Has the ISIS Boko Haram groups changed the Muslim world

Just wondering if any of you witnessed any change in Muslims with the arrival of the these new groups like Boko Haram and ISIS and all this sectarian conflicts. Could many Muslims now be questioning their faith or even abandoning Islam all together? I wonder if this will support our cause or we might actually fall from grace from it.
I am asking this because a few years ago a person commenting on Quranist had this to say

Granted not all of them are the same, and many are not as extreme as others, but one thing is certain these are the people who will totally change the Islamic landscape within a century. This might sound like dialectics (its not) but a counterpart to the rightist Taliban has arisen in the extreme secular left. These are the people who will take over the Muslim world (FOX News was wrong, it won't be Osama bin Laden). These "Quran Aloners" are a very small and fragmented minority today, mostly in the middle to upper classes. But they contain all the characteristics that a future mainstream movement needs to have and become the dominant Muslim denomination of the future. And all the work that the radical conservative Muslims are doing is directly contributing to their rise.
Their principles are diverse, but they have a few common beliefs. Almost all of them reject the "5 prayers" scheme. Some only accept 3, some reject the prayer totally, saying it was never meant to be an actual ritual. They also reject the significance of Mecca, and refuse to face it. Some of them believe that everything that takes place in Mecca is pagan idolatry.
These beliefs may sound very far fetched and crazy to the mainstream Muslims today, but it is very clear to me that that these beliefs will become the mainstream views within the Muslim ummah. It happened with Rome, with Christianity, it happened again with the Reformation. And the same will happen in the Muslim world... It is the same pattern with every new religion. If it attracts the middle-to-upper classes at first, you can bet it will keep expanding until it is the dominant force. There are no statistics, but I bet they are adding at least 40% new members per decade, just as the LDS Church. Such a growth, while it seems small at first, is exponential.
I don't really have much in common with mainstream Muslim sects either.. most of the time I am disagreeing with their beliefs... but this group of "Quran Aloners".... this is something completely different. Some of these people can hardly be considered Muslims at all, as some of them don't even believe in the finality of revelation, and feel that the Quran is "incomplete"... In my book, these people are much more dangerous then the Taliban, because their beliefs are much more attractive for the majority. Theirs will be a silent revolution, without weapons, without beheading... And all the conservative Wahabi Taliban types are only making it easier for them, because it is -Islam- which is being put on the chopping block because of their actions.
... This is inevitable. There is no way to stop this... Many Muslims will convert to their side in the coming decades. Anyone in fact who values a self-negating "rationality" above faith will join their ranks. Maybe another war, or two, is all that is needed for a major shift in ideology to take place.. and when the time comes, these people will be waiting to step up and offer their "solution" a complete reformation of Islam, stripped of all faith... Setting the stage for a slow evaporation and drift towards a total materialistic atheism in the Muslim world....
I say this is inevitable, because this time, unlike the time of the Mutazillites, there are no core battalions left in the Muslim world to hold back this tide of skepticism... Too much faith has eroded over the centuries... There are not going to be any more al-Thalabis or al-Ghazalis, this time... they will win.

What was concerning me is his analysis about the ideological shift that will occur.
Maybe another war, or two, is all that is needed for a major shift in ideology to take place.. and when the time comes, these people will be waiting to step up and offer their "solution"
I wonder if we are seeing this shift take place or is it too soon to tell. But events do seem to be going exactly like how he predicted but seems a lost sooner than he imagined.

Right. Maybe he sees a similarity with the European protestant experience that led to a dwindling of religious attachment. I am also wondering if Quranist don't have enough exposure to make a difference and many Muslims will simply leave Islam altogether. Too many Muslims still do not know what a Quranist is. But never before has islam been such a destructive force as we see now.
We may be living in some interesting times.

But if people leave faith altogether because of this they must not have had faith to begin with. They were "believers" because of their sect and not God.
It is incredible that all that "mumbo-jumbo" is so badly associated with the phenomenon of God.

I, personally, do not like the word "Quranists" referred to us. Wasn't this word started by our opponents to refer to us? The article also mentions we believe Qur'an is incomplete?? When? I have never heard anyone saying this. There is also someone saying we don't believe Qur'an to be the word of GOD??
I don't think majority of Muslim word will follow God through Qur'an only in future. They will still stick to their sects, but may they will evolve like the majority of Christians have.

