I wanted to share this, one of the reasons I left Islam in the past was the lack of recompense to women, BUT that is only what the translation says...

Please read all the "chapter" about companions and give me your opinion if you know arabic.

Lets share this for all women we know !!!

The first time they is spoken of in Qur'an, hell or paradise, it is clearly said that it speaks in parables. We are told also that we will find in paradise something that we will recognize as having tasted here. And it employs parables because those things are boyond our present knowledge or understanding, there trying to bring them out of parables into some materially knows reality is doomed to failure. It it also said that in Paradise we will have what we desire, don't remember the aya.

That leaves us with parables to knows what we will get there if we try to be pure and if we try to improve and become better persons and more open to compassion and self-dedication to truth and justice.

It is obvious that if we get what we desire it will not be something hat on this earth we have gotten us nearer paradise and God and not further. Tehrefore to put lust into the cocktail will also get us into some parable but not that of paradise but of Hell.

Huris, male or female and the joung boys it is also spoken of are some images of beauty and gentleness and amiability, of the atmosphere of pure, loving ambiance in which cretures will be dwelling. they are not a lottery ticket where you get to get the magnificent house, the incredible car and incredible sex servicers.

We cannot get nearer to imurity by being pure nor viceversa. And lust, for lust sake is not very pure, that I can gather.

      Salaam

        Thanks for sharing, sister lila.

Forgive me, I can't contribute much in this issue, but in my opinion, it could be that 7833 has nothing to do with hoor.

I suppose my curiosity about hoor (few years ago) has become one of the reasons that brought me to study the Qur'an more seriously.

After reading various opinions related to hoor, I still think that I don't know the real meaning of hoor.

Hopefully it (?) is something pleasant for all gender.

        Salm.

Do you need to know the "real" meaning of "hoor" or the parable meaning of hoor which is what is used inthe Qur'an. Think of supreme bueaty and supreme purity and peace and satisfaction, and kindness all over. The images are there to evoque purity. We strive to purify ourselves in this earth, then in Paradise we continue to aspire to purity, that is why we are told that we will recognize something of what we knew on earth. If on earth we have not felt a wish to purity it is obvious that it is not in Paradise where we are going to land, but in some base hell.

In fact when these ayas of Paradise are taken to mean something like the lust of having many sex servicers what we are being is lusful and promiscuous in our aspirations, we are not getting into some deep love or wish for comunion swith God and another person, if we wish for lust on thise earth how on earth are going to get anyhwere near paradise. Paradise we carry ourselves with us. Death will allow us to discover beyond the material constrictions. It is preposterous that lust whould be a sin here and that if we are good we should be rewarded with unbridled lust.

I cannot fathom that kinf of "unreasoning", it so preposterous! What would a pure person man or woman have to do with such riot if he or she aspired to paradise? Something is not turning right in people's minds if they entertain such kind hopes for the future.

By the way, that kind of virgin women young aslways and all that that seems to be upheld by some nuts are already possible on this earth. If you are stink rich you an have then made of flesh, if you ar ento you can have plastic dolls, gorgeous with everything you care to dream. No need to be good and go to Pradise for that. Tht is what I think soe people dream, with palstic dolls but believing that they are women to satisfy their frustrations of not being anybody. Nuts. All in the head.

          Salaam

            Peace.

There is enough trouble/prejudice/problems that are rife between men/women, males/females, husbands /wives....in this life.

Do some want this situation to carry on in the hereafter?

Clean your minds, clean your souls in readiness to meet your creator!!!

The "pure" will meet the "pure" in the afterlife! Male or female is all irrelevant after this life?

            GOD bless you all.
            Peace.

To be honest, I want to know the real meaning of hoor (I have curiosity), but maybe I can't really know about it during my life in this world, unless God allows me to know about it before I die.

Portraying hoor as "virgin nymph for the pious man" is too "rough" or even "sassy", if I may say so.

I think "hoor/hr" does not specifically refer to female entity.

If I loook at the use of the triliteral root ww r ( &#1585 in the Qur'an, then to me, looks like this root has implication to describe some qualities such as "fair", "loyal", "close/familiar", "pure/clean", "solidarity", "honest", "supportive", "caring", the words that relate with goodness that can be find in the bond of friendship.

So, in my personal opinion, perhaps "hoor" is used to describe the excellent and fair quality of something, e.g. the quality that required to establish pure friendships, probably such quality will be granted by God to those who reside in Jannah.

                  Salm.

I wanted to share this, one of the reasons I left Islam in the past was the lack of recompense to women, BUT that is only what the translation says...

The actual meanings of "Companion" (hoor al-ayn) depends on the eye of the beholder.
For some (straight adult) men, they think they shall have girls to do sex orgies..
And this has become the 'most popular view'.
No wonder it ain't compelling to gays, (straight) women or children.

The one that I'm most intrigued about is actually the 'sexual urge' itself.
Given.... there's no need of doing species reproduction, why should there be any 'sexual urge'?
Sexual urge is driven by hormone to ensure the longevity of the species (reproduction)
And that's why children doesn't have any.

In my (personal) view, in jannah (if it really exist) people will become 'genderless' and 'non-sexual'.

Sex is whatever one makes of it, like most things. It may ennoble, it may demean. And like all the physical things it is an allegory of a deeper reality.

If we ennoble it here, like if we ennoble anything else here we will have it in the purest state when we leave the material world. The material world is reality flatenned out to three or four dimensions. Just like a picture is a relaity flatenned to two dimensions. Our life here is constricted because it is material. In the Other we will recognize things, but they will be beyond what we can conceive now. I think to start with one may feel absolutely lost till one gets a "foothold". But I don't know.

What the Qur'an says, I can't remember the aya, we will get what we desire. By that of course, I do not understand the 72 sex servicers or anything of the kind, but those desires, the deep desires of the heart for beauty, justice, rahma, joy, trust, compannionship, extasis..., whatever our heart desires. We don't get in this world all we crave for, but the mere belief in it makes for a satisfactory life. In sha Allah may we all attain to that and may God forgive us our little material meannesses.

                          Salaam

Hello! thank you all for your replies -)

I wanted to share it for the purpose I mentioned, for women so we wont be discouraged, or maybe for the new hadith followers reading the forum, who knows?

We already know its an interesting topic for all , feel free to share it if you want to but dont try to make fun of my "good logic" on where or when sharing things. Thank you.
Btw I dont feel bad if some guys comment here, I suppose we could have an "al about women" category but not restricted to women...we dont need that "women are worst/shameful" thing.

I also think hoor as whiteness could mean pureness, well only God knows.

And I think I read somewhere in Quran that God will repeat creation for the last time in 2920 , so there will be no need for companions for procreation, maybe for fun, or who knows? Only God knows.

Share if you want and see those hadith followers confused! Thats the first stage of learning.

                            Thank you all! -)

This is the topic that actually started my doubts. There are those who translate the word "hoor" (plural for "Hawra" (female) and "Ahwar" (male)) as pure companions. I'm quite content with such a definition and it makes sense.

This is the topic that actually started my doubts. There are those who translate the word "hoor" (plural for "Hawra" (female) and "Ahwar" (male)) as pure companions. I'm quite content with such a definition and it makes sense.
