Toilet Paper, Wudu, and 5:6
-
Hello Everyone. I have a question. My wife is certain that you must wash your waste excretion areas with water in order to perform salah, and I tell her that 56 gives the simple basis that is required once someone has answered the call of nature. I believe toilet paper is good as well and is good for peforming salah, although there is no harm in doing extra washing. However, she thinks any "najes" will invalidate prayer. Can I hear some honest opinions and foresight. Thank you. God bless.

I'd prefer you wash yourself thoroughly.

Well, the discussion on what nullifies what is never ending.... but, using water is no doubt much more hygienic. Just rubbing the excrement off with dry paper won't do much cleaning on the finer levels. If for no other reason, at least use water for the cleanliness sake. Also toilet paper are manufactured with loads of nasty chemicals, but as I said, use water for the sake of freshness and cleanliness. As far as religious dogma is concerned... i don't know. Just use common sense.
Peace

My answer do the best you can with what you have.
However, she thinks any "najes" will invalidate prayer.
Side note
Tell her post-toilet urine excretion may be common. Read from here onwards
