But the verse 316 is often misused and mistranslated by Sunni and Shia bearded guys to prohibit musical instruments. The word lahwal hadith is misinterpreted into 'amusing' or 'entertaining' things so they say it means something like music. Hadith means NARATIVES or TALES so how can music such as Mozart and Bach that do not even have lyrics be considered as lahwal HADITH?
Bukhari and Co's Books are the real lahwal hadith.

People just seem obsessed with issuing decrees "in the name of God" and perhaps that they want to feel important having "understood" the decree. And traditions play a big role and that they make into law that it might please God while it does not. And it might also be generalized from one case so that eventually 'all music' is forbidden. And many people think that God wants us to be very primitive, not enjoying anything and living like neanderthal beings.
If anything is "haram" with music it might be its contents, ie the lyrics, in that case. But no, God did not ban musical instruments nor singing. The voice of a female human can be used to allure the hearts of men though, and it is disputable if she should sound "sexy". It can be a bit distasteful in my opinion and if I have a choice I turn off the music or switch source. That is just me though and perhaps others feel differently about it.

Can you give an example of a song in which you consider the female's voice to be 'sexy'? I'm not asking about the lyrics she sings, but the actual voice itself?

Well, women actually can do it.
If they're able to speak, if they want to, women can make their voices sound sexy.
It can be done by perform songs, or even in the speaking such as conversation via phone, etc.
But, not all women feel the need to do something like that.

Otherwise just turn on the radio and listen to some pop music and you have it. Often they use the voice to give soft tones or sounds that are to imply sexiness. Add to that music videos with minimum clothing.
Otherwise are you blind that you cannot see it is a sex-fixated society? Even feminists agree to that and they are often not believers.

What sounds 'sexy' to you may not be sexy to someone else. Your comment made a striking resemblance to the idea of a woman's natural beauties becoming a trial or Fitna for men, ie. similar to Sunnis claim that a woman's voice or face should be hidden. That is why I asked you to clarify your view. A woman's voice itself should never be classed as sexy because that is their natural trait, what you are referring to are other aspects of singing such as lyrics or making use of seductive sounds (which even males can do in singing), but that is not as relevant as you seem to think.

Maybe not for you, but I suppose (edit) many sensible persons would agree that a woman in a music video shaking her ass and alluringly singing a tune would be considered "sexy". Undeniably without even seeing the video you may infer that she intends to be "sexy" by the tone of her voice.
I am perfectly gender neutral and men can cause their voice to sound a certain way as well. Often it is seen that the woman is using her body for attraction more than men, but it is equally sinful for both genders to act in immodest ways. For men it is mostly what he is capable of that is attracting even if the looks play a role. That is a stereotypical perspective but generally how it works. The man impresses with his capabilities and ability to provide for her. Purely natural it is, but it does not mean that we should live like animals and multiply. God created us to be couples, man and woman. Not to make the tongues drool on any person walking down the street to see how gorgeous he or she is.
It is nothing traditional over my words but purely the way it is. And man or woman should not make a wanton display of themselves and be modest. It is decreed information by my Master and your Master.
A woman cannot help her feminine sound of voice, but she can choose to use it in a soft tone to attract the men with a weak mind. And a man can choose to be modest in front of women too in various ways and everyone is responsible for their own deeds. The woman instinctively by nature dresses and behaves a certain way, but that does not say it is right for her to be that way for all the world. And she can be more or less sleazy, and I would opt for the latter. She is intended to seek a husband for herself and settle in there and not act out on other men to appear "sexy" to them in attempts to see that they confirm her beauty (by prolonged gazes or worse at her which can be pleasing to her). Modest does not mean like the sectarian with female "ghosts", but with decent clothing that does not draw excessive attention or reveal too much of her beauty. Of course any man can be turned on even by an attractive woman in "hijab" so it does not really matter how "shielded" she is. And most of the "sexiness" is about how she controls her physical avatar anyway. Bare arms and loose hair does not matter all too much if she acts modestly.
But back to the topic so music is not haraam nor singing not even the lyrics but it can be more or less righteous. The recitation (Quran) does not even mention the phenomenon but it talks about modesty and how to behave.

That's true. We cannot deny it.
Even as a woman I can sense it, but it is not attractive for me of course (since I don't have interest in the same-sex).

Women don't need to hide their voices when they speak modest or normal/ordinary.
But commonly, people can manage their voices in some difference manners.
So I think it depends on how we're featuring our voices. The voice itself of course is not the root of evil, the bad behavior is the problem.

Aqua is only talking about the good that Allah permits. So good music is permitted. Good music means no ill intentions.
If a woman is singing and has a pleasant voice plus the lyrics are innocent and good, then there is nothing wrong with it. Even if there is some sicko who pervs on women. Take Shreya Goshal for example, some weird men may find her voice sexy and imagine rude things, but really it's just a sweet feminine voice.
I don't know where sexy female voice came from, how can a voice be sexy when someone is singing?
In terms of singing, voice is either good or bad.
One can only be sexy when they talk hoarsely or seductively.
Sexy voice implies that when someone hears it, they imagine doing rude stuff with another person. Of course this can vary amongst people. When no one feels like that then it is not classed as sexy. Usually someone who thinks sexual thoughts of someone else who is not their spouse, is of a bad character.
Personally, I've never come across sexy voices, just blatant rude lyrics or implied dirty lyrics.
When lyrics are bad, then the music is obviously bad, e.g. Rihanna's Shut up and drive & Rude Boy- Me being innocent had no idea about the double meaning of the lyrics until someone well versed in the RnB music pointed it out to me.
As for rude music videos, like bum shaking as Man of Faith puts it, is obviously bad. But Aqua is not saying it's good. Sometimes the beats is good but the video and the words are not. Know what I do? Get the instrumental version and put my own words into it. ;D
Aqua's article is talking about the GOOD things. Obviously believers of Allah know what good is and never degrade women into sexual objects.
