I wish we could do that... I like that idea! D

And about runninglikezebras... count him in.

No, you join. Maybe we should drag you to go into, if necessary.

Lol. When I was a kid, and I had to go to school for the first time I also refused; so they dragged me there. When my mother handed me over to that kindergarten teacher, she had to give me back because I was kicking an punching her so hard. So be warned! This kitty has claws.

Neptin, are you in the states?

Taxing can be slightly state specific. Corporate tax is a joke in federal and state levels. Most companies know at least one way to avoid paying the full amount. What bugs me is how the tax is used by the government. If you look at their detailed expenditure reports you will lose faith in humanity.

US government for instance, divert lot of the funding from these taxes to support more wars and occupation.

When it comes to spending education is linked to defense. If there is a war a major portion of education money is moved to defense. That makes schools suffer for a while. Yet the war fund is never enough. Our last option is getting loan from other countries. That's just another nail in the coffin >(

That said, without tax, United States will go downhill. Countries like Bahrain and Saudi have less population. Its easy to take care of them. Here we are too many in number and that is also with unhealthy lifestyle. I just wish the taxes were lower. Its possible only if we get rid of useless government programs and objectives. But its not gonna happen and I am sure everyone knows why! We will remain unQuranic in that specific section. But its true that income tax is unconstitutional and we are too lazy to do anything about it.

      peace

I feel increasingly enamoured by the idea of setting up an insular QA community. Let's do it!

This is something which will remain purely ideological for me. Realistically, I don't believe for a moment that any such community could come together without being marred by the politics of it. I think the majority of us don't have the basic decency or respect for each other to make such a community work.

          Salaam.

Income tax is part-time slavery and extortion.

I am no longer a Sunna-rejecter. See 4:59-65, 62:2-4, 3:31, 4:156, 7:157 Messenger teaches and is to be followed and obeyed. Examples of revelation received which is not in the Qur'an: 3:123-126, 33:37, 2:187, 66:3, 62:9.

Here in the US, income tax is fair for married couples. They are counted as one. So they pay it just once instead of twice. For singles, tough luck! I find property tax to be more like extortion. Why on earth should I pay to government to live in my own house and that is also in thousands of dollars????

PS Dems are kings of researching how to tax almost everything. That's why, they are hated.

These questionings from the citizens was actually the driver / motivation for some people to invent a religion.
Thus it can be answered with these line of thought

Because all land belongs to God (or Gods) and God has appointed his sole agent on earth to take care of His property (Prophet, High Priest etc..) and since the Prophet / High Priest has died the authority fell into his successor (Pharaoh, Caliph, Sultan, King, Pope).

And according to the Holy Book written by God Himself, He stated that you need to either pay tax or protection money in return for permission to stay and using His land. Do you dare to reject God's decree? He will be angry with you and torture you for all eternity after you die.

The above logic and system works well for many centuries... until the end of medieval age, the common people starting to revolt and reject the above line of thought and screamed out the opposite concept
                    "VOX POPULI, VOX DEI!".

It's the VOICE OF THE PEOPLE which is the VOICE OF GOD and not the VOICE OF THE KING, POPE, SULTAN, ULEMA, CALIPH. Moving forward if you want to propose a taxation you need to

                    1. Secure agreement from the people.
                    2. Provide a transparency on how it was being used! We don't want our money to be spent on your lavishes luxurious personal lifestyle or to start a useless war which we don't agree with.

American corporate tax is lower than Sweden's lol

Sweden corporate tax If one earns +1million SEK (about 130.000 USD), they will take 55% rotfl rotfl
Estonia is looking good for companies, they only take 20% when profit is distributed. So no tax if one keeps everything in company. Would one be able to send these money off-shore to a sister company, and then avoid taxes completely?

EU wants tax from us also. Hence, not all of us can now do business with its countries. No matter how much we despise it, we are forced to turn down the EU customers and clients. The reason for the tax is so unrealistic and deceptive. They said if we want to do business tax free then we have to open office in one of the EU countries. But oh well, not all of us are big corporations and it is obvious that even if we choose to have an office in one of them we will still have to pay local tax.
