How should one pray in an Islamic manner according to the Koran?
-
Prayer is seeking from God and correcting one's individual belief system so that he can be righteous to the best satisfaction of Allah. Now his good deeds would take him to heavens. People think and give importance to prayer because they think prayer comprising of ritual bodily manipulations and movements and its postures would take them to heaven. No, it is the poise of mind and the rewards for how you behave before God's supervision with fear and obedience alone shall take you to His path that leads you to heavenly life.
Generally through prayer we are asking God mainly and only for this worldly things; but prayer is seeking God for forgiveness; and asking God for righteousness and Will to submit and surrender us wholesomely to God, soulfully so that we are guided and conducted by Him alone so that we satisfy Allah in our constant remembrance and reverence in Him.
- And those who believe and do righteous good deeds, they are dwellers of Paradise, they will dwell therein forever.
So prayer is to make Allah to guide and conduct us all through our lives in this world towards the path of heaven in both the worlds; and thus prayer is not going to mosque, not bowing down towards west and not falling down on one's own forehead; and not visiting the Meccan stone-construction.
- Righteousness is not turning your faces to East or West; but it is believing in Allah, His promised life, His Angels, His, Book, and His Prophets. Seeking and believing all these from Allah praising Him And revering Him in mind is being soulfully with God; and God is with such of them. Such of them are heaven winners; the rest are only bread winners in this world.
Prayer is linked and synced with heart; not with our body postures, nor turning our faces to whichever direction. Though the guidance is clear to our soul from Allah, we are unable to detach us away from what our forefathers taught us or the ways of prayer upon which we saw our forefathers. We are to be reminded of this ayat now
2170 And when it is said to the muslims, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers doing." What! Even though their fathers understood nothing, nor were they guided?
Salam.
as per my understanding too, well said!!
like to share mine;
It is You we serve and You we ask for help.15this simple verse that has been misunderstood by many
in my opinion, serve is more appropriate to use than worshipi dont know Arabic but
if naAAbudu is worship, naturally pray as we understand is ritual as done by all religion
hence the confusion because we will never find the correct method of ritual praying in AQbut if naAAbudu is serve, we can find many of these scattered in AQ
therefore we are told to read, understand and obey His message,
which core of it is to do righteous, charity, help the orphan, etcand I believe verse below support my statement
Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans - those who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. 262my understanding of prayer is believing in Him by forging a bond/connection/relationship as remembrance to Him
all verses begins with 'Our Lord' said by Allah's messengers are prayers
and below are some of few examples that I follow added with my own where necessaryOur Lord, and make us Muslims to You and from our descendants a Muslim nation to You. And show us our rites and accept our repentance. Indeed, You are the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful. 2128
"Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower. 38
"Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire," 316
prayer (relationship/connection/bonding) is between me and God ONLY
asking what exactly I said akin asking me what I says during my beautiful/intimate moment with my love oneand my prayer will begin with Surah Al Fateha a Direct Line to get connected to Him
that is prayer as I understand in AQ
to each it's ownThe ritual SALAT is nothing but garbage,
Absolutely!!!

Asking how,
Is FAR less important than
DOING IT
Don't worry about how,
Just do it.
God gave you the times of prayer, do it. Simple as that. Everything else will transpire by means of your praying morning and evening and the other times. Catch the sunrise and sunset without fail and your life will synchronise.
Meditation explore it in its myriad forms. For every human being there is at least one meditation (the beating of the heart) then within that there are myriad routes to meditate and feel the inner Self, to feel and release bodily tension. Ultimately the end-point is yoga/union, where a person will be entirely absorbed into the Will of The God and needs to do no further work but to just Be
Ritual prayer has the appearance of not-working but notice you are here? Notice other people are not here? Who guided you to this?