Yes the term Quranist (quraniyoon) was initially used by the Egyptian authorities when they had a crack down on us on the 70s.
But what I wanted to know is whether anyone detected a change in how Muslims react to our message.

I sense the Muslims from the big sects are beginning to see this kind of movement as a greater threat now and understood that they cannot just reject it as non-important gibberish from a confused mind but actually have to use their conjecture as a more sophisticated weapon against it. The result is often just as contradictory as the original arguments albeit they often use deceptive rhetoric and often the argument about millions of Muslims around the world. They defend a sinking ship if one would deal the mercy hit.
However, I am not sure whether the increased "Islamic" extremist expressions is a subconscious reaction to the perceived threat from the surrounding world, including arguments from ideas they consider "liberal"/dishonorable and hence "kafar" ideas, and in return a threat to their authority.
In another manner I sense that this disorder is part of a prophecy already been issued in the past. Much of the extremism is due to conjectural or non-conjectural hearsay about a rise of Islam and they seek to fulfill it although I am not sure what has triggered it. However, current world events may simply have given them a reason to be deluded into thinking that now is the time, and they subconsciously fulfill a true prophecy not found in hearsay, although the problem is that without perceiving it THEY are the "kafars" in the prophecy as is often the case in shrewd prophecies in a way to expose hypocrites by God.
In case you did not notice it it occurred both with Isa/Jesus/Isaiah and the one that prophesied the Quraan's passages. They were awaiting returns of messengers/prophets, but when they came they rejected them because they said what they did not want to hear.
If one speaks the truth to them today 2014; very few people would like to hear as well because they are cursed into being void of any sound judgment. Part of what the "Quranyoon" movement speaks of is the truth but few like to hear although the collective amount of people adhering to it causes a concentrated light to emit from the center, which may purify people should they be patient and steadfast and keep being in the light.
The key is to nailing exactly what it is that God wish to have expressed with the narrative called Qur'an, and seeing through the deceptive appearance of the Arabic tongue perverted over more than a thousand years. There are no compromises, the scripting language says what it says and the issue is merely at pinpointing it with no compromises in meaning and the Arabic found in Qur'an is very exact as some people have already pointed out. Ironically; many different ideas as to what was written has emerged, so it proves that current interpretation down on letter level having some sort of contradiction problems which must be solved by "reparsing" the whole language while relearning what has been learned.
Despite the many attempts to turn around and properly interpret the infamous 434 I am safe to say that 99.9% of all attempts are complete failures and in disrespect to women despite that the original true version is not. And it does not talk about what is traditionally perceived either, even if changing beating into put forth or separate from that does not give justice to it whatsoever.
One must erase the concept of religions, and many people utter that religion is a vain concept but they do not act like they speak; and God is not an object for worship which people must understand and has no need of anything, absolutely nothing, not rituals no sacrifices; but all God created was for to walk in The Master's spirit, getting "assimilated" into the abstract realm of God. Allah, Elah is a long-lasting description for God meaning 'be that + THAT (god) + it is (roughly) . Elah, without Arabic definite AL prefix it still refers to 'be that it is', much like God allegedly said to Moses many years ago. Another word used for God was "BAAL" which is also a word for god although the name itself suggests a materially comprehensible object given the letters forming the name whereas the Allah word marks an entity that simply exists, no explanation and one cannot fathom or measure God, grammatically impossible to use as idol, and people in the past knew this.
Blue A kind of pronoun suffix bound to the subject. Arabic speakers know this, but yet the Allah word is treated differently because it is hype'd.
And B - SM - ALLAH ( ) suggestively means "with/in spirit of 'is that that it is'" as highly literal translation. ESM is not a name, and people knowing ancient Middle-Eastern traditions know this; "names" in these traditions are strongly associated with words of spiritual meaning, for example, M - hammad, Emanu'el, Zachariah, Isa, Hussein, Hassan, Ali, Akram, etc etc, and you "name" a baby strictly minding what kind of fate/purpose you prophesy/ascribe to this baby, but in conclusion in the end they ought to live by the spirit of God/Allah. But in the present I sense people just give names to their babies after their idols rather than for the purpose of the spiritual meaning of the name. How many babies are not named Muhammad?
When one cannot even separate materialism in the perception of God/Allah; how can someone expect them to show sound judgment?
GOD IS NOT AN OBJECT AND CANNOT BE COMPREHENDED BUT SIMPLY IS AND THE BEST YOU CAN DO IS LIVE IN/BY THAT SPIRIT AND HONOR IT.
And your soul NAFS is one without spirit, so choose away where you shall stand. Join in with THAT and show good deeds and behavior, or remain in the darkness void of sound judgment thinking THAT will hear you because of your many words.
Either way; I am not angry writing this text but only wishing to help someone who care to listen and understand, or if they deem that I say anything wrong regarding letters please leave input or at least lift your eyes up that it may be true somehow along the lines. Just one more thought-provoker
Allah, the word; begins with the definite AL, but the word after AL, the grammatical prefix, continues with another LAM . Could this be a mere coincidence, or can also the LAM signify DEFINITE (which I translate as THAT in my translation) meaning the LAM letter carries a very intricate meaning and is not just another insignificant letter depending on context here (traditionally thought to be ELAH)? Hence is it not logically viable that so often regarded as a pronoun suffix also be so here? As to what I have talked of in this post this causes the literal meaning of the word AL - L - AH to mean be that - that it is, or ELAH be that it is.
Note I take the alef letter to mark the condition of "being", "to be" and so is the perception also in the above elaboration.
Ah well; I am not expecting people to swallow it, despite intense efforts, so easily. To many of you I am likely just a madman messing around on this forum in my delusion. Hope one day I can make you disappointed.

