:: Tanween or Nunation in alQuraan ::

I would like to put forward my understanding about Tanween or Nunation used in alQuraan with the permission of my Lord, Allah.
Please note this is my personal understanding, go through all the aayaat carefully before any of your action.Tanween is usually translated as Nunation in English. It ends with an 'n' sound when added to a letter.

means specific book or specific written text.
means some book or some written text.
means single book or one written text.To understand it with the help of its usage in alQuraan, you can click on the aayaat numbers.

And when Musa said to his people, "Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you take us in ridicule?" He said, "I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant."

They said, "Call upon your Lord to make clear to us what it is." said, "He says, 'It is a cow which is neither old nor virgin, but median between that,' so do what you are commanded."
First of all they were given order to slaughter a cow , that means any one cow , but when they want more clarification then the word is changed to baqaratUN that means specific cow with added requirements.
You will find many words using tanween, including Muhammed, Nooh, Loot and more.

There are three Noohs mentioned in alQuraan. At the moment I don't know the meaning of Nooh, but surely it is not a name when it comes with any tanween.1125
And We had certainly sent a Nooh to his people, " Indeed, I am to you a clear warner.
And his story continues and the same Nooh was addressed as in 1132. Why do you think he was addressed by once and then by ?

And it was revealed to some Nooh that, "No one will believe from your people except those who have already believed, so do not be distressed by what they have been doing.
And his story continues and again this Nooh was also addressed by in 1142.

And a specific Nooh called to his Lord and said, "My Lord, indeed my son is of my family; and indeed, Your promise is true; and You are the most just of judges!"
And his story continues and again this Nooh was also addressed by in 1146 and 1148.
And these three stories ends with the following

That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you. You knew it not, neither you nor your people, before this. So be patient; indeed, the outcome is for the righteous.
Next aayat i.e., 1150 used the words and . You can see the exactly same word in 6145.

Say, "I do not find within that which was revealed to me forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out or the flesh of swine - for indeed, it is impure - or it be disobedience, dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced, neither desiring nor transgressing, then indeed, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful."

Salaam brother,
Allah sent down His book in clear Arabic. So, I tried to show how those Arabic words clarifies and define its meaning. How precisely tanween or nunation is used in this Arabic language, alhamduliAllah.
I don't think it is possible to clear these points for non-Arabic readers. But even if you look closer the Arabic words that I used as a examples, you will see there are differences in text. Or else you could take some help from transliteration.
For example
Kitaabu = Book or written text.
KitaabUN = Specific book or specific written text.
KitaabIN = Some book or some written text.
KitaabAN = Single book or one written text.This is how Arabic words defines its meaning in detail. But I strongly believe that at least you should know how to read Arabic. Understanding Arabic is not required for guidance really. But at least you should know how to read Arabic to see and understand its patterns and styles.