Yes. It is more important to get to action than to just sit and engage in philosophies.
However, we MUST have the right intentions and right prayers behind our actions.
If we are sincere, we may be guided to better and better practices, even if we start out doing useless rituals.
We don't have to be perfect to the first time. We can't anyway.
Take action and pray for guidance, and chances are that we will be guided towards better directions, being fine tuned.
This takes time and patience... and sincere, humble and sensible action from our side.Peace

PEACE ALL
UNLESS THE MUSLIMS DO NOT FREE THEMSELVES FROM THE SHACKLES OF THE RITUAL GARBAGE PRAYER THEY WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND WHAT SALAT IS.
Those who IN THEIR SALAT are LOWLY 232
If We had sent down this Qur'an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled (SUBDUED OR BROUGHT LOW IN CONDITION OR STATUS) and coming apart from fear of Allah. And THESE EXAMPLES We present to the people that perhaps THEY WILL GIVE THOUGHT 5921
HUMBLE NOT PROUD NOT THINKING OF YOURSELF AS BETTER THAN OTHER PEOPLE (IN SALAT)
GIVEN OR SAID IN A WAY THAT SHOWS YOU DO NOT THINK YOU ARE BETTER THAN THE OTHER PEOPLE (IN SALAT)
SHOWING THAT YOU DO NOT THINK YOURSELF AS BETTER THAN OTHER PEOPLE (IN SALAT)
MARKED BY MEEKNESS OR MODESTY IN BEHAVIOR, ATTITUDE, SPIRIT (IN THE SALAT)
NOT ARROGANT OR PRIDEFUL (IN THE SALAT)
SHOWING DEFERENTIAL OR SUBMISSIVE RESPECT (IN SALAT)
HUMBLED SUBDUED OR BROUGHT LOW IN CONDITION OR STATUS (IN SALAT)
HOW THE MUSLIMS EXECUTE ALL THE ABOVE HUMBLENESS IN THEIR SALAT.
THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW ARABIC AND DO NOT HAVE ANY KNOWLEDGE OF THE QURAN, HOW THEY WILL BE HUMBLE IN THEIR PRAYER?
Those who UPON/ ON THEIR SALAT are CONSTANT / STEADFAST (dutifully firm and unwavering / FIRM IN MIND) 7023
CONSTANT CONTINUING WITHOUT PAUSE OR LET UP UNCEASING
STEADFAST FIRM IN MIND OR PURPOSE RESOLUTE
ARE THE MUSLIMS ON / UPON THEIR SALAT DUTIFULLY FIRM AND UNWAVERING
So woe to those who PRAY 1074
Those who OF / FROM THEIR SALAT are NEGLECTFUL/CARELESS 1075
HOW THOSE WHO PRAY REGULARLY ARE NEGLECTFUL / CARELESS OF / FROM THEIR SALAT
And this is a Book We have sent down, blest, and confirming that which hath been before it. And it is sent that thou mayest warn thereby the mother of towns and those around it. And those who believe in the Hereafter believe in it, and they UPON THEIR SALAT are GUARDIANS 692
NOT everybody GAURD THEIR SALAT but only those who believe in the Hereafter, believes in the Quran and THEY GUARD THEIR SALAT.
EVERY MUSLIM BELIEVES IN THE HEREAFTER AND BELIEVES IN THE QURAN THEREFORE EVERY MUSLIM GUARDS HIS SALAT. HOW?
TILL TODAY I HAVE NOT MET A SINGLE PERSON WHO HAS DEMONSTRATED THE GUARDING OF THE SALAT
Successful indeed are the believers 231 And those who UPON THEIR SALAT are GUARDIANS 239 (MOMIN)
THOSE BELIEVERS ARE SUCCESSFUL WHO GUARD THEIR SALAT? NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO GUARD THE SALAT THEREFORE NOT A SINGLE BELIEVER IS SUCCESSFUL. QUITE INTERESTING.
And those who UPON THEIR SALAT are GUARDIANS 7034 (MUSALLEEN)
MUSALLEEN ESTABLISHER OF PRAYER
THOSE WHO ESTABLISH THE PRAYER WILL ENTER THE GARDEN IF THEY GAURD THEIR SALAT
HOW MANY MUSLIMS KNOW HOW TO GUARD THEIR SALAT?
Guard your (ALL FIVE) PRAYERS, and the MIDDLE PRAYER and stand before God in devotion. 2;238
HOW TO GUARD ALL THE FIVE PRAYERS PLUS ALL OTHER EXTRA PRAYERS WHICH ARE INVENTED BY THE HADITHISTS AND THE ASR PRAYER? WHERE IS THE EXPLANATION OF THE PROPHET, THE HADITHISTS, THE SCHOLARS, THE MULLAHS, THE INFALLIBLE IMAMS IN RESPECT OF GUARDING THE SALAT.
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW TO GUARD THE SALAT THEN LEARN FROM THE HADITH
Narrated Zaid bin Arqam In the life-time of the Prophet we used to SPEAK WHILE PRAYING, and one of us would TELL HIS NEEDS TO HIS COMPANIONS, till the verse, 'GUARD strictly your prayers (2.23 was revealed. After that we were ordered to remain silent while praying. (Book #22, Hadith #292)
Narrated Zaid bin Arqam We used to SPEAK WHILE IN PRAYER. One of us used to SPEAK TO HIS BROTHER (while in prayer) about his need, till the Verse was revealed-- "GUARD strictly the (five obligatory) prayers, especially the middle (the Best) (Asr) Prayer and stand before Allah with obedience (and not to speak to others during the prayers)." Then we were ordered not to speak in the prayers. (Book #60, Hadith #5
Al-Bara' b. 'Azib reported This verse was revealed (in this way)" GUARD the prayers and the 'Asr prayer." We recited it (in this very way) so long as Allah desired. Allah, then, abrogated it and it was revealed" GUARD the prayers, and the middle prayer." A person who was sitting with Shaqiq (one of the narrators in the chain of transmitters) said Now it implies the 'Asr prayer. Upon this al-Bara' said I have already informed you how this (verse) was revealed and how Allah abrogated it, and Allah knows best. Imam Muslim said Ashja'i narrated it from Sufyan al-Thauri, who narrated it from al-Aswad b. Qais, who narrated it from 'Uqba, who narrated it from al-Bara' b. 'Azib who said We recited with the Prophet (may peace be upon him) (the above-mentioned verse like this, i. e. instead of Salat al- Wusta, Salat al-'Asr) for a certain period. as It has been mentioned (in the above-quoted hadith). (Book #004, Hadith #1317)
Tell the believing men to reduce of their vision and GUARD THEIR PRIVATE PARTS / CHASTITY That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do 2430
And say thou unto the believing women that they shall lower their sights and AND GUARD THEIR PRIVATE PARTS / CHASTITY ...... 24;31
ALMOST ALL PEOPLE OF THE WORLD KNOW HOW TO GUARD THEIR CHASTITY WITHOUT THE TEACHING AF ALLAH, BECAUSE IT IS IN OUR INSTINCT
THEN WHY THE BELIEVERS DO NOT KNOW HOW TO GUARD THEIR PRAYERS?
IS THERE SOMEONE WHO CAN TEACH ME HOW TO GUARD MY SALAT?
THANKS

