    Salam Bros,

If I had to think about what death would relieve me from, provided if, and it's a big if, I will go in a worthy state (by the Grace of God), the list is to do mainly with my mental and physical health, which even if I know I have little control over, make my life sometimes annoying, sometimes a misery, and sometimes frankly a nightmare, also it deprives me from doing the good I wish I could...

Praying is important to me, I am not just speaking of the ritual prayer, but the actual asking Allah for things, and even conversing in a monologue with Him.

My dreams are very vivid, and I do believe I get guidance and solutions from them, even if I don't understand the mechanism, I have no theological problem with this as Joseph was blessed with their interpretations, even to foretell future events, not that I am presumptuous enough to compare myself to a Prophet.

If there is a thing I am ashamed of, it is my involvement in the Occult and Magic for a small period in the past, even though it taught me some things about how Satan works on a segment of Humans, particularly some of the Elites who are governing us, and I am glad I repented from this, and Allah willing it is behind me.

Would you like to discuss the magic stuff at all? What did you do and learn?

I find magic to just be a kind of convoluted prayer, we have more direct access to magic with Allah who is the same one that makes a magical act/prayer successful or not. Simply, there is no power that can accomplish anything at all except Allah, so if magic ever works, it is Allah, and if it ever doesn't work, it is Allah. The Qur'an even mentions that when referring to magic, that it can't do anything except as Allah does it, it is just an over the top way of praying for people who think they will get better results that way.

I have battled ridiculous online magicians when they were threatening me during an expose of some things online in a thread called The Brotherhood, haha, they used lots of nasty word techniques and curses that were pretty humorous, but just like they thought Musa was a magician, I caught them in all their games and used it to expose them even further.

If one is to imitate the practices of the Prophets haha, cursing evildoers is a big part of it, and there is no blacker magician than a devotee of Allah, the power of black magic itself.

It is good you regret your involvement in magic, since now you are at the point of petitioning Allah directly for help.

          Yea... okay, but...

Have you ever think that perhaps Allah still wants you to live because He wants to strengthen your faith in Him? Or to purify you more.

We should put our trust in Allah, if He wants us to still alive, then it is something good for us, inshaAllah.

Thank you sister JavaLatte for your good advice...)

For some people, Allah gives them length in years is not for good in store for them, but that they increase in their evil conduct.

                Peace Arman.

Brother there is a difference between wanting something even though you know it is up to GOD and doing something or "chickening out" from life.
Every day, I "soldier" on and try my best( Devoted to my Lord) and ready to face the challenge ahead, trusting in GOD and seeking His help.

I am not a coward, I appreciate my life and I thank the Lord for everyday I am here.

However ,longing for death is another hobbie of mine. I am looking forward to returning to my Master.

Say, "If the abode of the Hereafter is reserved for you at God, to the exclusion of all other people, then you should long for death, if you are truthful."

                295
They never long for it, because of what their hands have sent forth. God is fully aware ...

In fact, you will find them the most covetous of life; even more so than the idol worshippers. The one of them wishes to live a thousand years. But this will not spare him any retribution, no matter how long he lives. God is seer of everything they do.

                GOD bless you brother.
                Peace.

                  I thought of that too.

I have no love of life, but no confidence about facing judgment either, so I live in a middle place. Not pleased with the nightmare, not looking for trouble. I do wish for relief, but am never certain of it for myself. So just like the Prophets in some examples seemed to never even be sure their prayers were accepted, I think that sort of attitude is an important part of keeping on track and trying harder and harder.

I'm really happy to see all the militaristic language though.

Yeah, since I mentioned the idea of "WAR" earlier, the idea that we are in a state of surrender to the duty of battle against evil and unpleasantness, or against the flesh or whatever one might want to say. So then Arman made a reference to soldiers fighting willingly, and goodlogic mentioned "soldiering on" and stuff like that.

must be something not wanting me to elaborate on some things.

Anyway, I do not wish to answer these questions for now, as events like deleted posts are telling me

I am more interested in exploring my lineage and selling a copy of an oldish Quranic manuscript to fund a few projects.

It happens to me lots too. So what I do sometimes is I write it in a text document on my computer instead of typing it in here because my browser crashes and deletes it all. Then I just copy paste it in here when it is ready. I've had to write, and re write, and re write again, it can be incredibly frustrating but I too take it as some change occurring, since a change does occur due to it usually.

It has happened to me on Youtube comments too.

                                        A lesson from the past
                                        294
Say, "If the abode of the Hereafter is reserved for you at God, to the exclusion of all other people, then you should long for death, if you are truthful."

                                        295
They never long for it, because of what their hands have sent forth. God is fully aware ...

                                        296
In fact, you will find them the most covetous of life; even more so than the idol worshippers. The one of them wishes to live a thousand years. But this will not spare him any retribution, no matter how long he lives. God is seer of everything they do.

                                        GOD bless you brother.
                                        Peace.

                                        Peace Good Logic.

Thanks for clarifying your thoughts in such a gentle manner. Somehow gentlemanship seems to be a rare commodity these days!

I am still not fully convinced that "I appreciate my life and I thank the Lord for everyday I am here." and "longing for death is another hobbie of mine." can go hand in hand. I too look forward to meeting my Master as soon as my Master deems my purpose has been served, not before that, though. But of course you may have your own way of rationalizing and balancing these two apparently contrary feelings and only Allah is to be judge for that.

As for the verses you quote, those are challange to a specific group of people - who are conviced that they have better afterlife than this life - to seek death as a challange to their "false" faith. I do not see these verses to be encouragement for the faithful to seek death. Rather Qur'an encourages faithful to gracefully and thankfully accept Allah's decision on matters of life and death.

Some other verses for your consideration in this matter

2200 Then when you have decreed your rites then remember Allah as you remember your fathers or with stronger commemoration. Then among mankind who say, ?Our Master, give us in the World!? and for him there is nothing from portions in the Hereafter ?

2201 And among them who say, ?Our Master, give us nice (things) in the world and nice (things) in the hereafter and preserve us from the suffering of the fire!?

2202 They are the ones for whom there is share of what they earned and Allah is swift in measuring.

(My personal translation, cross checking recommended.)

                                        GOD bless you brother.
                                        Peace.
