching for the accuracy. What I kept on finding however, is contradictions. For a long time I kept on following because it was what my husband followed and it felt nice to be on the same page. Although when people asked me what I was I would just say I was a Muslim. I didn't really want to identify myself with any sect even though I was following one.
One day I had a friend that told me about the hadith that said the Prophet (peace be upon all the prophets) had said not to follow the hadith. That launched me into research mode. What I found was undeniable evidence in the Quran that say over and over not to follow anything but the Quran and not to Judge by anything other than the Quran. That the Quran is perfect and complete. Once again I'm faced with a choice between what is easy and the right thing to do. Even thought the hadith are very complicated it would be easier to keep following them and not change things between my husband and I and not go up against all my sunni friends. Although I know in my heart that is not something I can do. It's never been my character. No matter what the consequences I will always choose the right path over the easy one.
I just started this journey and I know change is going to be hard. But I'm willing to go at it because at least I can feel that I'm doing the right thing.
I'll finish off by saying ' I submit to God (Allah) alone, and there is no God but God'

Your story is very common here. Welcome to the forums. Always good to see more sisters joining in. sun
The highlight of your life is whenever you want it to be. You're thinking for yourself, following your spirit, and searching in earnest for the truth. That is a highlight in life the majority of humans will never know. Be proud of yourself for having the courage to do what is right.
Now if only some people in New Orleans would join! angel

Salaam and welcome!
Well you've just got a sister who is mostly leaving this forum. When I first came here, I came across threads about how some people had left, and why this was the case and how they'd developed. I think I'm at that stage now but it's more that islam reveals itself in different ways, through the Quran but through other Signs. There is a lot more for me to learn I feel, and Allah swt reveals islam to an individual on a very personal and meaningful level. That's something that I don't think we get from simply agreeing or disagreeing on passages in the Quran, or giving our opinions on things based on the Quran. Allah swt is subtle, all aware.

Salaamun alayki Amina and welcome to the forum,
What I am learning now is that the right path is the most easy one yes
But most of us, including myself, see it as a difficult way.
I believe when we reach the level of seeing and experiencing that the right way is indeed the most easy one, then we are inshaAllah on Huda Allah.Salaam and may Allah bless you,

Peace,
The biggest trap is that new "converts" and external viewers get the impression that hadith are part of God's religion when they are only part of the man-made religion "Islam" with a capital letter. The Message as discourse on a paper or tablets is limited to what Moses received, David was inspired the psalms and Muhammad got Quran. Jesus' followers wrote down a testimony of his life which is not God's words.
God would never inspire people to write down gibberish and what is not the hadith of Muhammad?
Even the Bible is not free of nonsense, but that is due to the fact it is not one book but a summary of many scriptures intertwined by man-made conjecture.
When scholars took the liberty of copying the mosaic law to parchment they took the liberty of adding or changing passages to advocate various blasphemous practices such as stoning. As you know the Law given to Moses was originally written down on tablets and not papyrus or any other material. This blasphemy endured over into the alleged hearsay of Muhammad written down with the same mindset as the scholars many centuries before. The same people who received Quran had also previously had Christians or Jews living side-by-side, so it is no surprise their traditions kept on living also after Quran was revealed. These traditions have nothing to do with Quran. Please refrain from associating them with God.
I am sure Muhammad never stoned anyone but was probably rather threatened with stoning and only his birthright protected him to some extent as well as God of course.
The practices of hadith belongs to those who oppose God rather than obey Him. All strange practices in traditional hadith manner is just ideas of people who have drifted astray. Three stones to wipe yourself after answering the call of nature or eat strictly with the right hand they are just weird philosophies of madmen.
When traditional muslims defend the practices they oftentimes use the Bible and historical references to this in addition to hearsay of Muhammad ignoring the fact how the scattered condition of this "book".
It is interesting how stoning is not mentioned even once in Quran except in a negative remark where disbelievers practice it. The testimonies of Jesus' followers do not state it but only the Jewish Tanakh which is considerable older and subject to distortion and not only because it is heavily intertwined with hearsay but also that God's word in it is much shorter than the official version. The rest is added hearsay.
What Moses received was on tablets and if you know history and logic you ought to understand that you cannot carry an unlimited amount of "pages" with you down a mountain. The writings you find in the present "Book(s) of Moses" is additional hearsay not being official. The stoning you find is not part of the Law, it is idiocy added later when the script was transferred to other means. People have done exactly the same "mistake" with Quran and it could be a question of time before they print a book with part Quran part hadith in such a way you believe it is one book, ie the same fate as the Bible. It already happens with translations in ways and it might get worse.
Anyways, sorry I always shine up when people mention the Truth and I feel the urge to write my mind.
Feel very welcome questioningmainstream and the newcomer I previously welcomed already.
God bless you

Peace be upon you. Your past is very similar to mine. I became a Muslim at first just to wear the hijab, but later, I did believe in God. I had been a Sunni for 19 months, and in November 2011, I became a Quranist. I've been a Quranist for almost two years. Really, I think we need to help people who are interested in the Quran or just God to directly get to know pure monotheism without bypassing some kind of lies about God.

Salamd and welcome
You have taken the right decision. What Quran says is the truth. But we have failed to communicate to other religions. If you follow the Quran you honour and obbey all the ptophets born on earth till today. It is the most modern and most scientific religion. The definition of God, the origin and sustenance of the universe as stated by Quran has no comparison. Hope we together can communicate the message to the rest of the world. Let us bring back peace by eliminating misunderstanding.
Please feel free to communicate personally.
Thank and peace be on you. -
Thanks everyone!!!!
Hey anyone that lives in the PNW or Oregon feel free to message me. Maybe we can organize a gathering of like minded individuals.
