    The Nabi,

Can you guess what the ' Sign in himslef ' could be for our own Straight Path? For whatever we speak of, if only it paves the Way towards Allah and His paradise, how best we shall feel! Hmmm...

Can you say why not it could be hurun ? Or what the sign is in your vision ? On what shall we place our Iman i this context ? Do you feel Allah will never show ? Will HE not show when He Himself could describe about them ? If it is not for our visualization how paradise could be and how great the things therein are, whatelse could those descriptions be for ? And why should HE describe about the paradise and its inhabitants in the Book? Consider if the Vision itself is allowed by Allah, how best we can conduct ourselves for the Best.

      Salaam Doc,

The vision is one of peace. This is perhaps the central theme regarding the reward of those who submit. I'm not sure if Joseph saw this sign that you speak of God being able to make plain, if it is indeed a sign available only in the hereafter. What I am saying is that Joseph saw a sign, perhaps his lust, and being a man of God became aware of the decree/alkitab and foresook the lady's advances because of the criterion/alfurqan. A simple, mundane sign, nothing spectacular. One which his eyes were opened to .

      Joe

Right ! Those who submit to the vision; for them is the Peace. The vision is the Sign. The sign is authentic without doubt which means actuality.

        Lust is a SIGN ?

foresook the lady's advances because of the criterion/alfurqan.

Criterion to see the diference between the purity of the ladies here and greatness of the huruns of paradise ?

        .

          Salaam Doc,

          Lust is a SIGN ?

Yes, the signs can be anywhere and in anything. Even in Moses' nemesis. Ayat = Sign or Evidence. These things are what can be clearly percieved. We must learn like Joseph to clearly see the good from the evil.

Criterion to see the diference between the purity of the ladies here and greatness of the huruns of paradise ?

No, to see that fornication was not becoming for a man of Allah.

          Joe

What do you regard the hurun as?

                Salam brothers,

Does it really matter what the signs were? Should we assume what GOD really wanted to say? If GOD wanted us to know the signs then he would have revealed them. May be GOD tells us to look for his signs (whatever they are for each of us) befoe we commit to a sin.

                Hussein

That's what I believe is the lesson therein . Whichever the sign was he bacame aware of right/wrong by remembering the Lord's regulations.

                    Salaams,

But ! according to QD(Quranic Dictionary)

Rahana = To give in pledge/Mortgage property/pay in advance/give as hostage.

                    Raheen=Pladged /engaged/given in pledge.

So seems he remembered his pledge - that is the sign, i think,Salaams.

                      Salams,

The word that was used in the Ayah was Burhan and it means Proof. It is not a derivative of the root "RHN"

Joe, hurun is the same-like as provided as our spouce in this world, but different in their nature; pure and free from the bad effects of men and jinns; they are like protected pearls in the shells and all are of same age; with their eyes lowered; sheltered in the tents. Why i am saying these is because if we think of allegory we shall bring allegory to all said about the hurun; -

If only we strike a balanced understanding between the two worlds - the lving and the god-promised, tomorrow's ever-lasting world, we shall have aspirations hoping for the best. Quran is not for the elite esoteric section of people but for a very rudimentary people too. Allah does not speak in a language of elite; but in common language of understanding for all the poeple.

                            mz357,
Proofs to me would be miracles . well said!
                            What is a ' miracle ' ?
A reality ? Or an Illusion ? Explain please.
What did prophet Yusuf see as proof that made him opt for the best instead of falling for the lust. Reality ? Or allegorical ? Or Illusion ?
                            Any one mayl clarify.
My answer Hurun is A reality linked with the present but the Best that we are yet to Witness; and that Yusuf had witnessed. He clearly wished himself the Best.

                              Salam brother mz357

I am sorry for the delay in answering your question. You can find "Burhan" in the Qur'an dictionary, under the Baa heading. The root is BRHN.

I agree with your statement regarding proofs and pledges. thank you.

                              Hussein
