    Salaam all,

This was on the front page of /r/islam today.
    https//i.imgur.com/arRNa6q.jpg
I would insert the picture directly, but it is quite large and doesn't fit well in the thread window. And I don't feel like resizing it.

I decided to look up the site the poster came from, was not disappointed.

    http//islamicposters.co.uk/

What do free-thinking brothers and sisters think of this poster and site?

    peace

I looked at the poster. Is just common sense really...

Seems muslims really like telling people what to do, lol.

        Salaam,

        Existential, thanks for sharing.
agree with Jane, it's common sense but to me this poster is so ironic or hypocritical that most of the do's and don'ts are so lacking from the muslim community. Lower your gaze is really ironic as, to my experience and multicultural observation, Muslim guys, whether they live in Pakistan, Uk or Palestine, they are most of the time the most unashamed when it comes to gazing at women.. Not to mention avoiding harmful substances.

And no 1 commandment isalways smile as smile is Charity, hahahaah, after reading all those dos and don'ts that one is a big challenge hehe.

          Yes.

'Lower the gaze and do not stare at the women' has become the opposite 'stare at the women to check they are dressed appropriately so they are not guilty of attracting your gaze'

Never have I felt more scruntinised for my appearance than when I was in an arab country.

          Peace.

That's a golden quote. And true. I have a friend, who's Anglo-American non-Muslim, and she lived in Egypt for 1.5yrs. She said she's never been a more mean person in her life than when she lived there due to constantly raging at men that harassed her.

It makes perfect sense, because the things that you guys mentioned above are true problem within their community.

For example for "Hinduistic Poster" they put

              • Don't bribe the police
              • For police don't receive any bribe.
              • Do not make a riot when your favorite cricket team lost a game.

Or for "Anglican Poster" they put

              • Respect other people's choice on favorite football team
              • Respect other people's rights to speak in Welsh and Irish
              • Get a job! Do not be lazy and waste your social allowance on beer and gambling
