    Salam

Hypothetically, if one spouse of a quranist muslim marriage leaves islam, does the marriage become void like sunnis have declared?

Especially in the case of the spouse having not converted to any other relogion, just denonced all religion and has none, but still believes in God.

Does anyone know what the Quran says about this?

Can they remain married? Or would this be haram for the muslim spouse?

Any ideas as to how a legal (egyptian) seperation would take place? (khula, divorce or annullment)

In both cases if the wife is the 'apostate' or the husband.

      Salaam,

As per 6611, Firaun's wife is an example for believers but still Allah never mentioned that she took qula or divorce from Firaun.

        Peace PixelAngelBaby.

GOD always made sure " existing marriages" are left intact. .Why ?

Because marriage is a contract between two people for better or for worse,,and if there are children involved ,it is even more so.There is always the possibility of change in the future. In the worst case scenario there is a separation interim.Everything must be exhausted beforehand to find a solution.

GOD clearly added " Illa ma kad salaf"- Except existing marriages- when He has forbidden for believers to marry sisters/mothers....

There is always the possibility that GOD will help sort it out ( for the believer). In fact GOD will definitely help the believer.

        GOD bless you.
        Peace.

          Peace.

No, I don't think so. Usually, such a stipulation does not exist within marriage contracts, unless you chose to insert it. Your marriage is still valid.

I think the Sunnis created that policy so that they could openly ostracize the person, and take back what they believe belongs to them (the believing party, and any resulting children).

I wouldn't want to be married to someone who doesn't believe in God.............. hypothetically speaking.

              Peace,

I agree with es. It would be difficult to remain married to someone who has turned away from God. It is difficult enough to be married to a sectarian woman who does not believe in God without a dozen Imams (as in my case).

              God bless you

I didn't state the spouse hypothetically doesn't believe in God. Just that they no longer believe in any religion - big difference.

Hmm I guess one should have to revise their marriage contract, hypothetically, then. Thanks for pointing that out .

Do you mean that 6611 is referring to Firaun's daughter? hmm
I understood that the word means someone who is no more a virgin or already been married, or divorced or widow.

(the message) 6010 O you who believe, if the believing females come emigrating to you, then you shall test them. God is fully aware of their belief. Thus, if you establish that they are believers, then you shall not return them to the rejecters. They are no longer lawful for one another. And return the dowries that were paid. And there is no sin upon you to marry them, if you have paid their dowries to them. And do not keep disbelieving wives, and ask back what dowries you paid. And let them ask back what dowries they had paid. Such is the judgment of God; He judges between you. God is Knowledgeable, Wise.

                                  best ayat for the question

also it's in a surah where it's mentioning equality on both sides if a woman from there side comes to you and if a woman from your side goes to them.

it's also a legal issue as well that is "infidelity"

marriage is a binding contract involving finance,
the marriage is void, the reasoning is their own they knew that when they with in to the contract.

i'm even sure you can force them to prove their fidelity by law too or sue them.

If you read the verses before it it will be clear to you that these women were expelled by their disbelieving husbands/family because they became believers. Also look at this line from aboveThus, if you establish that they are believers, then you shall not return them to the rejecters.

Allah is being fair here. The women were rejected. They have all the right to remarry. Hence, divorce is the way to go.

In other words, the verses are not saying that if a spouse changes her/his religion or become atheist they deserve divorce.

Love is the symbol of Allah. One who doesn't honor it is bound for hell on this planet.