Salaam brother hafeez kazi,
I am glad you got into this investigation. The mysterious salat and zakat riddle may soon be solved and why they are frequently presented together throughout Quran.
Could you please give the verse numbers so I can sit here and think upon it?
Zakat does not mean exactly the thing sectarians imply. This I have known for quite a while. Of course giving charity is a way to zakat yourself, but it is just a small part of its full meaning.
So if salat does not mean prayer what does it mean? I felt it could mean being conscious of God, but it does not seem to suit the verses your supplied. Like "be mindful of me and purify yourselves".
However, I still do not exclude prayers altogether, but that is not the meaning of salat. Other verses, especially the ones that command to stay awake at night and think might be related to prayer-like activities. Note that I still do not consider it like a ritualistic prayer but more a focus on the prayer's true purpose such as meditation.
There is however one confusion. There is one verse that talks about the volume of salat and another that talks about salat in war situations. What about those?
How about "Pray to me and purify yourselves" or "Contact/connect to me and purify yourselves" or "Implore me and purify yourselves"?
I am sure that salat is to be able to zakat yourself, ie become purified. How is that easier done than to implore God and put your faith in Him to purify yourself? If you do not concentrate as in meditation on your prayer it will not make any difference to your spiritual life. Brain dead ritualistic movement will not change this. If you are not conscious of what you do you cannot purify yourself. So when you do salat you should study the Message (al-kitab) and reflect upon what God has created and sit and merely meditate that you may receive Nearness, Guidance, Knowledge and Wisdom as in my thread with a similar name.
God has no need for your salat but you do. It is a connection to God where you will build up a bond between the two of you which in return will lead to your purification. It will definitely help your personality as you meditate upon your behavior and actions in life.
Thanks again brother for your thoughts and please answer with an open mind here and help me solve this mystery which has been distorted over the centuries. We need no Pagan rituals in our religion, God's religion... or should we say system/deen? Only invented Pagan gods need strange rituals to be pleased as part of human superstition. It is obvious that polytheistic powers twisted the understanding of early Islam to their old weird practices.
Now I am not saying that prostration or kneeling is Paganism, but having many weird combinations such as the classical rakah system or monotonous words repeated like robots. Even Jesus allegedly talks against this practice in the Gospel testimonies. I believe that Jesus actually spoke those words and that it is Pagan behavior to please their gods. True prayers are very personal and is more about imploring God what you need and having like a friend that you cannot see but sees you and protects you and is a powerful ally. I am even sure really strong believers can receive active guidance from God directly in real time.
Hope we can help each other, brother.
God bless you

