And when Moses said to his people,

"Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow."

They said, "Do you take us in ridicule?"

He said, "I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant."

They said, "Call upon your Lord to make clear to us what it is."

    said, " says,

    1. 'It is a cow
    2. which is neither old
    3. nor virgin
    4. but median between that,'
    5. so do what you are commanded."

They said, "Call upon your Lord to show us what is her color."

    He said, "He says,
    6. 'It is a yellow cow
    7. bright in color
    8. pleasing to the observers.' "

They said, "Call upon your Lord to make clear to us what it is.
Indeed, cows look alike to us. And indeed we, if Allah wills, will be guided."

    He said, "He says,
    9. 'It is a cow neither trained to plow the earth
    10. nor to irrigate the field,
    11. one free from fault
    12. with no spot upon her.' "

They said, "Now you have come with the truth."

So they slaughtered her, but they could hardly do it.

          O you who believe!
DO NOT PUT QUESTIONS about things which if declared to you may trouble you
and if you question about them when the Quran is being revealed
they shall be declared to you
ALLAH PARDONS THIS, and Allah is Forgiving, Forbearing. (5101)

Rather informing about those who make excuses one after the other, because they are reluctant to obey or keep the covenant with ALLAAH, As for the definition of 'ignorant' there are numerous references, as ignorance comes in many forms.

Thank you for your input and I wonder why you returned my peace. Were you offended by my greetings, or are you saying peace be with you as well

              Peace farida,

No offense intended, I just meant peace to you also

              hawk99

For now I think its better we deal with the first part of your post which deals with the very basic the According to you better translation as ayats or revelations are better and more to the point

If you could kindly expound on this so I can I fully understand what exactly you mean, as word is mentioned, again and again in the Qur'an. For that reason you cannot link it to the next point/verse to understand its meaning. This surely has a whole set of solid meanings, which can be applied according to the relevant next point.

I translate it as sign/symbols/letters/alphabets, as Imam al-amiyr mentioned in his lessons/posts, and there is no harm in learning from the point of view of others. It will only increase your knowledge. So we can discuss it in two ways, either you explain fully how you apply your translation 'aayaat in different situations, as most are doing here on this forum on several subject like Salaah etc.
Or you learn from al-amiyr his point, and refute his understanding of or accept that he is right.
I am sure you are a confident mature and intelligent person and you are not superstitious or suspicious of other's studies or research. You can only confront someone after understanding what they are saying. Otherwise, as you have seen on this forum where there are so many intelligent members who have been debating many basic issues, yet are unable to reach a consensus...WHY?

I do not speak Arabic, but use translations, and dictionaries for my understanding of Quran,
therefore I am in no position to debate Arabic words as I am in no position to debate Spanish
with Spanish speaking people. Therefore if the definitions you have are different from the
Arabic dictionaries there is no way for me to contradict you.

I would say no, but it makes you more likely to have inherited some of the good qualities of prophet Muhammad (saws), which were apparent in many of his descendants. With careful nurturing, you may also be more prone to fear God and, perhaps be charitable and disposed to studying and reflecting on His signs in this world.
With no comparisons, apart from the purely genetical, when breeding excellent horses one selects, for a quality breeding mare, a stallion whose offspring displays a strong resemblance to their sire, in the complimenting qualities you look for. This will greatly enhance chances of breeding excellence. Genetically the same holds true for humans. peace

Interesting use of horses for inbreeding genetics.

The scientific consensus is that inbreeding (in both humans and right down to simple creatures such as mayflies, which has had extensive studies), while normally not bad first or even second generation, eventually leads to retardation of certain gene pairs, causing abnormalities, infertility via broken down or unusable sperm cells in males and a weakened immune system. I sincerely hope no human feels the need to keep to the same gene pool in the hopes of having the same qualities as a father-daughter horse breeding schedule.

I would also like to point out that the characteristics you seem to be referring to in your posts is more down to nurture than nature. Even then, a child with the most caring parents can just as well be spoilt and unruly, while one with bad parents could be humble, peaceful and kind. Rather than placing people of such lineage, paternal, maternal, mixed on a pedestal slightly higher than everyone else, it might be more worthwhile to teach everyone to hold such characteristics regardless of background.

Edit Also, suggesting that certain genes are more likely to hold personality characteristics means also suggesting that those without those genes are less likely to hold them as a result. It doesn't need much more than that to start talking on the lines of Blood Libel and the 'Curse of Ham'.

                      salaam Khalil
You are well aware that the Prophet's (saws) daughter Fatima (ra) had 2 sons, Hassan (ra) and Hussein (ra), by the cousin of her father. From them the bloodline of Muhammad(saws) has been continued to this day, and al-amiyr is one of them.
                      salaam

I already ask the similiar question http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9605683.msg334790#msg334790

But it seems al-amyr and companies abandoned it.It's easy question for al-amyr, if you al-amyr or compnaies member if you shy to answer in the boards then just by PM.

Mohammed must have followed right from Prophet Ibrahim till Prophet Esa thus he is the seal of All the Characters by the Satisfaction of Allah

Nabi Muhammad is Seal of Phrophet (Khatam al Nabiyyin).Btw what is "characters" do you mean??

