I think you are the best "muslim" of them all, i.e. you do you not subscribe to any religion, you said.

God does not deal in names or labels but for God to say esm (name) about "Muslim" in the narration God refers to spiritual alignment. The two letters suggest that. By other means God spoke of a mindset; the kind of behavior shown by those who are spiritually of that way.

It is common to miss that God seldom if ever speaks in concrete references to something and this often causes people to complicate things. It is a human fallacy of materializing everything from divine words to God, but one has to leave the material life behind and go the spiritual way. It is the soul that is your submission focus.

      Anyways; welcome to the forum.

      Be of one with God

          Peace be with you, Freebeejay.

Welcome to the forum. There are lot of ideas here, moderate, rational and canny. Please feel free to question and interact peacefully.

Also, no need for labels. You are right about it. 'MUSLIM' isn't a noun but an adjective that describe those who believe in God and peace. Once you believe in God and seek only peace, you are a muslim even if you don't use the label.

If you don't mind, as a practising muslim years back, what got you disillusioned? Were they certain doctrines that repelled you?

            Peace

There is nothing wrong with calling yourself a submitted one (Muslim), but the label (sect name)you attach to it that makes it wrong.
