Its a very simple question. Ask any sectarian/hadithi Muslim in your area and they will tell you that ritual prayer is the key to paradise. )

There's one important thing which I think is crucial for salvation,

that is Do not betray your Creator.

I look forward to any other answers, so far, so bad! The answers are so vague and difficult.

The question is "What is essential in order to enter paradise", I want to know what you all have to say too!

Maybe most people aren't here though, but I'm bumping it anyway for the morning crew.

This silly website banned me where I had asked people something similar once

                Peace,

Q02177 - Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but righteousness is one who believes in ALLAH, the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the Prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it - to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveller, those who ask, and for freeing slaves; establishes prayer and gives zakah; fulfill their promise when they promise; and are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.

                  Such as,

if we don't acknowledge our own Creator, if we follow satan's path (become rebel), if we reject the truth when it comes to us.

We should try our best to loyal to God, and do not even try to oppose God, avoid major sins, ask forgiveness to God continuously, do good according to our ability,

do not favor God's enemies, show clearly the party which we follow, if we want to be party of God, then show that we side with (pro) God, do not be hypocrite, do not try to side with (do not try to please) both parties (the party of God and the party of satan)*,

and if we try our best to obey Allah, then hopefully He will grant us His jannah, inshaAllah.

                  *Qur'an, 5814-22

Jannah is likely what you get. It is not what I aim for though. Having a body is not my dream. But there are lots of people who will continue that life.

But being a goodly unselfish person is very important. It is a good start. And we all here likely acknowledge the Sustainer since we are all here debating.

                      Be well

                          some verses that might help

...the most noble of you with God is the one who is most taqwa/conscientious...

...and the remembrance of God is greatest...

...whoever of them believes in God and the Last Day and does good works; they will have their recompense with their Lord...

6151 Say, "Come let me recite to you what your Lord has forbidden for you that you should not set up anything with Him; and be kind to your parents; and do not kill your born children for fear of poverty, We provide for you and for them; and do not come near lewdness, what is plain of it or subtle; and do not kill the person which God has forbidden, except in justice. That is what He enjoined you that you may comprehend."
6152 "Do not come near the money of the orphan, except for what is best, until he reached his maturity; and give honestly full measure and weight equitably. We do not burden a person beyond its capacity. When you speak you must observe justice, even if against a relative. You shall also observe the pledges you made to God. He has enjoined you this so that you may take heed."

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

If we take a really technical and logical stance with your question. The word "essential" is in there.

A person can give tons of charity, be kind to the orphans, blah blah blah, but if they don't believe in God, the Qur'an has said that all their deeds will be made null and void. That means the belief in, and moreover fear of God is the essential component (belief in God IS the FEAR of God. If you do not fear God, you simply do not really believe or "know" what God is or what God is capable of, so not knowing God, are unable to truly be a believer in God, thus the Fear of God is believing and knowing God, and the most fearful of God is the most righteous).

                              4913
Mankind! We have created you from a male and female, and made you into peoples and tribes, so that you might come to know each other. The noblest of you in God's sight is the one who fears God most. God is all knowing and all-aware.

                              3102
O believers, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims

                              Biblical websites
                              http//www.allaboutgod.com/fear-of-god.htm

That is why I am seen using the terminology I am often using, including ideas like "the haunting" and God's terrible freedom to do anything at all.

People satisfy themselves with imagining God is bound up, God's "hand is fettered" by love, by justice, by any number of things, when God is the Lord of Hell, the Master of Evil, the Misguider, the Maddening one, the one who can take a persons hand and make them slit their own wrists or neck. Those who aren't afraid, simply have no comprehension of God, it is even more senseless than not being afraid of hungry sharks while swimming naked in the ocean.

What was the instruction of Jesus according to the New Testament

                              Luke 125
But I will show you whom you should fear Fear him who, after your body has been killed, has authority to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

                              Matthew 1028
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

                              Hebrews 1031
It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (Attributed to Paul)

                              Luke 150
His mercy extends to those who fear him, from generation to generation.

                              Psalm 10317
But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him

                              Revelation 195
Then a voice came from the throne, saying "Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both great and small!"

                              Psalm 14519
He grants the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them.

                              Job 18
Then the LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil."

                              Job 122
In all of this, Job did not sin by blaming God.

                              Job 210
He replied, "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?" In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.

                              Job 64
The arrows of the Almighty are in me, my spirit drinks in their poison; God's terrors are marshaled against me.

                              Job 611
"What strength do I have, that I should still hope? What prospects, that I should be patient?

                              Job 613
Do I have any power to help myself, now that success has been driven from me?

                              Job 614
"Anyone who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.

                              Job 615
But my brothers are as undependable as intermittent streams, as the streams that overflow

                              Job 625
How painful are honest words! But what do your arguments prove?

