general question bout parents

could someone tell me why parents are old fashioned ? I mean they dont think how we think ... when you tel them that times are changing .. they lash out and say that religion isnt changing but what we're trying to say is that the way we see Quran is changing .. tell them that coverning the head isnt necessary .. they say that its written in the quran ... dont understnad people ..

The human being learns by imitation. There comes a point when we grow that the WILL is suppossed go take over and we do not just imitate any longer, but we start to make CHOICES! D
MOST of mankind however continue to just imitate. They never take CONTROL and they just continue to imitate without REASON, so we read the following warning from the God;
(2170) And if it (is) said to them "Follow what The God descended." They said "But we follow what we found our fathers on it." Even even if their fathers were not reasoning/comprehending a thing and nor being guided ?

Lets hope that you will not learn that lesson of being inflexible to reason, no matter how old you get. Lets not think there are no parents who follow thier childrens BETTER reasoning of the system of the God. There are some parents who hear the call and accept, so we cannot just say parents in general.

The best answer you will get is when you become a parent yourself and your children are of the same age as you are now! Maybe then you will understand!
But no matter how much we are not alike our parents and you think that you are so different with your kids than your parents were with you. There comes the day when you are mourning with your kids argueing with them to get dressed or to organize their room or whatever and you hear your voice and the choice of words and you think It sounds just the same as my mother/father did! shock

I don't think the question is about ordinary parent child differences, I think the questioner was talking about spiritual understandings and why parents are old fashioned in that regard.

Ask them where they see the word head in English in sura 24.31 or if they find the word head in Arabic in that same verse.
Why do people make lies and say something is in Quran when it is clearly not written, then make silly explanations for it? The latest I've heard is, "Well, it's implied that it means to cover the head."
