To Those Who Doubt The Qur'an: Bring One Or Ten Invented Chapters Like It?

Peace dear brothers/sisters.
Does anyone know why the Qur'an challenges the rejecters to bring 1 chapter like the Qur'an in one verse and 10 chapters in the other verse?
Qur'an 223 "And if you are in doubt as to what We have sent down to Our servant, then bring a Chapter like this, and call upon your witnesses other than God if you are truthful."
Qur'an 1113 "Or do they say "He has invented it!" Say "Then bring ten invented Chapters like it, and call on whom you can besides God if you are truthful."
Why not just 1 or 10 in both verses?

My understanding
The one chapter challenge was mentioned in chapter 2. It was talking about the first chapter" Fatiha".
The second 10 chapter challenge is in chapter 11.hence it was talking about the 10 chapters before.

For me, your answer implies/suggests three important things
- The Qur'an indeed revealed gradually
- The original Qur'an indeed composed from parts (in this case suras)
- The originality of the Qur'an is indeed guarded
I still hope for more proofs. I am open to accept the truth, insha'Allah, such as, if the truth is that the Qur'an has been altered/changed, but I also think it could be not true.
May Allah guide me to the truth, and may He help me to accept it gratefully.

I think the 'ten' is metaphorical/sarcastic and is more geared towards the detractors of AQ. I am sure when The Messenger was revealing the message to others he had his skeptics and so on.
Another way to read it 'oh you think I am making it up? Cool. Write ten more like it then.'