                              Job 71
"Is not man forced to labor on earth, And are not his days like the days of a hired man?

                              Job 72
Like a slave longing for the evening shadows, or a hired laborer waiting to be paid,

                              Job 73
so I have been allotted months of futility, and nights of misery have been assigned to me.

                              Job 713
When I think my bed will comfort me and my couch will ease my complaint,

                              Job 714
even then you frighten me with dreams and terrify me with visions,

                              Job 915
Though I were innocent, I could not answer him; I could only plead with my Judge for mercy.

                              Job 917
He would crush me with a storm and multiply my wounds for no reason.

                              Job 919
If it is a matter of strength, he is mighty! And if it is a matter of justice, who can challenge him?

                              Job 920
Even if I were innocent, my mouth would condemn me; if I were blameless, it would pronounce me guilty.

                              Job 922
It is all the same; that is why I say, 'He destroys both the blameless and the wicked.'

                              Job 924
When a land falls into the hands of the wicked, he blindfolds its judges. If it is not he, then who is it?

                              Job 927
If I say, 'I will forget my complaint, I will change my expression, and smile,'

                              Job 928
I still dread all my sufferings, for I know you will not hold me innocent.

                              Job 930
Even if I washed myself with soap and my hands with cleansing powder,

                              Job 931
you would plunge me into a slime pit so that even my clothes would detest me.

                              Job 934
someone to remove God's rod from me, so that his terror would frighten me no more.

All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, , "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the destination."

It also says "those who fast"

                                  3335
Lo! men who surrender unto Allah, and women who surrender, and men who believe and women who believe, and men who obey and women who obey, and men who speak the truth and women who speak the truth, and men who persevere (in righteousness) and women who persevere, and men who are humble and women who are humble, and men who give alms and women who give alms, and men who fast and women who fast, and men who guard their modesty and women who guard (their modesty), and men who remember Allah much and women who remember - Allah hath prepared for them forgiveness and a vast reward.

                                  9112
(Triumphant) are those who turn repentant (to Allah), those who serve (Him), those who praise (Him), those who fast, those who bow down, those who fall prostrate (in worship), those who enjoin the right and who forbid the wrong and those who keep the limits (ordained) of Allah - And give glad tidings to believers!

Yet there are people who say that "Fasting" is just "not talking", which really disgusts me.

Do you fast? Do you fast the full period of the month?

                                  Peace to all,

I?d like to hear the members stance. What is ?key? to enter paradise? Please list verses from scripture to back up your answers, thank you.

                                  4124
whereas anyone - be it man or woman - who does of good deeds and is a believer withal, shall enter paradise, and shall not be wronged by as much as the groove of a date-stone.

                                  740
Surely (as for) those who reject Our revelations and turn away from them haughtily, the doors of heaven shall not be opened for them, nor shall they enter the garden until the camel pass through the eye of the needle; and thus do We reward the guilty.

                                  1632
those whom the angels gather in death while they are in a state of inner purity, greeting them thus "Peace be upon you! Enter paradise by virtue of what you were doing !"

                                  1545
Truly, the God-fearing shall dwell amid gardens and fountains
                                  1546
                                  "Enter here in peace, secure!"

1960 but those who repent, who believe, who do righteous deeds, will enter Paradise. They will not be wronged in the least
1961 they will enter the Gardens of Lasting Bliss, promised by the Lord of Mercy to His servants- it is not yet seen but truly His promise will be fulfilled.

3141 And this is (also) with the intention that Allah may bring (more) refinement to the believers (i.e., cleanse and purify them) and annihilate the disbelievers.
3142 Do you assume that you will enter Paradise (without any good), whereas Allah has not yet tested those of you who fight for His cause, nor has He judged the steadfast?
3143 And you used to long for death (as a martyr) before you faced it. So now you have seen it in front of your own eyes.

3925 Those before them had denied, therefore the punishment came to them from a place they did not know.
3926 So Allah made them taste humiliation in the life of this world; and indeed the punishment of the Hereafter is the greatest; if only they knew!
3927 And We have indeed illustrated examples of all kinds in this Qur?an, so that they may ponder.
3928 The Qur?an in Arabic, having no deviation at all, so that they may be pious.
3929 Allah illustrates an example - ?A man having several wicked masters as partners, and another man belonging wholly to just one master; are the two equal in comparison?? All praise is to Allah; in fact, most among them do not know.
3930 Indeed you (O dear Prophet Mohammed ? peace and blessings be upon him) will taste death, and they (the disbelievers) too will die.
3931 Then you will dispute before your Lord on the Day of Resurrection.
3932 So who is more unjust than one who fabricates a lie against Allah, and denies the truth when it comes to him? Is not the destination of disbelievers in hell?
3933 And those who brought this truth and those who testify for it ? these are the pious.
3934 For them is whatever they wish, before their Lord; this is the reward of the virtuous.
3935 So that Allah may relieve them of their worst deeds, and reward them for the best deeds they had done.
3936 Is not Allah Sufficient for His slave? And they threaten you with others beside Him! And whomever Allah sends astray ? there is no guide for him.

