POOR Vs. RICH
-
Allah's Wisdom is Poor !
Knowledge has earned us Riches !If our consideration is such that Quran is full of Wisdom and the other books of knowledge are never anywhere near in comparison with the Quran, why we seek knowledge that brings us only our worldly riches and pride? Why we are yet to reachout for Wisdom to live the heavenly life, in this world itself whose command is only with Allah !
What do you think is necessary?
Wisdom ? Or Knowledge ? - Heavens ? Or the world ? - Allah ? Or the Richness ? - -
Peace be upon you Doctor,
What do you think is necessary?
Wisdom ? Or Knowledge ? - Heavens ? Or the world ? - Allah ? Or the Richness ? -Why are you asking us to seperate all of these things and to choose from amongst them? The God says to aim for the eternal world(heavens) but not to forget our portion of this world. The God has not forbidden one to , for example, write a mathematics textbook and make money from the sales, thus becoming rich. The God only instructs us to see the wisdom in spending those riches on righteousness, not hoarding it from proper use. And lastly, knowledge is what is used to get to wisdom, so it is unwise to set them up as "enimies" to each other.
(20114) ...and say, "My Lord, increase my knowledge."

Salaam kyle,
The God says to aim for the eternal world(heavens) but not to forget our portion of this world.
Would you mind pasting a reference?... thanks. The God has not forbidden one to , for example, write a mathematics textbook and make money from the sales, thus becoming rich.
Without a doubt... but that would be of little or no benefit in the hereafter (I'm talking about the process of becoming rich, not what u do with it after). And lastly, knowledge is what is used to get to wisdom, so it is unwise to set them up as "enimies" to each other.
(20114) ...and say, "My Lord, increase my knowledge."
You have a valid point. What kind of knowledge are we talking about?- Then High above all is God, the King, the True. And do not be hasty with the Quran before its inspiration is completed to you, and Say ?My Lord, increase my knowledge.?

One more thing...
- And their prophet said to them ?God has sent Saul to you as a king.? They said ?How can he have the kingship when we are more deserving than him, and he has not been given an abundance of wealth?? He said ?God has chosen him over you and increased him in knowledge and stature.? God grants His sovereignty to whom He chooses; and God is Encompassing, Knowledgeable.
Saul may not have been given abundance in wealth, but he had better... increased knowled and stature. Just thinking out loud. http//web.gay.hr/smilies/think.gif

(2877) "And wish/desire in what The God gave you, the home (of) the end (other life), and do not forget your share in the present world, and do good deeds as The God did good to you, and do not wish/desire the corruption in the land/Planet Earth, truly The God does not love the corrupting/disordering ."

Let me go for another example, lets say an invention that you came up with, should you let someone else patent it and make money which might be hoarded, or should you , the righteous man, put the patent on it, thus insuring that the money will come to a righteous man (making him temporarily rich) and allow the righteous man to distrubute the riches properly? Having more money allows us to do more righteous deeds/give more charity.

All knowledge. Knowledge is the fatc sof the EXternal world outside. By gathering knowledge, and using the POWER of the statement that the God is ONE, we can learn WISDOM INternally.

Yes, good reminder. Only part that I am not solid on is the "wealth". Does this state that we should reject wealth, or that wealth is not the essential component. I am sure wealth is not an essential component to living in PEACE, but does that mean that those who make lots of money cannot live in peacefulness even if they continue to spend it as the God says?

Salaam kyle,

No, definitely not. Solomon was a king... and rich, wasn't he? ?...or that wealth is not the essential component. I am sure wealth is not an essential component to living in PEACE,
Yes, I totally agree with you here.but does that mean that those who make lots of money cannot live in peacefulness even if they continue to spend it as the God says?
Ofcourse not, it's rare to see today, but you can be rich and at peace, and follow what God says.My take is that, being rich isn't a bad thing. Infact it CAN be a very good thing. But what we have today, is worship of money, fame and power. We get sucked up into that world we see on TV in movies... or even in everyday life, expensive cars, houses etc. So the layman either dreams about it, works hard at getting it, steals it or gets depressed about it. If we talk about the guy who works hard to be rich, he usually ends up forgetting other things (for example, why we're here) and focuses solely on money. I remember seeing this TV program about this family in New York. The husband works like early morning to maybe 7-8pm. The wife goes shopping EVERDAY and spends a minimum of $1000. They never see the kids, those are taken care of with two maids. The parents have dinner out 6 days a week (without the kids). And they thought their life was perfect. What's worse, is people watch that and wish they had that kind of life! shock
Excuse my ramblings... I hope you get my point. Poverty or richness, none of those things will 'assist' or 'remove' from one's good deeds or spiritual guidance. )

I understood every part and it was well stated. I agree.