Just as guarding chastity can be done through common sense and intuition, I'm sure we know the same for Salaa... it's just that we don't know what Salaa is... we have made it tooo complicated and mutated. The problem is not guarding.... but WHAT to guard. In the end I'm sure it is quite straight forward and common sense, and perhaps many of us do it without even knowing it. I'm sure we're looking in the wrong place as usual... just like atheists are looking for God in the wrong place/level, finding nothing, and concluding there is no God or need for God. I think we are indeed lost and blind, and that matters are MUCH simpler than we think. Again, our intellectual minds, handicapped no matter how brilliant, are screwing up our case. Reality is probably much simpler and common sense than we think. I fear religion is the greatest obstacle on the way to God and goodness. Religion is anything but natural and normal.

"I am even sure really strong believers can receive active guidance from God directly in real time."
Part of sala & zaka is the recognising that this is already happening to everyone P
Why did that leaf flutter in front of me at this oh so convenient time?
I guess Allah believes in Allah, after all, who else?
-
Salaam,
If only our ancestors had not twisted the meaning of the words in the first place to fit Pagan rituals...
I am so curious about the word salat and its true meaning in the context of Quran.
God bless you

Does your salat allow you to do this? If not, check what your salat is. In this video a man does some amazing things, because he knows how to slw with Al-Ilah
The secrets of the human body have been kept hidden from you thanks to the plan of satan but above that the plan of Allah but let us explore... It is all transpiring now in this day and age. I have much to show you folks, if you would take heed and listen.
It's ironic that the Taoists have mastered the Muslim salat long before the "Muslims" and even after the quran came down, they're still keeping it Real while the Muslims are arguing about how long to grow their beard
Taoism the original quran alone, so quranist they don't even need a quran
These are the guys who travelled in the land and saw how The God shapes the creatures. These are the guys who travelled in the land and saw that The God raptured the living shit out of those who reject and thought "hey, this dude is pretty powerful, maybe we should listen to Him and find out who He is, because He damn well lives by His word". These are the guys who preach peace and love and act peace and love and if you fail in it towards them... they kick your ass. But they do not oppress.group