3937 And no one can mislead whomever Allah guides; is not Allah the Most Honourable, the Avenger?
3938 And if you ask them, ?Who has created the heavens and the earth??, they will surely say, ?Allah?; say, ?What is your opinion regarding those whom you worship other than Allah ? if Allah wills to cause me some hardship, so will they avert the hardship sent by Him? Or if He wills to have mercy upon me, so will they restrain His mercy?? Proclaim, ?Allah is Sufficient for me; the people who trust must rely only upon Him.?
3939 Proclaim, ?O my people! Keep on with your works in your positions, I am doing mine; so you will soon come to know.? -
3940 ?To whom will come a punishment that will disgrace, and upon whom descends the punishment that never ends.?
3941 We have indeed sent down this Book to you with the truth, in order to guide mankind; so whoever attains guidance has attained it is for his own good, and whoever strays, has strayed for his own harm; and you are not at all responsible for them.

                                  1074
Woe, then, unto those praying ones
                                  1075
Who are unmindful of their prayers,
                                  1076
Those who (want but) to be seen (of men),

                                  3335
Indeed, the Muslim (Surrendered) men and the Muslim (Surrendered) women, and the believing men and the believing women, and the obedient men and the obedient women, and the truthful men and the truthful women, and the patient men and the patient women, and the humble men and the humble women, and the men who give charity and the women who give charity and the men who fast and the women who fast, and the men who guard their chastity and the women who guard (it), and the men who remember Allah much and the women who remember Allah has prepared for them forgiveness and a reward great.
                                  3336
Now whenever God and His Apostle have decided a matter, it is not for a believing man or a believing woman to claim freedom of choice insofar as they themselves are concerned for he who rebels against God and His Apostle has already, most obviously, gone astray.

                                  971
And the believers, men and women, are protecting friends one of another; they enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and they establish worship and they pay the poor-due, and they obey Allah and His messenger. As for these, Allah will have mercy on them. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Wise.

                                  2412
Why did not the believers - men and women - when ye heard of the affair,- put the best construction on it in their own minds and say, "This (charge) is an obvious lie"?

                                  413
These are the bounds set by God. And whoever pays heed unto God and His Apostle, him will He bring into gardens through which running waters flow, therein to abide and this is a triumph supreme.

It also says "those who fast"

                                    Salaam FreedomStand

                                    Lets see what 3335 says

                                    (

                                    3335
Lo! men who surrender unto Allah, and women who surrender, and men who believe and women who believe, and men who obey and women who obey, and men who speak the truth and women who speak the truth, and men who persevere (in righteousness) and women who persevere, and men who are humble and women who are humble, and men who give alms and women who give alms, and men who fast and women who fast, and men who guard their modesty and women who guard (their modesty), and men who remember Allah much and women who remember - Allah hath prepared for them forgiveness and a vast reward.

So this translation says Saimeen=those who fast. The root means to stop.

The red portion says" then who witness Al-shahar then he stop it (FalYasumHu)." So how you stop a month if Al-shahar here means month and why it has "AL" before it. The Hu is referring to Al-shahar which you witness.

Do you fast? Do you fast the full period of the month?

A better question as per Qur'anic command would be "do you do saum?"

And my answer would be yes I do Saum whenever my Creator give me strength and ability to do it.

Please reflect on 2573. I always remember this verse when I study Quran.

                                    (

And those who, when they are reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall at them as deaf and blind ones, (73)

                                      Lets see what 3335 says

So this translation says Saimeen=those who fast. The root means to stop.

So what do you do during this "saum" thing?

What do you say about the whole issue where it says about the food and seems to pretty clearly be talking about not eating for the period of the day?

No problem! With the fear of Allah, comes all the rest, and none can fear Allah except those Allah has chosen to make afraid. Those who are afraid of Allah will flee from sin and sincerely worship and do everything they can do to be as good as possible. Thus, those who fear Allah, are those who do good, and those who fear Allah and do good, are said to be the ones who enter paradise.

On the other hand, those who do not fear Allah, are those who do evil freely since they are not afraid of the fire or Allah who they don't know or understand really, and they are said to be the ones who enter the fire, a horrible punishment, and then they will be afraid, but it will be too late, so they will be miserable.

The word Jahannam, is said to mean "The Rift of Wailing/Lamentations", the Ja or Ge part is said to mean "Valley, Rift, Pit, Deep Crevice" and Hinnom means "wailing/lamentations/screaming in agony" which I suppose might be what is heard from it, along with perhaps the roaring fire.

Jannah seems to mean "The hidden garden" or "the secure/concealed garden".
