    Salam sister Javalatte,

You are a righteous person and I will take what you wrote as a prayer for me.

    Thank you so much

Thank you very much for your kind words, brother.

It's nice to have you here with us.

      Peace Arman.

Brother there is a difference between wanting something even though you know it is up to GOD and doing something or "chickening out" from life.
Every day, I "soldier" on and try my best( Devoted to my Lord) and ready to face the challenge ahead, trusting in GOD and seeking His help.

I am not a coward, I appreciate my life and I thank the Lord for everyday I am here.

However ,longing for death is another hobbie of mine. I am looking forward to returning to my Master.

      A lesson from the past
      294
Say, "If the abode of the Hereafter is reserved for you at God, to the exclusion of all other people, then you should long for death, if you are truthful."

      295
They never long for it, because of what their hands have sent forth. God is fully aware ...

      296
In fact, you will find them the most covetous of life; even more so than the idol worshippers. The one of them wishes to live a thousand years. But this will not spare him any retribution, no matter how long he lives. God is seer of everything they do.

      GOD bless you brother.
      Peace.

      Peace Good Logic.

Thanks for clarifying your thoughts in such a gentle manner. Somehow gentlemanship seems to be a rare commodity these days!

I am still not fully convinced that "I appreciate my life and I thank the Lord for everyday I am here." and "longing for death is another hobbie of mine." can go hand in hand. I too look forward to meeting my Master as soon as my Master deems my purpose has been served, not before that, though. But of course you may have your own way of rationalizing and balancing these two apparently contrary feelings and only Allah is to be judge for that.

As for the verses you quote, those are challange to a specific group of people - who are conviced that they have better afterlife than this life - to seek death as a challange to their "false" faith. I do not see these verses to be encouragement for the faithful to seek death. Rather Qur'an encourages faithful to gracefully and thankfully accept Allah's decision on matters of life and death.

Some other verses for your consideration in this matter

2200 Then when you have decreed your rites then remember Allah as you remember your fathers or with stronger commemoration. Then among mankind who say, ?Our Master, give us in the World!? and for him there is nothing from portions in the Hereafter ?

2201 And among them who say, ?Our Master, give us nice (things) in the world and nice (things) in the hereafter and preserve us from the suffering of the fire!?

2202 They are the ones for whom there is share of what they earned and Allah is swift in measuring.

(My personal translation, cross checking recommended.)

      GOD bless you brother.
      Peace.

I don't long for death, I can't even get a good nights sleep I always have nightmares and wake up into a nightmare too, death is just skipped over anyway bringing me to Judgment day so another potential nightmare, but hopefully not. Life is ok, pretty crappy, but whatever. I'm dependent on food and water and there is much pain and suffering witnessed and experienced, everyone is pretty treacherous, on the bus a Sikh guy took a picture of me and wrote to someone that their head is even bigger than mine (but I don't have a big head). These are the kind of people in the world, and I'm meant to give thanks? Well I do, and I'm glad I'm not on fire, yet.

Thank you brother for your reply.

Please allow me to clarify further

I Ask the Lord to divert sin away from me everyday . I think death for me is better than sinning. i.e I will choose death over living and sinning, but I know it is not up to me nor do I have that choice..
I also know that I cannot claim innocence for myself, the self is an advocate of vice .

I have to accept whatever happens and always do my best.

I know that the Lord is my Master in this life and the hereafter.I hope I can stay loyal to GOD as long as I live.

So for me there is no harm in longing to return to the Master as a believer for fear of reverting to disbelief.

                    GOD bless you .
                    Peace.

Death is better than sinning leading to the fire, death is better than the fire and will be wished for by those who are headed towards it or are in it, you experience something like death when you have a dreamless sleep and are skipped right to the morning. A life of good deeds is better than death before good deeds are done or to die in a state of sinning without repentance and correction. Repentance and correction, and living and doing good is better than death or being dead, which is better than sinning.

                      So the categories would be
                      Living and doing good
                      Death
                      Sinning and doing evil

                      Kind of like
                      Paradise
                      Ignorance
                      Punishment/Hell

                              Salaam, theNabster. Thanks for sharing much about yourself, it take so much generosity and confidence to do so. I wonder if you can answer the following question;

How was it like being in the Muslim Brotherhood and what is the general ideology of the group?

I was not member of the Executive, my Sponsor put my name forward as trusted, but I never made efforts to fit in, as I look at them as an exclusive club, not as bad as the Free Masons, but still sectarian to my taste even then, I was exploring, attending seminars and meetings of some Scholars, but was not entrusted with anything.

When I severed or rather I got severed from my sponsor, this disappeared with him.

Thank God no, but I've known some, and the testimonies of whistleblowers coming out of the higher ranks is enough to convince me that it is most evil, though the lower ranks are not made privy to the evil practices in the higher echelons.

Aleister Crowley the occultist exposed some of these practices. They confuse Satan (Lucifer) for God and think therefore that they are rightly guided, even better than all religions

Bipolar disorder is most often something diagnosed in women. I'm curious if possible to hear more about the experience of it in a man. What happens? When did you first notice it, how did you get diagnosed? I'm curious about all that stuff!

Bipolar disorder is most often something diagnosed in women. I'm curious if possible to hear more about the experience of it in a man. What happens? When did you first notice it, how did you get diagnosed? I'm curious about all that stuff!

                                        Curious? Why?

Perhaps unlike most people, I actually learn lots from such information, and add it to my databank of a mind, it helps me a great deal when I encounter situations to know the inside scoop based on the life stories and incidents people have dealt with.