Interesting use of horses for inbreeding genetics.

The scientific consensus is that inbreeding (in both humans and right down to simple creatures such as mayflies, which has had extensive studies), while normally not bad first or even second generation, eventually leads to retardation of certain gene pairs, causing abnormalities, infertility via broken down or unusable sperm cells in males and a weakened immune system. I sincerely hope no human feels the need to keep to the same gene pool in the hopes of having the same qualities as a father-daughter horse breeding schedule.

You are talking about long term in breeding, where its absolutely true. However if used correctly (one or two generations) it's an excellent tool for solidifying and stabilising the excellent traits you want the offspring to inherit. By in breeding I refer to the pairing of the closest relatives, father-daughter, brother-sister etc., not cousin which offers many more gene combination options.

The short term in breeding scheme has been used with great success on Icelandic horses, to give an example, producing excellent horses where up to 90% share the good qualities you've been breeding for, such as excellent gaits temperament etc. truly superior horses.

I disagree. High quality genes will produce a lineage of high quality genes, if correctly combined. There are always various possibilities, but statistically the combination of good parents will produce a significantly better offspring than the opposite. Mediocre parents, talking horse breeding now, have, on occasion produced the odd excellent offspring, but that's the exception not the rule.

                                Edit
Also, suggesting that certain genes are more likely to hold personality characteristics means also suggesting that those without those genes are less likely to hold them as a result. It doesn't need much more than that to start talking on the lines of Blood Libel and the 'Curse of Ham'.

Our knowledge of genetic inheritance is still rather crude, and comes from the breeding of animals as for ethical reasons breeding of humans along such lines is not an option. However we have every reason to assume that what holds true in horse breeding holds equally true for humans. Excellence breeds excellence, whether we like it or not. Ideological reasoning has no bearing on that fact.

                                  1. Who claims superiority through their genetic link? If you're referring to al-amiyr, his only claim is that he possesses the knowledge of al-kitaab maknuwn, passed down trough generations from father to son. Is this claiming genetic superiority??

I was not referring to anything connected to al-amiyr. I just commented on that some people in the world consider themselves better than others (in certain ways atleast) because they alledgedly are related to prophet Muhammad. Some people (alot) actually do this. As far as the things al-amiyr are saying, I couldn't comment on that simply since I haven't looked into it. My remark was very general, and out of experience, and had nothing to do with what's going on on this forum really.

                                  1. Those of us who revere al-amiyr do so, not because he is of the lineage of Muhammad (saws), but because of the depth of his awe inspiring erudition and because of his compelling personality.
                                    Is this worship??

I haven't been following al-amiyr and all around him, so I have no opinion.

You and I come from the same (Swedish), hyper egalitarian culture, and instinctively dislike all who stand out from the crowd (Jantelagen), but we must admit that God has not created us equal. True it's not for us to judge each other, but we should show proper respect where respect is due.

                                  peace

I realize the characteristics of the society I was brought up in. I've however also lived for quite some time in other kinds of environments, much more competitive and "hot". But I do hate the Law of Jante, as it is simply based on jealousy and insecurity. And of course, people are not equal in many ways... however, all people have equal worth, and this is what I'm interested in. It is easy for the discussion to drift from talking about skills/talents/experience/genes to talking about the worth of a person. This happens unconsciously. I celebrate differences in people, but all are of equal human value. Only God can judge among us, but usually we do it instead. Then things like racism pop up.
Like you said, we should show respect where and when it is due, which also includes showing respect for the right things. I've lived in the subcontinent for quite some time, and I find it sad to see how people respect skin color, rank and level of education while alsmot ignoring the personality at hand. Of course, this is typical for a highly hierarchical society, and there are many such. Even Germany is much more hierarchical than Sweden.
Respect should be given for the right reasons, humbly and sensibly.

                                  Peace brother
                                  All the best!

Completely agree with you here, and I would never respect anyone on the merits of forefathers
alone, or because of their rank or title. I do see however that genes play an important part in the set up of an individual, be it animal or man.

Again I couldn't agree more. Race is NOT an issue in Islam. Learning and personality are.

I did not make an offer as I am not in a position to do so, I only suggested, as you said earlierI do not speak Arabic, but use translations, and dictionaries for my understanding of Quran,
My advice to you was; Not to be under the influence of a translations or dictionaries instead; learn the meanings of the letters in Arabic, that is the only way to have direct access to the Qur'aan.

                                      Now I say to you in reply to your this post today using Shakespeare's famous quote;
It's your choice to bi or not to bi
Every faith knows that they must aim for 'bi' Hindu's call it 'bima'(bema) In the Old Testament the word miqdas ..." implying a distinction between space that is "sacred" versus "profane"" commonly refers to the worship "sanctuary. Muslims use same word, its called bayat-ul- miqdas/ bayat-ul-llaah. we say bi-si-millaah
ALLAAH has given us freewill/ choice
                                      to go to bi
Or ( look at letter O which is circle point back to or about turn)
                                      Not to bi = profane
