Why read Quran?

This is on a serious note. I need to know, why you think we should read the Quran.
I beleive in it, I believe it is from God. But I'm not as much driven to read it, like I am to sleep, eat, watch movies, follow my passion, or work to bring change in my society. So, figured out, i gotta know the reason behind reading it, because i know i should, or i dont actually know if i should.

For me, I think reading Qur'an is good for my soul sanity, for my soul healing and improvements.
I have never found another book that could provide such improvements.
The Qur'an is the best book I've ever read.
Personally, I see the Qur'an as the sign of God's love.
I'm fascinated with the descriptions about God in the Qur'an.
I'm impressed with so many wisdom that I can found from this book.
There are many reason why I think I really need to read Qur'an...

As you are already a believer in Allah, you may need to read it for many reasons that you only know better.
People who don't believe in Allah, need to read the Book to know who is their Creator and Lord.

It is one of the best testaments to God's decree out there, but if you know the revealed decree to Moses you are just fine. What is most important is to know the actual decree anyways without the "mumbojumbo". Easily summarized Believe and do good. Slightly complicated Mosaic decree (Ten Commandments + a few details (no blood, no pig meat etc)). Most thorough Recitation (Qur'an) to X (Muhammad).
If you only just do good and believe in your Master and my Master, and everyone's Master, you will be fine. Work on God's mission of balance and become an ally of His. This "work" is the "jihad" some people always have to shed blood for, but it does not have to include weapons and is only until the system is balanced, just and fair.
God decreed certain commemoration days which there are wild disputes over and that is among the few decrees out there that can feel ritualistic. A specific community can have their rites as long as they are for God. Even without "Qur'an" you know that you have a "Sabbath" of some kind.
Apart from that it is the sects that have invented lots of "mumbo jumbo", incompatible with God's system, except some few things in the decree and which have remained virtually the same from the start. Each to their own way of showing appreciation as long as we do it and that we keep the connection and mindfulness and work to purify/better ourselves.

the quran instructs you to read the quran " read as much of the quran as may be easy for you" or so I've found it translated.

Reading Qoran will help you answer them, slowly but surely.
It will help you answer your own question in this topic, more than anyone here can.
Why read Qoran? The answer simply is in "Qoran".

I was like you too, Never had the "Motive" to read it.. I always thought I knew everything so why read it ?
But now I can't live without reading it, the reason is, the external world is full of negativities and pessimism, full of unkind people and unkind acts, where you get hurt, sometimes you get lost and you want to get back to the road.. for me, I will be really happy If I read the Qur'an.. because I have never seperated the Quran from this life, to me I have to do both Live by the Quran and live this life, this way I will get what is in the after life as well. Yeah for all those reasons, I read it daily If I can, so that I stay on a straight line, focusing on my goal. (I was very general here, just wanted to give u an idea)
I have tested my self, I forgive people more when Im in close contact with the Quran..I do better, I act more nicely and I will be more productive.
HOWEVER still, If I'm not into it, I prefer not to read it..
Everything has its own time.. I'm guessing you will get the time where you will be dissapointed a lot by people, and u will be infected by their poor ideologies, so Quran is the cure for me.Peace,

But one who reads the recitation recorded in a book also needs to have a very critical approach to its contents. Things are not as they seem to be at all with this piece of scripture, and words have shown to carry an ultimately different meaning than usually thought.
And in my thread 'Nearness and Guidance..." I will soon reveal why there are no "disbelievers" or "rejectors" but that is just a misunderstanding of the word gravely rooted in the issue of the gradual change of meaning of words and due to ignorance. Clouding the truth was nearly an accurate term as people on the forum were at, but I have found that the Arabic word 'kafir' means to corrupt. And I will soon unravel why in my thread after some research.
The ones that are threatened with Hell are the ones that corrupt and spread mischief across the lands. This ought to be a relief for the faithless such as 'Student of Allah' who believes that God is a terrorist. The ones that kill and spread mischief in the name of religion as per 'Student of Allah's example are the real 'kafiroon'. They change the decree while they ought to know because they are not sincere and they heed those who have composed the decree with their "hands" while it was not from God. They have listened to hearsay and formed the decree after what they read and heard. So is the true translation of the verses speaking of writing the book while ketaab is not book nor is there any mention of writing anything and the 'hands' in the verses are allegorical. If that is so even God would have hands (see 326 for an example).
