You have to delve into their minds to know what goes on in there, but I think it is difficult to "convert" a homosexual into being heterosexual. It is probably not a deliberate choice.
Personally if I was one I would become a celibate though, but that is my preference. A homosexual relationship is little more than pleasure since you cannot naturally procreate children except through a surrogate mother or sperms from another man if you are female couple. Friendships in other settings do not need to be that intimately physical.
It appears that homosexuality occurs in the flesh of other animals as well and it is not that rare.

The situation for gays is better than it once was, but obviously there is still a lot to be desired in ways of amnesty for those individuals. It is often religious nutjobs who drive this hatred towards these people and families with low education and traditional values.
It is hard for me to express myself lacking deep insight into the brainworks of a homosexual, but many if not most are born with this attraction innately and cannot be helped. Yet if it was a sin it is up to the person to deal with the question him or herself without being mistreated. It seems like that you were going to say to a heterosexual man or woman that you are no longer allowed to have your current gender identity but need to play another.
Regarding being flirted with by other men is a bit uncomfortable though, but probably because it feels wrong. I know cases where the gay has flirted with the wrong guy and gotten beaten up. I would not though. I am not homophobic, but I suppose you can understand me.

And although sex is one portion of being in a relationship with someone, its not the whole package, as we all know when we desire a partner in our lives. Experiencing love and having a family as a security to a person are other sides, as nobody really wants to die alone without having experienced romantic love in particular. Lets be honest, one of our top three desires to experience in this life is of romantic love, no matter how rational some of us try to be about it, or to avoid it because it is like a drug, or for pleasure only, etc. And with modern technology, such a couple dont need to have a child the "normal" way either, but can use sperm banks, IVF, surrogate parent, etc. The big thing in a child's life is that he or she has two stable, secure and loving parents.

Once again I understand as straights we can have trouble with understanding homosexuality, because I am straight too. But then since it is fixed already that 2-5% or 5-10% people would always be homosexual in a given population, and sometimes life events can also push a person to be homosexual (where they can't or don't want to be treated, unless an underlying root psychological issue needs to be cured). I think the concept of repression, hiding, feeling shameful, etc, can have strongly detrimental effect on these people, and coming from an insecure and self-hating position may cause them to lose out on the fact that God is indeed Most Compassionate and Most Merciful, as the Quran itself says, which are attributes of love, and have in fact created them this way, perhaps to show people that we are not just limited in our gender identities and the procreation idea, but that we are souls at the end, falling in love authentically with another soul, and our natural sexuality is how we choose to experience which soul in a body to love.

Desiring Romantic Love is Desiring Suffering, one way or the other. Either you get it, and they betray you or hurt you in some way, or it happens and they eventually die, someone is going to suffer. What humans probably want is security, which is what they can never really have. Romantic love is likely a form of that, feeling that someone cares for us and will be there for us, like our parents were when we were babies (in some cases only). Yet, the higher meditation is knowing there is never any security or surety, it is all in flux, can change tomorrow, like waking up and finding the fields all dried or a crop disease coming on them or a swarm of locusts. I woke up the other day and the whole world was yellow because of some forest fires at a distance made the whole atmosphere yellow and the grass was yellow too because of the heat.
Desiring peace, is desiring safety and stability. It will never be obtained for as long as anything is more powerful/influential than us. To understand what is not possible and what is possible, and finally coming to terms with it, can be called Surrender.
We Surrender to the impossibility of ever attaining safety and stability, but we still strive for the next best or as good as we can get. Surrender is not "giving up" but surrendering to the struggle and coming to terms with the struggle at hand.
Whatever you think you have, whatever you are sure of, in all the worlds, is just dust that can slip from your hands. All you can be sure of is Chaos, the Flux, Never Being Sure, never putting your faith or trust in anything but that there is only Nothing to be sure of. That is turning towards the True God by having no Faith in anything else except "whatever will happen, will happen".

And then they wonder why the communities are derailing so much with school shootings in the United States of America. The world is beginning to revere the physical body more and more. It is like it is a subconscious protest and revenge because the clergy has stopped this during so many millennia. Sometimes I think that people need a spiritual leader and role model. Unfortunately such as Hollywood, stars and media industry is the new clergy, even if people are too deluded to understand this.
We need to replace the old clerical figures who are propagating stone/dark age religions and reach out with the real interpretation of Quran soon talking about self-realization and being aware.

Well it sure is pleasant. And it heightens the sense of bonding and romantic attachment to one's partner, and a sense of humanness in one's own self, and as some say, oneness with the God spirit as well. I have been kissed, even in the graphic fashion, I was like what the heck? This? I can't comprehend it at all, makes no sense. Nothing rewarding about a slimey thing in your mouth or whatever, people seem completely demented to me. Everything they say and do is totally senseless and crazy. Besides, the body is made for sexual stimulus so unless you "discharge" it every now and then you get pain in "the lower parts", even if you abstain from these thoughts, or at least it is how I work even if I do every effort at not thinking about it. I think this drive ceases with age, but I am still of breeding age of 33 so I have to discharge myself.
Anyway, sex in a marriage is no sin if this is what you think I am implying. I only wanted to take people away from the physical part of a relationship into the spiritual. And the bonding becomes much more than superficial and eventually the physical stimulus may not be required. The women ends their breeding age at about 45 years of age and onwards.
If one lacks physical exercise this kind of intercourse is healthy though.

Well, it depends. If me or my partner is doing a specific spiritual work that requires to abstain for a time being, or my partner has issues that create problems for him in this department, then I don't mind some abstaining fro physical stimulus in marriage. Otherwise I don't quite see the point in marriage. I can simply have a close friend with whom I bond that way spiritually and nothing more.

I am not particularly interested in children. Or dont mind adoption. So does that mean sex is something I should avoid?

Obviously. But there is a reason sex is sometimes called "making love". Because a couple who has sex does produce more love between them through the process. A fun, relaxing, pleasuring way to increase love with a partner. And birth control technology made it easier for a couple to focus on that activity without worrying about children as well.

Well it is up to you, but I would limit my personal expose to primate functionality.
However, most have a problem abstaining from sex in the long run so if you have a bondmate you may as well copulate to maintain bodily peace, rather than doing something by yourself.
I am mostly annoyed by my drive because my spirit outdoes the nature of my body. Some days I wish I could just turn it off.