Which is what I am wondering. That this new level of extremism might change their attitude about being in denial that there is something wrong with Islamic thought as it stands. They hear always wonderful stuff in Juma' prayers and sermons but I am wondering if these extremism will make them question more and stop sugar coating.

A question is how anyone can justify the their utterances you hear reported about them having said in media and then calling oneself an upright person in the light of God and calling anyone else "kafar". What kind of god is then that?
If under those circumstances one considers oneself "righteous" they are void of any kind of sound judgment and could not even understand 1% of God's message, and particularly not the "be good" part.

I do not know about others, but I don't think you should stop writing. I always do read your posts because I want to learn. I find so much wisdom in your posts. I read many other posts here as well. The only reason I do not reply is because I do not know for sure and tell myself I have to verify all this after I read Qur'an translation myself first. Some posts/topics I just save them to come back to the later. Also, I feel like very new to all the information and feel dumb if I start debating here knowing nothing in the first place. Many here have already read Qur'an, learned Arabic, read the other Holy Books etc. I haven't even completed the Qur'an translation yet. I do not Arabic either, so I just stay quite for now and reply to only the topics I think I can say something for sure.

The groups and the sectarian conflicts are nothing new at all, they always appear throughout the history of "Muslimhood".
The common people awareness of the above fact is something new.. much thanks to the widespread of media and better tools and means of doing communications, including the internet.
Before such advancement in communications, the imam / mullah / priest / khateeb is the common people's sole source of 'what's going on in the world'. And certainly they filtered out the information and only passes on the story according to their own point of view and fits their own objective / agenda. But now, people have multitude of sources for information.
Thus the future is clear, the dogmatic religion shall fall, truth shall prevails and their lies shall be widely exposed..
People will leave the religion or at least detached themselves from it and grow up to become wiser.
And those who don't... well they shall become extinct... by their own doing.. -
I don't know what to say about the OP. One thing i must point out is that, atrocities of Boko Haram or ISIS are often ruled as fanatism or political and so Muslims are barely driven to reaccess their faith by these insurgents.
What will best drive Muslims to research and arrive at the truth is witnessing the full practical application of Sharia law as in Saudi, Pakistan or Iran. Then many of them will awaken to reality and smell the rat.
At least, this is the path that led me to Qur'an alone. The Shariah laws like Death for apostasy, prohibition of erecting Churches, extorting Jizya from Jews/Christians in return for freely practicing their faith, Pagans must embrace Islam or die and many other oppressive and unjust stuffs lead me to question my religion, my morality and luckily for me, i discovered Qur'an alone just in time to solve my issues. Otherwise, like many sunnis, i 'll still been torn apart. Of course, i didn't have to witness implementation of Sharia to learn the truth.
But for those who prefer to ask deceptive or apologist Sheikh than reasearching and reading, taking Sharia to their hometown will suffice. And i mean full Sharia as detailed in hadith or tafsir books, no circumvention, no modification. Uncut Sharia like the Talibans.
