Humor in Quran

In my opinion, the Qur'an contains no humor at all.
8613 Verily, this (the Qur'an) is decisive Word (that distinguishes the truth from falsehood)*
8614 And it is not for amusement (it is not jest, it is not a thing for joke)**my current understanding/opinion

Maybe not, but then again, we're laughing at many parts or enjoying them sincerely so that a laugh is induced and it says

And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep,So Allah, the inventor of humor, also the decider of what we find funny, and when and at what we laugh, is making some of us laugh yet we find it meaningful always too, so not just as entertainment, but as a teaching which gives us deep enjoyment so that laughs are produced and there seems to be irony.
Irony is like the ironic punishments in the Qur'an, like for example people refusing to prostrate then are found all dead prostrating and things like that, its very serious, but it gives relief to the believers, since we want evildoers to be killed on a grand scale, and hearing about that makes us happy for example!

I could laugh as well, even though I rarely laugh, it seems that I smile more often than I laugh.
About me and the Qur'an, as I recall, when I was reading/studying the Qur'an, it did not make me laugh.
That's me, and I voiced my opinion in this regard.

I can't really remember that.
Maybe I ever smiled because of happiness (not because of humorous thing) when I read part of the Qur'an (quote taken from the Qur'an).
The Quran is not funny for me, but it gives me lessons, serious warning, happiness, and hope.
I am happy about Allah, I like His consolation (solace), His promises, and His wonderful lessons.
For me, the Qur'an is special gift from my Lord, the most useful book, the most serious book, and the best book I ever read in my life.

Best book in my view too! Do you read it in English, Indonesian, Arabic or what? I've pretty much only read it in English but I've heard it read in Urdu and Arabic.

On their way, they confided to each other.6824
That from then on, none of them would be poor.6825

But when they saw it, they said, "We were so wrong!6827
"Now, we have nothing!"6828
The righteous among them said, "If only you had glorified (God)!"6829
They said, "Glory be to our Lord. We have transgressed."6830
They started to blame each other.6831
They said, "Woe to us. We sinned.6832
"May our Lord grant us a better one. We repent to our Lord."6833
Such was the requital. But the retribution of the Hereafter is far worse, if they only knew.I used to wonder about this story! Now, I reflect on it with a smile?

I personally dont see any humor, rather extremely worried. Especially the story good logic has referenced...if anything God is quite strict, fear bubbles inside wondering whether we'll make it through the hereafter or not..very easy to end up in horrific hell...
But maybe i havent understood the story.

In that Pagan interpretation well sure god is very strict and humorless, it has to reflect a very sectarian doctrine and lifestyle as it is their worldly portrayal of Allah that you read. If you look among Sunni or Shia adherents you see within their orthodox that they are completely numbed.
But Quran does contain quite some humor actually, I even had myself a real laugh at a point when Rabb was very humorous. It depends on whether the interpreter sought what Quran says or to briefly fit one's own flimsy doctrine into it.

Because you have not went to any full lecture involving this I will give away the answer; the answer is "anger" which emerges when you start becoming emotional. It further shocks that there is coherence between one of the "commandments" in Torah which is "do not kill" and Jesus saying which is "Do not even be angry with your brother" and here AL-Quran (the Manifestation) gives it out quite quickly what the answer is although the witted one would know already when it tells about "paleness that turns red", but obviously it still predicts not everyone will understand even after that phrase as it continues "not to grow old over this". (The lecture continues in subsequent passages, this was to highlight the humor).
It is the underlying cause for wishing to kill someone that you are after in following the Decree which is the teaching here. Even if you never explicitly kill anyone you have still killed them in your intention and succumbed to AL-Shaytan (the instinct) by becoming angry (concealing or showing it does not matter, it is the state of emotionalism that does). With anger comes the wish to harm someone which does not have to be physical and you wish revenge and can go to lengths to get someone punished harshly at a court of law. This was when Jesus taught not to seek revenge at all. By sinning in the first place they have already harmed themselves and degraded their spirit. Punishing them more does only feel good for your instinct. It is better to try to help the sinner in any way possible for inside of themselves they are great victims and often a greater victim than yourself.
If you can find out from where in Quran I have taken the above you will have my honor.

Qaf-Waw-Lam = to say/speak, to call, to be named, word/speech, utterance, a thing said, greeting, discourse, one who says/speaks. To inspire/transmit/relate/answer/think/profess, emit an opinion on, indicate a state or condition or circumstance. qa'ilun - speaker, indicator.
I.e. Qul does mean more than "say", it has to do with the conveying of information and the mode can vary and does not have to be verbal but if you can convey it through signs then you have also managed it. The person who Qailun is "expressing himself/herself" in literal sense.

ok I laugh lot of times when God address to the people who try to play games..
but the most funny thing is,,, when moses run away while encountering the first direct contact with Allah,, it makes me laugh even he was brave though but that what we are from inside ,, truth is this our ego show us we are brave as soon we hear a bit loud voice of blast or anything we suddenly get scared sometimes scream but its true we get scared from lot of things which we never mention to others,,now more laughing spots of quran
when moses ,, grab the beard of aroon, and situation is quite funny as haroon was innocent ,,,they plotted a plot and we are plotting a plot for disbeleivers...(make me laugh always) this is repeating verse of quran on several occasions.in different manners..
when yonus run away sometimes it makes me laugh and sometimes sad... sad due to the test that he encounter after that ...and laugh due to the fact somehow we always run away from our tensions ,, or simply runaway from our duties...
the jealousy of iblees makes me laugh sometimes ,,, when he refused to prostrate... how stupid he was even knowing he cannot run away from God..
the most laughing point when angels come to destroy the nation of lot,, those basterd keep an bad eye oon angels and lot get afraid ... but when angels told him dnt worry they dnt really know who they are dealing with,,, we will bang them upside down ,,hahaha trust me that situation make me laugh...
lot more ,,but again matter of time and space I have somme more funny situations of quran for example when the people of paradise will lagh at the people of hell,,, its quite funny when somebody in heavens see his enemy burning and on other hand he got a girl with a pack of pure wine and music ,,, haha toba I dnt know should I laugh or what but according to ayat allah himself said they will be laughing at them
yeh obviously quran is complete book it must contains some laughs for us... actions ,, science ,, fights ,, fun,, comedy everything in our holy book ,,, but problem is with interpretation ,,our scholars always make it strict even in the case of jokes,,, they present it in a manner that laghing is kind of sin while reading quran,,,but Allah is wise and noble...
